Established in 1986, the Louis-Jeantet Prizes are funded by the Fondation Louis-Jeantet and awarded each year to experienced researchers who have distinguished themselves in the field of biomedical research in one of the member states of the Council of Europe. They are not intended solely as the recognition of work that has been completed, but also to encourage the continuation of innovative research projects. The prizes are awarded to fully active researchers whose scientific efforts are focused on biomedical research. When the research being recognised is close to practical applications for combating illnesses affecting humankind, one of the Louis-Jeantet Prizes converts into a Jeantet-Collen Prize for Translational Medicine, supported by generous donations from the Désiré Collen Stichting.The particular research domains in which prizes have been awarded are physiology, biophysics, structural biology, biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology, developmental biology and genetics; prize-winners have worked in immunology, virology, bacteriology, neurobiology, clinical epidemiology and structural biochemistry. The Prize is endowed with 1.4 million Swiss francs. The sum available to each prize-winner amounts to 500'000 francs, of which 450'000 francs are to be used for financing ongoing research and 50'000 francs are given to the researcher personally.

Genève-Eaux-Vives railway station (French: Gare de Genève-Eaux-Vives) is a railway station in the municipality of Geneva, in the Swiss canton of Geneva. It is an intermediate stop on the standard gauge CEVA orbital railway line of Swiss Federal Railways. The station originally opened on 27 May 1888. At that time it was the western terminus of the Annemasse-Genève-Eaux-Vives line to Annemasse. This station was closed in 2011, and later demolished, to permit the construction of a new underground station on the CEVA line. The station reopened in December 2019 as part of the launch of the new Léman Express network.

The Natural History Museum of Geneva (in French: Muséum d'histoire naturelle de Genève) is a natural history museum in Geneva, Switzerland. Louis Jurine’s collections of Hymenoptera, Coleoptera, Lepidoptera and Hemiptera are held by the museum. Other displays include a collection of intricate glass models of invertebrates by Leopold and Rudolf Blaschka and a living specimen of a two headed tortoise named Janus. The tortoise is considered the mascot of the museum and is one of their main attractions.

The Communauté Juive Libérale de Genève - GIL or Liberal Jewish Community of Geneva is a Liberal Jewish community located on the eastern side of the river Rhone in Geneva. Established as the Liberal Israelite Group (Groupe Israélite Libéral) on 7 December 1970, the organisation was later renamed the Communauté Juive Libérale de Genève. Guided by its Rabbi François Garaï since 1969, a year before its formal inception, the community held services in a variety of settings: a private library, a rented room on rue Moillebeau, and then at quai du Seujet. Finally, GIL relocated its activities to a purpose built facility, Beith GIL, on Route de Chêne which hosts a Synagogue as well as spaces for community activities. A member of international Jewish organisations such as the World Union for Progressive Judaism and the Federation for francophone progressive Judaism (Fédération du judaïsme libéral francophone), GIL is an influential organisation in Reform Judaism both within Switzerland, but also within the global context of Reform Judaism.

The International School of Geneva (in French: Ecole Internationale de Genève), also known as "Ecolint" or "The International School", is a private, non-profit international school based in Geneva, Switzerland. Founded in 1924 in the service of the League of Nations and the International Labour Organization (the world's first international organizations), it is the oldest international school in the world, and the largest one with 'international' in its name. It was the result of a partnership between parents (Arthur Sweetser and Ludwik Rajchman) and educators from the Institut Jean-Jacques Rousseau (Adolphe Ferrière and Paul Meyhoffer). In the mid-1960s, a group of teachers from Ecolint (La Grande Boissière campus) created the International Schools Examinations Syndicate (ISES), which later became the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) and then the International Baccalaureate (IB). Since its inception, the school's mission was conceived as educating for peace and the inculcation of humanitarian values such as inclusiveness, respect and inter-cultural understanding. It describes itself in its website as "resolutely not-for-profit; mankind is the only beneficiary of our work, not corporate shareholders or private equity firms". In 2017, it was labelled by ITN as "the most diverse school on the planet".Article 4 of Ecolint's Charter states that "the activity of the school in all fields and especially in the field of pedagogy shall be based on the principles of equality and solidarity among all peoples and of the equal value of all human beings without any distinction of nationality, race, sex, language or religion".Ecolint comprises three campuses in and around Geneva, each with its own principal (also known as "director") working under the Director General of the Foundation of the International School of Geneva (currently David Hawley) and a Governing Board elected by parents, staff and alumni with co-opted members from the UN and Swiss Government. Ecolint is a bilingual school, with instruction primarily in English and French. In addition to the IB, it is a testing centre for the US college boards (SAT and ACT), the British IGCSE (CIE).Ecolint is a member of the G30 Schools Group.

Immeuble Clarté is an apartment building in Geneva designed by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret starting from 1928 and built in 1931–32. It has eight stories comprising 45 free plan units of diverse configurations and sizes. It is one of Le Corbusier's key early projects in which he explored the principles of modernist architecture in apartment buildings, which later led to the Unité d'Habitation design principle.After it escaped demolition in the 1960s, the building was first renovated in the 1970s. After being again threatened with demolition in the early 1980s, in 1986 it was listed as a historic monument. In July 2016, the building and several other works by Le Corbusier were inscribed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Champel is a neighborhood in the city of Geneva, Switzerland. Champel is widely considered a posh, high-class neighbourhood due to its numerous parks and natural spaces, very luxurious apartments and proximity to the city center. Residences mostly consist of mid-range to high-scale apartments. Champel is home to Cité Universitaire (French: for university campus), a hostel-like complex for students of the University of Geneva.

The Parc La Grange is an urban park in the city of Geneva, Switzerland. The city park is located south of Lake Geneva at the Quai Gustave-Ador in Geneva. It has a surface of 200,000 m2 and hosts very old and tall trees, Geneva's biggest rose garden, orangeries, an alpine garden and an 18th-century villa. Also two theaters, a playground as well as a paddling pool for the children are found there.

The Pharmaceutical Inspection Convention and Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme (PIC/S) are two international instruments between countries and pharmaceutical inspection authorities. The PIC/S is meant as an instrument to improve co-operation in the field of Good Manufacturing Practices between regulatory authorities and the pharmaceutical industry.

The Russian Church, Geneva (French: Cathédrale de l'Exaltation de la Sainte Croix, Cathedral of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross) is a historic Russian Orthodox church in Geneva, Switzerland. Grand Duchess Anna Fyodorovna, who resided in Bern and Geneva after she chose to separate from Grand Duke Constantine, gave funds to build the church in 1863. It was designed by David Grimm of the Imperial Academy of Arts and completed in 1866 in the fashionable Les Tranchées neighborhood of Geneva. The Russian revival church, with its Byzantine striped arches and gold onion domes, underwent restoration in 1966. The church remains in active use.

The Calvinium or the Salle de la Réformation was a building for events in Geneva, at the corner of Rue du Rhône and Boulevard Helvétique. It was demolished in 1969 and replaced by a building which now houses the South African consulate. The building, built in honor of John Calvin, was built by Jean-Henri Merle d'Aubigné.The first meeting of the assembly of the League of Nations took place at the building on 15 November 1920.The Illes Relief was housed in the building for 42 years, being moved out to make way for the League of Nations.

Genève-Champel railway station (French: Gare de Genève-Champel) is a railway station in the municipality of Geneva, in the Swiss canton of Geneva. It is an intermediate stop on the standard gauge CEVA orbital railway line of Swiss Federal Railways. The station opened in December 2019 as part of the launch of the new Léman Express network. During the planning and development process the station was known as Champel-Hôpital.
