Fruitland, Iowa

Fruitland Township is a township in Muscatine County, Iowa, United States.

Blanchard Island is an island in the Mississippi River between the U.S. states of Illinois and Iowa at 41°21′17″N 91°03′45″W. Most of the island lies within Drury Township, in Rock Island County, but its southern extremity lies in Eliza Township, Mercer County. The island is one of the more popular recreation sites along the Upper Mississippi River between Petosi, Wisconsin, and Saverton, Missouri.

The Louisa–Muscatine Community School District is rural public school district consisting of an elementary school and a high school located in a single complex along U.S. Highway 61 in unincorporated Louisa County, Iowa, with a Letts postal address. The district is named Louisa–Muscatine because it is on the border of Louisa and Muscatine counties. The district, occupying sections of both counties, includes the cities of Letts, Grandview, and Fruitland as well as a portion of the city limits of Muscatine. It also includes Cranston, an unincorporated area, as well as students from various other local communities.

The Muscatine County Home Dairy Barn, also known as the Old Barn, is a historic building on the west side of Muscatine, Iowa, United States. The barn was built in 90 days on the county home property in 1926. It replaced other barns that had been struck by lightning and were destroyed by the resulting fire. The home was an early form of welfare system known as the poor farm. It housed indigent, homeless, or disabled people who in turn worked on the farm to cover their costs of care and food. The barn was nearly torn down in 2006 when a group of volunteers called the Friends of the Old Barn acquired and restored it. It was also in danger of being torn down in 2017 because of its lack of utilities when a nearby building which provided them to the barn was slated to be torn down. The barn is now a museum located near the Muscatine Arboretum and the Muscatine County Environmental Learning Center. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2019.It has a hay hood.

The Muscatine Arboretum (12 acres) is an arboretum in the 85-acre Discovery Park in Muscatine, Iowa, adjacent to the Muscatine Environmental Learning Center at 3300 Cedar Street. Access is through the Learning Center or from Houser Street via Harmony Lane.

The McKee Button Company is a historic building in Muscatine, Iowa, United States. The city was known as the Pearl Button Capital of the World because of the numerous firms that produced the buttons here through the 1960s. The Peerless Button Company was established by James McKee and his brother-in-law William Bliven in 1895. Two years later the company's name was changed to the McKee and Bliven Button Company. They built this building in 1907. The company has been known as the McKee Button Company since 1925. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2020 and was purchased by Kent Corporation of Muscatine, Iowa.In March of 2022, Kent Corporation announced that they would begin transforming the McKee building into offices while focusing on preserving the building's history. They estimated the project would be complete in the spring of 2024.
