Denver Union Station

LoDo (Lower Downtown) is an unofficial neighborhood in Denver, Colorado, and is one of the oldest places of settlement in the city. It is a mixed-use historic district, known for its nightlife, and serves as an example of success in urban reinvestment and revitalization. The current population is approximately 21,145.

The Peters Paper Company Warehouse, in Denver, Colorado, has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1988. It was built in 1899, expanded in 1915, and served as a paper company warehouse until 1942.It is a four- and five-story building with a post and beam structural system and with facing of beige brick. It has a pressed metal cornice and a flat roof. The original part, built in 1899, is four stories, and fills two lots. A 1915 addition on a third lot on the north side has five stories but is the same height, and is tied in by the cornice and by windows having the same design. The construction of both parts was designed and/or supervised by architects Gove and Walsh.

The Oxford Hotel is a historic building in Denver, Colorado, which was designed by early Denver architect Frank Edbrooke, and built in 1891. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. The Cruise Room is a hotel bar with historic art deco interior, that was operated as an illicit speakeasy.

The Barth Hotel, also known as the Union Warehouse, is located in Denver, Colorado. It was built in 1882 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. In 1980, it was the oldest continuously operated hotel in Denver.It has also been known as the Union Hotel, the New Union Hotel, the Elk Hotel, and the New Elk Hotel.It is a four-story building with a 50 by 125 feet (15 m × 38 m) plan, designed by Denver architect F.C. Eberley. Its first floor is 18.33 feet (5.59 m) from floor to ceiling. Originally the hotel occupied the top three floors; only later was a hotel lobby was added in the first floor.

The Barney L. Ford Building, a privately owned building in Denver, Colorado, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was deemed significant for its association with Barney Ford, an escaped slave who became a prominent businessman and a Republican Party leader in Colorado. The building is included by the National Park Service in lists of Underground Railroad-associated places, for its association with Ford; the Colorado Territory was itself far from the Underground Railway routes north from the slavery states in the U.S. South.

The Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA Denver), in Denver, Colorado, was founded in 1996 as the first dedicated home for contemporary art in the city of Denver. For seven years, MCA Denver occupied a renovated fish market in Sakura Square in lower downtown Denver.

The Denver Millennium Bridge is the world's first cable-stayed bridge using post-tensioned structural construction. Its 200-foot (61 m) white tapered steel mast rises above Denver's northwestern skyline, connected to the bridge deck and foundation anchored by steel cables. This unique footbridge crosses railroad tracks and the regional light rail system, climbing no higher than 25 feet (8 m) above street level, thereby minimizing the height pedestrians must climb. Located near LoDo (Denver's lower downtown), in Riverfront Park, the Millennium Bridge connects the popular 16th Street Mall with the Commons Park in the Central Platte Valley District of the Union Station neighborhood. The bridge is the first of three pedestrian bridges between Downtown Denver and the Highland neighborhood.

In 2020, the population of the neighborhood was roughly 5,878.The neighborhood is named for Union Station, Denver's main railroad terminal. Much of the Lower Downtown Historic District (known as LoDo) is in the Union Station neighborhood, but the boundaries of the two are not the same, and LoDo is not one of the city's official statistical neighborhoods.

The Granite Building in Denver, Colorado, also known as the Clayton Building, is a Denver Landmark. It is a four-story building which was built in 1882 on the site of the first building in Denver, a log cabin.It was built to host the M.J. McNamara Dry Goods Company. It is a substantial building which eventually became a boarding house by the 1910s, and then a flophouse, however. Ownership changed in 1965 and it was restored by 1970. It held offices, restaurants, and a comedy club in its basement.In 1969-70 it was in the Skyline Urban Renewal Area, and it was photographed by William Edmund Barrett for the Historic American Buildings Survey program.It was designated a Denver Landmark in 1983. It is located in the Larimer Square Historic District, which is a Denver Landmark. And it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a contributing building in the Larimer Square Historic District, which includes the entire 1400 block of Larimer St.; the nomination terms it the Clayton Building. It is described there as:(Clayton Building) - In 1882 this massive and elaborate cut granite building was constructed with a large cornice hosting a filigree railing on the two street sides. Handsome cast-iron structural columns are exposed when not covered by the granite facade. Directly fronting the corner of the block is a bay front, adding an unusual dimension to the building. An interior shaft and skylight is the vent for the bathrooms. Along with the original stainglass windows this is one of the most unusual buildings on the block.
