The Bezirk Dornbirn is an administrative district (Bezirk) in Vorarlberg, Austria. A rather young district, it was separated from the Feldkirch district in 1969. The area of the district is 172.7 km2, the population 82,721 (January 1, 2012), which makes a population density of 479 persons per km2. The administrative center of the district is Dornbirn.

Dornbirn (German pronunciation: [ˈdɔʁnbɪʁn] ) is a city in the westernmost Austrian state of Vorarlberg. It is the administrative centre for the district of Dornbirn, which also includes the town of Hohenems, and the market town Lustenau. Dornbirn is the largest city in Vorarlberg and the tenth largest city in Austria. It is an important commercial and shopping centre.

The FLATZ Museum is a contemporary art museum in Dornbirn, Vorarlberg (Austria). The museum dates back to an oeuvre donation to the city of Dornbirn from the action artist FLATZ (Wolfgang Flatz, *1952, Dornbirn). The opening took place in 2009 by the former "documenta" director Jan Hoet.It shows changing exhibitions designed by international guest curators with a focus on photographic art, organises readings, lecture series, discussions and performances. The collection includes key works by Wolfgang Flatz from the period 1975 to 1999 and is supplemented by private loans.

The Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences (German: Fachhochschule Vorarlberg) in Dornbirn in Vorarlberg (Austria) is a leading Austrian University of Applied Sciences. It was founded in 1989 going under the name of "Technical School, Vorarlberg". Its charter is to provide degree programmes with a direct link to work practice. About 1.300 students are currently enrolled in Bachelor's and master's degrees in the areas of Business, Engineering, Design and Social Work. FH Vorarlberg enjoys excellent relations with business and industry in Vorarlberg. Many of the companies are world leaders or among world leaders in their areas. Close cooperation with these top companies means that students can choose from a range of internships and graduates have excellent job prospects. The number of research contracts from business and industry is proof of FH Vorarlberg's strong links to high-tech companies. For instance, in January 2014, the Josef-Ressel-Center for microtechnology has been inaugurated at FH Vorarlberg.

Haselstauden (also known as Hazeltown) has been the fourth district of Dornbirn, Austria since 1902, when Dornbirn was given the status of municipality. It's also the city's northernmost district.

The Zumtobel Group is an Austrian company specialising in lighting headquartered in Dornbirn. Zumtobel engages in the development, production and sales of lighting, luminaires, lighting management and lighting components for indoor and outdoor applications. The company is a European market leader for professional lighting systems and the number two for lighting components in Europe. The group operates 10 production facilities on three continents as well as sales and partner companies in nearly 90 countries.Since 2007, the group has presented the Zumtobel Group Award (long name Zumtobel Group Award – Innovations for Sustainability and Humanity in the Built Environment) to architects and engineers every two years. The prize was worth 140,000 euros in 2012, 150,000 euros in 2017 and 120,000 euros in 2021.In the financial year from May 2017 to April 2018, the company recorded a loss of 46.7 million euros due to pricing pressure and currency effects and did not pay out a dividend for this period. Revenue declined by 8 percent and the share of LEDs in revenue increased from 73.6 to 79.6 percent. In 2018/19, the Zumtobel Group significantly reduced the net loss from 46.7 to 15.2 million euros. As a result of uncertainties related to Brexit and price pressure caused by intense competition in the lighting industry, revenue declined by 2.9 percent to 1.162 billion euros. The operating result (EBIT) improved from minus 7.3 million to 2.7 million euros. Profitability also increased compared to the previous year. Group EBIT, adjusted for one-off effects, rose by 8 million euros to 27.6 million euros. Return on sales improved to 2.4 percent. On 25 June 2020 the Zumtobel Group announced the figures for the 2019/20 financial year: net profit for the year rose by 30 million euros to a plus of 14.5 million euros. Adjusted Group EBIT almost doubled to 53.9 million euros despite a slight decline in revenues due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. The EBIT margin increased from 2.4 percent to 4.8 percent. In the 2020/21 financial year, the Zumtobel Group recorded a more than 100% increase in net profit to 45.6 million euros, despite a 7.7 percent decline in revenues due to the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Adjusted Group EBIT thus rose by 23.4 percent to 43.4 million euros. In the 2021/22 financial year, Group sales increased to 1,148.3 million euros and EBIT to 60.8 million euros. Net profit was 45.8 million euros.

The Stadion Birkenwiese is a football stadium in Dornbirn in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg. It is the home ground of FC Dornbirn 1913, which plays in the 2nd division.

The Karren is a mountain within the city bounds of Dornbirn, in Western Austria. A cable car goes to the top of the mountain. The summit station includes a panorama restaurant with an expansive view of Switzerland and Germany and the Rhine Valley.

Schwarzach in Vorarlberg railway station (German: Bahnhof Schwarzach in Vorarlberg) is a railway station in the municipality of Schwarzach, in the district of Bregenz, in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg. It is located on the Vorarlberg line of Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB).

Bildstein is a municipality in the district of Bregenz in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg.

The Rolls-Royce Museum is a privately owned automobile museum in Dornbirn, Vorarlberg, Austria. Established in 1982, and officially opened to the public in 1999, it has been said to have the world's largest collection of Rolls-Royce cars.The museum was originally housed in a former textile factory owned by F. M. Hämmerle. In 2017, the museum's founder, Franz Vonier, died, and the local city and state decided to cease subsidising the museum's rent payments. The founder's successors, Bernhard and Johannes Vonier, therefore moved the museum to a smaller building nearby that they owned themselves.With less space available in the smaller building, the museum now focuses on its more special exhibits, and plans to present a new theme each year.
