The Mansion of Bahjí (Arabic: قصر بهجي, Qasr Bahjī, mansion of delight) is a summer house in Acre, Israel where Baháʼu'lláh, the founder of the Baháʼí Faith, died in 1892. He was buried in an adjacent house, which became the Shrine of Baháʼu'lláh, a place of pilgrimage and the Baháʼí Qiblih. The whole area was called Al-Bahjá (Place of Delight).

The Acre Aqueduct (Hebrew: אמת עכו, Acco Aqueduct), better known as Pasha's Aqueduct is a now-defunct aqueduct in the Western Galilee region of northern Israel. It was refurbished by Jezzar Pasha, Ottoman ruler of Acre and the Western Galilee from 1775 to 1804. It was destroyed by Napoléon in 1799 during the Siege of Acre. The original used pipes to transport the water. The surviving open-channel structure seen today was completely reconstructed by Jezzar's son, Suleiman from 1814-1815. In 1873, the aqueduct was made operational after thirty years of disrepair by then Acre governor, Ahmad Big Tawfíq, in response to a request to render some service to Bahá'u'lláh, the prophet-founder of the Bahá’í Faith, held as a prisoner in exile in Acre. The city of Acre celebrated the return of water after Bahá'u'lláh's request was granted by firing off one hundred canon blasts. It was operational until 1948. Its source is in the Kabri Spring. Though mostly underground, portions of the aqueduct are visible above ground, including two well-known sections on Kibbutz Lohamei HaGeta'ot, the most spectacular being to the south, through Kibbutz Shomrat.

The Ghetto Fighters' House (Hebrew: בית לוחמי הגטאות, Beit Lohamei Ha-Getaot), full name, Itzhak Katzenelson Holocaust and Jewish Resistance Heritage Museum, Documentation and Study Center, was founded in 1949 by members of Kibbutz Lohamei Hagetaot, a community of Holocaust survivors, among them fighters of the ghetto undergrounds and partisan units. The museum is named after Itzhak Katzenelson, a Jewish poet who was murdered at Auschwitz. The museum is located in the Western Galilee, Israel, on the Coastal Highway between Acre (Akko) and Nahariya. The Ghetto Fighters' House is the world's first museum commemorating the Holocaust and Jewish heroism. It represents the highest expression of its founders' commitment to Holocaust education in Israel and the world. The museum tells the story of the Jewish people in the 20th century, and particularly during World War II and the Holocaust. At the center of the narrative is the individual, and the many expressions of Jewish resistance in ghettos, concentration camps, and partisan combat. "Friends of GFH" associations are active in Israel, France, Austria, and the United States.

Lohamei HaGeta'ot (Hebrew: לוֹחֲמֵי הַגֵּיטָאוֹת, lit. The Ghetto Fighters) is a kibbutz in northern Israel. Located in the western Galilee, it falls under the jurisdiction of Mateh Asher Regional Council. In 2021 it had a population of 816.

Bustan HaGalil (Hebrew: בֻּסְתַּן הַגָּלִיל or בוסתן הגליל lit. Orchard of the Galilee) is a moshav in the Western Galilee in northern Israel. Located near Acre, it falls under the jurisdiction of Mateh Asher Regional Council. As of 2021 its population was 1,305.

The Mateh Asher Regional Council (Hebrew: מועצה אזורית מטה אשר, Mo'atza Azorit Mateh Asher) is a regional council in the western Galilee of northern Israel. It is named after the Tribe of Asher which had been allotted the region in antiquity according to the Book of Joshua (19:24–31). It was founded in 1982 as a merger of three regional councils: Ga'aton, Na'aman and Sulam Tzor. The council's offices are located on Highway 4, between Regba and Lohamei HaGeta'ot. The regional council was established in 1982, now stretches over 216,059 dunams and includes some 17,300 residents. As of 2008, the head of the regional council is Yehuda Shavit, and the chief rabbi is Rabbi Shlomo Ben Eliyahu.

Western Galilee College (Hebrew: המכללה האקדמית גליל מערבי) is an academic college in northern Israel within the jurisdiction of the city of Akko. It was founded in 1994 on the basis of its predecessor, the Western Galilee Regional College, which was founded in 1972.

The Armistice of Saint Jean d'Acre (also known as the Convention of Acre) concluded the Syria-Lebanon Campaign of World War II. The Armistice, signed on 14 July 1941, was between Allied forces in the Middle East under the command of British General Henry Maitland Wilson, and Vichy France forces in Syria and Lebanon, under the command of General Henri Dentz, Commander in Chief of the Army of the Levant (Armée du Levant) and as High Commissioner of the Levant.

Al-Manshiyya (Arabic: المنشية), was a Palestinian village with a Muslim orphanage and a mosque known as the mosque of Abu 'Atiyya, which is still standing. The area just north of the village was a garden planted by Sulayman Pasha, who was the ruler of Acre in the early 19th century, named Arabic: قصر بهجي, Qasr Bahjī, mansion of delight; today this is known as the shrine of Bahá'u'lláh, who was the founder of the Baháʼí Faith.

The siege of Acre (also called the fall of Acre) took place in 1291 and resulted in the Crusaders losing control of Acre to the Mamluks. It is considered one of the most important battles of the period. Although the crusading movement continued for several more centuries, the capture of the city marked the end of further crusades to the Levant. When Acre fell, the Crusaders lost their last major stronghold of the Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem. They still maintained a fortress at the northern city of Tartus (today in north-western Syria), engaged in some coastal raids, and attempted an incursion from the tiny island of Ruad, but when they lost that as well in 1302 in the siege of Ruad, the Crusaders no longer controlled any part of the Holy Land.

Al-Sumayriyya (Arabic: السُميريه, Katasir in Canaanite times, Someleria during Crusader rule), was a Palestinian village located six kilometers north of Acre that was depopulated after it was captured by the Israel Defense Forces during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. The ruins of the village are today in the outskirts of the Israeli moshav of Regba.

The Sanjak of Acre (Arabic: سنجق عكا; Turkish: Akka Sancağı), often referred as Late Ottoman Galilee, was a prefecture (sanjak) of the Ottoman Empire, located in modern-day northern Israel. The city of Acre was the Sanjak's capital. Acre was captured by the Ottoman Sultan Selim I in 1517, but the city fell into disuse soon thereafter and was governed under the Sanjak of Safad during 16th-18th centuries. Acre was the center of the Nahiya of Acre, a subdistrict of the sanjak, which also included the villages of Buqei'a, Al-Tira, Julis, Kafr Yasif, Kabul and Shefa-'Amr. Acre was the center of a major economic boom under the leadership of Zahir al-Umar during the late 18th century. The Sanjak of Acre was created c. early 18th century as a prefecture of the Sidon Eyalet. The Sidon Eyalet later became known as the Acre Eyalet between 1775 and 1841 when Acre was designated as the eyalet's capital city. Following the promulgation of the Vilayet Law as per the then-ongoing Tanzimat, or administrative reforms, in 1864, the sanjak of Acre was annexed to the newly created Syria Vilayet. In 1888, the sanjaks of Acre, Latakia, Tripoli, Beirut, and Nablus were separated from the Syria Vilayet and transferred to the Beirut Vilayet.
