White Waltham

White Waltham Airfield (ICAO: EGLM) is an operational general aviation aerodrome located at White Waltham, 2 nautical miles (3.7 km; 2.3 mi) southwest of Maidenhead, in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead in Berkshire, England. This large grass airfield is best known for its association with the Air Transport Auxiliary from 1940 to 1945 and also has a significant history of prewar flying training, wartime and postwar RAF use and postwar use as a flight test centre by the Fairey and Westland aircraft companies. In the mid-1950s it was HQ of RAF Home Command. It is now privately owned and is the home of the West London Aero Club.

Cookham was a rural district in Berkshire, England from 1894 to 1974. The district was formed by the Local Government Act 1894 as a successor to the Cookham rural sanitary district. It continued in existence until 1974, when it was abolished under the Local Government Act 1972, forming part of the new Windsor and Maidenhead district.

Great Thrift Wood is a 14.2-hectare (35-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Cox Green in Berkshire. The site is a broadleaved, mixed and yew woodland located in a lowland area. The wood was classed in 1984 as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Paley Street is a small village in the civil parishes of White Waltham and Bray in the English county of Berkshire. It is situated about 4 miles (6.4 km) south of Maidenhead and 6 miles (9.7 km) west of Windsor. By the later medieval period, 'street' was often used to describe straggling villages in areas of late woodland clearance. Paley Street is one such example. For many years in the 1990s a horse racing yard was located at Cedars Farm.

Ockwells Manor is a timber-framed 15th century manor house in the civil parish of Cox Green, adjoining Maidenhead, in the English county of Berkshire. It was previously in the parish of Bray. The manor used to own most of the land that is now Ockwells Park.Ockwells is an early example of a manor built without fortifications, which Sir Nikolaus Pevsner called "the most refined and the most sophisticated timber-framed mansion in England". It preserves a superb set of contemporary heraldic stained glass in the hall. Many of its bargeboards and other exterior timbers are run with rich mouldings and carved. Herringbone brickwork provides the infill.

Touchen End, formerly written Touchen-end, is a village in the civil parish of Bray in the English county of Berkshire. It is situated about 3 miles (4.8 km) south of Maidenhead and 5 miles (8 km) west of Windsor and lies on the border of Bray and Waltham parishes.
