Citadel is a community in Northwest Calgary, Alberta. It is bordered by Stoney Trail on the north and west, Country Hills Blvd on the south, and Sarcee Trail on the east. Public transportation in Citadel is provided by Calgary Transit bus route 138 to Crowfoot C-Train Station.

Ranchlands is a residential neighbourhood in the northwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bounded to the north by John Laurie Boulevard, to the east by Sarcee Trail, to the south by Crowchild Trail and to the west by Nose Hill Drive. The area was annexed to the City of Calgary in 1961 and Ranchlands was established in 1977. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 2 councillor.

Robert Thirsk High School is a public senior high school in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It derives its name from Robert Thirsk, a Canadian engineer and physician, and a former Canadian Space Agency astronaut. The high school is located in the Northwest Calgary community of Arbour Lake, and has a capacity of 1,500 students. Robert Thirsk High School officially opened in September 2013. Over 800 grade 10 and 11 students attend the first school year. The high school accommodates students from Citadel, Arbour Lake, Scenic Acres, Ranchlands, Hawkwood, Rocky Ridge, Royal Oak, and Nolan Hill. Silver Springs is a residential neighbourhood in the northwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bounded to the north by Crowchild Trail, to the east by Sarcee Trail, to the south by the Bow River and to the west by Nose Hill Drive. The Silver Springs golf course is developed in the eastern part of the community, and the Bowmont Natural Area borders the community to the south. Silver Springs was developed between 1972 and 1980. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 1 councillor.

Edgemont is a residential neighbourhood in northwest Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and is located north of the community of Dalhousie. It is also bounded by John Laurie Boulevard to the south, Sarcee Trail to the west, Country Hills Boulevard to the north, and Shaganappi Trail to the east. Much of Edgemont is a northwest extension of Nose Hill, as evidenced by the steep escarpments at the southeast end of the community. The elevated position of Edgemont (1245m at its highest) provides views of the city to the south and the Rocky Mountains to the west. The community began development in 1978, and was recently completed. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 4 councillor.

Dalhousie is a neighbourhood in the northwest area of Calgary. It is bounded to the north by John Laurie Boulevard, to the east by Shaganappi Trail, to the south by Crowchild Trail and to the west by Sarcee Trail. Dalhousie was established in 1967 and was named for George Ramsay, 9th Earl of Dalhousie. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 7 councillor.The community is served by the Dalhousie station of the C-Train LRT system.

Hamptons is a residential neighbourhood in the northwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is located close to the northern edge of the city, and is bounded to the north by Stoney Trail, to the east by Shaganappi Trail, to the south by Country Hills Boulevard, and to the west by Sarcee Trail. The land was annexed in two stages, the southern area in 1976 and the northern one in 1989. The Hamptons was established as a neighbourhood in 1990. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 2 councillor.The community is home to an Olympic size hockey rink and an annual Stampede breakfast.
