Silver Springs is a residential neighbourhood in the northwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bounded to the north by Crowchild Trail, to the east by Sarcee Trail, to the south by the Bow River and to the west by Nose Hill Drive. The Silver Springs golf course is developed in the eastern part of the community, and the Bowmont Natural Area borders the community to the south. Silver Springs was developed between 1972 and 1980. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 1 councillor.

Hawkwood is a residential neighbourhood in the northwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is bounded to the north by Country Hills Boulevard, to the east by Sarcee Trail, to the south by John Laurie Boulevard, and to the west by Nose Hill Drive. Hawkwood was established in 1981. It was named for a dairy farming family who came to Alberta from England in 1913. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 2 councillor.

Robert Thirsk High School is a public senior high school in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It derives its name from Robert Thirsk, a Canadian engineer and physician, and a former Canadian Space Agency astronaut. The high school is located in the Northwest Calgary community of Arbour Lake, and has a capacity of 1,500 students. Robert Thirsk High School officially opened in September 2013. Over 800 grade 10 and 11 students attend the first school year. The high school accommodates students from Citadel, Arbour Lake, Scenic Acres, Ranchlands, Hawkwood, Rocky Ridge, Royal Oak, and Nolan Hill. The school offers career skills and fine arts programming, including: Electro-technologies Computer Sciences Tech Theater Construction Cook trade Health and human services Media, design and communication Natural sciences Drama Dance Band Visual artsThe school is also home for some students who have special needs and attend the Adapted Learning Program.

Dalhousie is a neighbourhood in the northwest area of Calgary. It is bounded to the north by John Laurie Boulevard, to the east by Shaganappi Trail, to the south by Crowchild Trail and to the west by Sarcee Trail. Dalhousie was established in 1967 and was named for George Ramsay, 9th Earl of Dalhousie. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 7 councillor.The community is served by the Dalhousie station of the C-Train LRT system.

Citadel is a community in Northwest Calgary, Alberta. It is bordered by Stoney Trail on the north and west, Country Hills Blvd on the south, and Sarcee Trail on the east. Public transportation in Citadel is provided by Calgary Transit bus route 138 to Crowfoot C-Train Station.

Dale Hodges Park is a 40.4686 hectares (100.000 acres) natural environment urban park, stormwater treatment, and public artwork in northwest Calgary, Alberta—an expansion of Bowmont Park— where stormwater from eight northwest upstream residential communities flows slowly through "water structures and landforms" inspired by "natural river morphology as well as hydrologic and sedimentation processes" that serve as filters. The park, which is connected to the regional pathway, has a boardwalk, cycling and walking trails, the Nautilus Pond, a polishing marsh, a wet meadow, man-made streams, vantage points of the Bow River, and wildlife habitat.The $26.8 million project to "restore native riparian habitats" of the contaminated Klippert gravel pit, then known as the East Bowmont Natural Environment Park (NEP), began in 2010. It was completed in the fall of 2018 and officially opened to the public on June 26, 2019, following a ceremony in which Mayor Naheed Nenshi dedicated the park to Dale Hodges, in recognition of his many contributions to Calgary as the longest service member of council. Alderman Hodges was active for 30 years—from 1983 to 2013—"protecting and creating Calgary's green spaces".

Arbour Lake is a residential neighbourhood in the northwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bounded to the north by Country Hills Boulevard, to the south by Crowchild Trail, to the east by Nose Hill Drive, to the west by Stoney Trail. Arbour Lake was established in 1992, and named after Arbor Lake, Newport Beach, California. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 2 councillor.

Calgary-Bow is a provincial electoral district in the city of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The district is one of 87 districts mandated to return a single member (MLA) to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting. The electoral district has been a stronghold for right leaning parties. Social Credit briefly held the district from 1971 to 1975 and the Progressive Conservatives have held the district uninterrupted until the 2015 provincial election, when the seat was won by NDP candidate Deborah Drever. The electoral district returned to electing conservative candidate in 2019 with United Conservative Party MLA Demetrios Nicolaides.

Bowness High School is a public school in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, which teaches grades 10 through 12. It is operated by the Calgary Board of Education. The school was founded in 1956 as a junior and senior high school to serve the town of Bowness . In 1964 the town was annexed by Calgary. No longer having a junior high component, the school now serves several Calgary communities in addition to Bowness.Some of the programs of the school include Pre-Engineering, Career and Technology Studies (CTS) and High Performance Athlete Development (HPAD). Bowness has an award-winning band program. In 2016 Bowness officially opened its newly constructed southern wing of the school. This newly expanded wing comprises six new classrooms, a fully functioning culinary arts kitchen/cafeteria, fitness centre and Cosmetology; along with various common learning areas and new main foyer.

Edgemont is a residential neighbourhood in northwest Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and is located north of the community of Dalhousie. It is also bounded by John Laurie Boulevard to the south, Sarcee Trail to the west, Country Hills Boulevard to the north, and Shaganappi Trail to the east. Much of Edgemont is a northwest extension of Nose Hill, as evidenced by the steep escarpments at the southeast end of the community. The elevated position of Edgemont (1245m at its highest) provides views of the city to the south and the Rocky Mountains to the west. The community began development in 1978, and was recently completed. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 4 councillor.

Bowness is a neighbourhood and former town in west Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The former town was amalgamated into the City of Calgary in 1964. The neighbourhood is bordered by the Bow River to the north and east, 16 Avenue to the south, and Stoney Trail to the west. The neighbourhood of Montgomery, another former town amalgamated into the City of Calgary a year earlier in 1963, is located across the river to the east. On the northwest end of the community is one of Calgary's most popular parks, Bowness Park. The park sits between the Bow River and a lagoon, and is popular for picnics, summer sports, ice skating in the winter, and boating. It is also part of the city's large pedestrian pathway network. It is bordered by Edworthy Park to the southeast. Bowness is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 1 councillor. Residents of the area are called "Bownesians" (Bow-NEE-zhins). The community has an area redevelopment plan in place.
