Monteux

The canton of Monteux is an administrative division of the Vaucluse department, in southeastern France. It was created at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Monteux.It consists of the following communes: Althen-des-Paluds Beaumes-de-Venise Caromb Entraigues-sur-la-Sorgue Monteux Saint-Hippolyte-le-Graveyron Sarrians

The canton of Carpentras-Sud is a French former administrative division in the department of Vaucluse and region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. It had 41,948 inhabitants (2012). It was disbanded following the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015.

Communauté d'agglomération des Sorgues du Comtat is a communauté d'agglomération, an intercommunal structure in the Vaucluse department, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, southeastern France. Created in 2001, its seat is in Monteux. Its name refers to the branches of the river Sorgue and the Comtat Venaissin. Its area is 154.7 km2. Its population was 50,165 in 2019.

The river Nesque (French: La Nesque) is a river in Provence (France). It flows through Vaucluse department, between Vaucluse Mountains and plains of Comtat Venaissin. A tributary of the Sorgue de Velleron, it is 53.2 km (33.1 mi) long. Its drainage basin is 401 km2 (155 sq mi).

The Comtat Venaissin (French pronunciation: [kɔ̃ta vənɛsɛ̃]; Occitan: lo Comtat Venaicin; 'County of Venaissin'), often called the Comtat for short, was a part of the Papal States (1274–1791) in what is now the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of France. The entire region was an enclave within the Kingdom of France, comprising the area around the city of Avignon (itself always a separate comtat) roughly between the Rhône, the Durance and Mont Ventoux, and a small exclave located to the north around the town of Valréas bought by Pope John XXII. The Comtat also bordered (and mostly surrounded) the Principality of Orange. The region is still known informally as the Comtat Venaissin, although this no longer has any political meaning.

The Roux Graineterie of Carpentras, seed company founded in 1907, at 34 rue Bel Air Carpentras in Vaucluse, France is an outstanding example of this industry, which now has five such institutions in France of which only two are classified as historical monuments (one in Carignan in Ardennes and the other monastic barn 14th century to Blois in Loir-et-Cher ). Since the order of September 9, 2005 the building is listed as monument. Graineterie the works for nearly a century from 1919 until the early 2000s.

Althen-des-Paluds (French pronunciation: [altɛ̃ de paly]; Provençal: Lei Palús or Alten) is a commune in the Vaucluse department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southeastern France. The commune is crossed by the river Sorgue.

Carpentras station is a railway station serving the town Carpentras, Vaucluse department, southeastern France. It is the terminus of the railway line from Sorgues to Carpentras, which was closed for passenger traffic in 1938, but reopened after renovation in 2015. Additionally, Carpentras station was on the railway line from Orange to L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue which also lost its passenger service in 1938 and freight service in stages between 1955 and 1988. Today, Carpentras station is served by regional passenger trains to Sorgues and Avignon. Freight traffic ended in February 2013 prior to the rehabilitation of the infrastructure for the restart of passenger traffic, although some freight tracks were retained in Carpentras.

Sarrians (French pronunciation: [saʁjɑ̃]; Occitan: Sarrian) is a commune in the Vaucluse department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southeastern France.
