Westgate, Calgary

Rosscarrock is a residential neighbourhood in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bounded to the north by Bow Trail to the east by 33 Street W, to the south by 17 Avenue S and to the west by 45 Street W. The Westbrook Mall is located in the northeast corner of the neighbourhood, and it is bordered by the Shaganappi golf course. Rosscarrock was established in 1954. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 8 councillor.

45 Street station is a CTrain light rail station in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is the fourth station from downtown on the West leg of the Blue Line. It opened for revenue service on December 10, 2012. On December 8, 2012, a preview of the West Line was provided.The station is located in a trench on the north side of 17 Avenue SW and west of 45 Street SW, 5.3 km West of the 7 Avenue & 9 Street SW Interlocking. No park & ride is provided and the station is a walk-on only with passengers arriving by Calgary Transit buses, cycling, walking or by vehicle drop off. The platforms are side-loading with grade-level access at the west end and stairs and ramps at the east end. The station serves the neighborhoods of Glendale, Rosscarrock, Westgate and Glenbrook. It is located immediately adjacent to the Calgary main office of the Alberta Motor Association, as well as a district Calgary Police Service station. 45 Street along with 69 Street are the first trenched stations to be built in Calgary. In its first year of service, 45 Street served an average of 3,630 boardings per day.

Wildwood is an established neighbourhood in the Southwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It was first settled in 1883 and developed in the 1950s on a plateau to the south to the Bow River valley, and is primarily composed of single-detached bungalows on wide lots with rear laneways. Wildwood is bounded on the north by Edworthy Park, a significant natural area park in Calgary, and the Bow River. It borders the neighbourhood of Spruce Cliff on the east side at 38th Avenue SW, and is limited on the south side by Bow Trail, a six-lane expressway. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 6 councillor. Between 2006 and 2009, Bow Trail was widened to accommodate more suburban traffic.

Sirocco is a light rail station on the Blue Line of the CTrain network in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is located along the north side of 17th Ave SW, between 69 Street and 45 Street stations, and was opened on December 10, 2012, as part of the West LRT extension from Sunalta to 69 Street.

Glendale is a residential neighbourhood in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is located south of 17th Avenue SW, east of Sarcee Trail and Signal Hill and west of 37 Street SW and Killarney. The Optimist Athletic Park is located in this community. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 6 councillor.

Strathcona Park is a residential neighbourhood in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bounded by Bow Trail to the north, Sarcee Trail to the east, Strathcona Drive and the community of Christie Park to the south and Strathcona Park Blvd to the west. Strathcona Park lies in the center of the neighbourhood. The land was annexed to the City of Calgary in 1956 from the Municipal District of Rocky View. Strathcona Park was established as a neighbourhood in 1980. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 6 councillor.

Calgary Christian School (CCS) is an alternative program in the Palliser School division, delivering faith-based education to more than 750 students from preschool to Grade 12. CCS is located in the southwest corner of Calgary, Alberta and is a member of the Palliser Regional Division No. 26. CCS began teaching in 1963 and had its first graduating class from Grade 12 in 1978. The Calgary Society for Christian Education works in partnership with Palliser to deliver educational programming.

The land was annexed to the City of Calgary in 1956 from the Municipal District of Rocky View. Christie Park was established as a neighbourhood in 1990. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 6 councillor.

Glenbrook is a residential neighbourhood in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bounded by 26 Avenue S to the north, 37 Street W to the east, Richmond Road to the south and Sarcee Trail to the west. The land was partly annexed to the City of Calgary in 1954, and partly in 1956. Glenbrook was established in 1958. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 6 councillor.

Westbrook Mall is a shopping centre in Calgary, Alberta. Its anchors are Safeway and Walmart. The Westbrook Station on the West Line of the C-Train is located adjacent to the mall. The mall was originally opened in 1964 but was renovated in 2002.

Calgary-Currie is a provincial electoral district in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It was created in 1971 and is mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting. The district is currently represented by Janet Eremenko, a member of the Alberta New Democratic Party (NDP) who was elected in the 2023 Alberta general election.

CKCE-FM (101.5 FM, 101.5 Today Radio) is a radio station in Calgary. Owned by the Jim Pattison Group, it broadcasts a hot adult contemporary format. CKCE's studios are located on 58th Avenue Southwest in Calgary, while its transmitter is located on Patina Hill Drive Southwest in the Prominence Point neighbourhood in western Calgary. As of Winter 2020, CKCE is the third-most-listened-to radio station in the Calgary market according to a PPM data report released by Numeris.
