Allen's Corners is an unincorporated community in Kane County, Illinois, United States. Allen's Corner is a landmark of the Allen family, the first settlers of Kane County in 1836. First known as blacksmiths and farmers, the towing business was started in 1937. The community is located at the intersection of U.S. Route 20 and Allen and Brier Hill roads.

Hampshire High School (Illinois) (commonly referred to as Hampshire or HHS) is a public high school for students in grades 9 through 12 located in Hampshire, Illinois. Hampshire High School serves students from Hampshire and surrounding areas, including Gilberts, Pingree Grove, Carpentersville, Elgin, and Sleepy Hollow. The school is located at the northern edge of Hampshire. Hampshire High School is part of Community Unit School District 300, or D300, and is the newest of three high schools serving the district. Feeder schools to Hampshire include Hampshire Middle School and Dundee Middle School. The school is a member of the Illinois High School Association, Fox Valley Conference. The school colors are purple and white and the mascot is a Whippur, which is typically depicted as a panther or a puma.

Starks is an unincorporated community in Kane County in the U.S. state of Illinois, located just south of the McHenry County border. Hampshire lies to its northwest, and Pingree Grove lies to its southeast. In the Illinois highway system, Starks is noted for having a wrong-way concurrency. Westbound U.S. Route 20 and eastbound Illinois Route 72 are concurrent together with northbound Illinois Route 47 through Starks.

Pingree Grove ( PING-GREE) is a village in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 124 at the 2000 census. However, with rapid development in the following years, the 2010 census indicated 4,532 residents, and the 2020 census was 10,365.

Huntley High School is a public high school in Huntley, Illinois, United States. The catchment area includes Consolidated School District 158, which includes all of Huntley as well as parts of Lake in the Hills, Algonquin, and other surrounding communities and rural areas.

Rutland Township is one of sixteen townships in Kane County, Illinois. As of the 2010 census, its population was 18,806 and it contained 8,004 housing units. It was originally called Jackson Township; the name was changed to Rutland on July 2, 1850.

North Plato is an unincorporated community in Kane County, Illinois, United States, located directly northwest of Plato Center. It is about equidistant between Hampshire and Plato Center. The center of the community is located exactly near the intersection of Plank Road and Illinois Route 47.

Huntley is a village in McHenry and Kane counties, Illinois, United States. As of the 2021 census it had a population of 28,008. It is a part of the Chicago metropolitan area.

Harmony is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in McHenry County, Illinois, United States. Harmony is located on U.S. Route 20, 5 miles (8.0 km) west-southwest of Huntley. It was named a CDP before the 2020 census, at which time it had a population of 20.

The Robert and Elizabeth Muirhead House is a historic house located at 42W814 Rohrson Road northeast of Plato Center, Illinois. Built in 1951–53, the house was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in his Usonian style. Robert and Elizabeth Muirhead, the home's owners, had met Wright in 1948 while touring Taliesin, and the meeting inspired them to commission Wright to design their own home. The one-story house is horizontally oriented to match its flat surroundings, in keeping with Wright's design principles. Rows of casement windows and a wooden parapet along the roof add to the house's horizontal emphasis. The house's interior also includes several typical elements of Wright's work, including a deemphasized front entrance, floor-to-ceiling windows used to bring in additional light, and a sense of contrast and connection between rooms.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 12, 2016.

It is part of Central Community Unit School District 301, which serves Elgin, Lily Lake, Plato Center, Udina, Hampshire, Pingree Grove, Sycamore, Maple Park, Campton Hills, Burlington and far western portions of St. Charles.
