New Farm Loch

New Farm Loch was situated in a low-lying area between the farms of Holehouse and New Farm in the Parish of Kilmarnock, New Farm Loch, East Ayrshire in Scotland. The loch was mostly artificial, having been developed as a curling pond, fed by the Hillhouse Burn through seasonal flooding. The loch was drained via Holehouse Farm Burn.

Saint Josephs' Academy (Scottish Gaelic: Acadamaidh Naomh Iòsaph) is a Roman Catholic secondary school in New Farm Loch, Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire, Scotland. Whilst the school is located in Kilmarnock, it serves the entire Catholic secondary school aged population in East Ayrshire, with the school being the only Roman Catholic secondary school within the local authority area. This means for families in all areas of East Ayrshire, St. Joseph's Academy is a catchment Secondary school. A long-standing inter-authority arrangement sees a small number of primary seven pupils attending St. Xavier’s Primary School in Patna, transition to Queen Margaret Academy located in Ayr, South Ayrshire instead of Saint Josephs' Academy at the start of S1. The school is one of four Catholic secondary schools in the Diocese of Galloway, with the others being Queen Margaret Academy, Ayr, South Ayrshire, St Matthew's Academy, Saltcoats, North Ayrshire and St. Joseph's College, Dumfries, Dumfries and Galloway. In 2023, the school roll stood at 648 pupils, with an FTE allocation of 45.8FTE teaching staff. The school is supported by five priests from local parish communities.

Kay Park is a 30 acres (12 ha) park in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire, Scotland. The money for its purchase was bequeathed to the town of Kilmarnock by former native insurance broker Alexander Kay who died in Glasgow in January 1866.

Bonnyton Thistle Football Club is a Scottish football team based in the Bonnyton area in the town of Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire. They are members of the West of Scotland Football League, in the sixth tier of the Scottish football league system, having joined the league in 2020 from the South of Scotland Football League.Founded in 1912, they were previously a youth and amateur team. Their home ground is The Synergy Arena, located in the Townholm area of Kilmarnock, which has a capacity of 1,000. It was opened in 2017 to coincide with the club's move into senior football.

The Burns Monument in Kay Park, Kilmarnock, Scotland, commemorates the poet Robert Burns (1759–1796). It is located at an elevated position within Kay Park, to the east of Kilmarnock Town Centre. The monument was opened in 1879, and is a category B listed building. In 2004, following years of neglect by the local council, fire destroyed most of the building. What was left of the monument was incorporated into the new Burns Monument Centre which opened in 2009. In 2010 the centre was shortlisted for the Carbuncle Cup award run by Building Design.

The Dick Institute is a museum and library in Kilmarnock, Scotland. It is an important cultural venue in the south-west of Scotland, featuring the largest museum and art gallery space in Ayrshire as well as the central library for East Ayrshire.

Hurlford railway station was a railway station serving the village of Hurlford, East Ayrshire, Scotland. The station was originally part of the Glasgow, Paisley, Kilmarnock and Ayr Railway.

The Kilmarnock War Memorial is a war memorial located in Kilmarnock Scotland. Built in 1927, it pays tribute to all those who fought in the First World War, Second World War, Korean War & the Northern Ireland Conflict. The building is accessible to the public, although access is restricted to a degree. The key is available from the Dick Institute, Elmbank Avenue, Kilmarnock KA1 3BU. Located across the road directly opposite the War Memorial. Wall mounted inside are commemorative plaques to the following: First World War (1914-1918), Second World War (1939-1945), Second World War - civilians, Korean War (1950-1953), Northern Ireland Conflict; The Troubles (1969-1998) Source; [1] Inside there is a figure cast in bronze, ‘The Victor’, whose head is bowed in silent contemplation of the cost of war.Interior Description: Hall of Remembrance with ionic pillars at the entrance. Kilmarnock Academy (Scottish Gaelic: Acadamaidh Chille Mheàrnaig), formerly Kilmarnock Burgh School, is an 11–17 co-educational state-funded secondary school in Kilmarnock, Scotland, currently serving in its third location on Sutherland Drive in the New Farm Loch area of the town. Previous sites for Kilmarnock Academy include Green Street, erected in 1876, and Elmbank Drive, erected in 1898. The school can be traced back to the 1630s when it was known as 'Kilmarnock Burgh School'. In 2022, it was ranked as the 233rd best performing state school in Scotland, an increase from 247th in the 2021 league table rankings.Kilmarnock Academy is one of a few schools in the UK, and the first school in Scotland, to have educated several Nobel laureates: Alexander Fleming, discoverer of penicillin, and John Boyd Orr, 1st Baron Boyd-Orr, for his scientific research into nutrition and his work as the first Director-General of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). Kilmarnock Academy thus matches Eton College in the number of Nobel laureate graduates.The current head teacher is David Rose who was appointed in June 2015 on an acting basis, and was made permanent Head Teacher of Kilmarnock Academy (the newly formed school following merger with James Hamilton Academy) in April 2017.

Kilmarnock Infirmary was a general hospital in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire in Scotland. Opened in 1868, it was designed by renowned Kilmarnock architect William Atkinson Railton. In 1948, the National Health Service (NHS Scotland) was established, meaning Kilmarnock Infirmary had come under national control. Following hospital services for Kilmarnock and the surrounding population being transferred to Crosshouse Hospital in the early 1980s, Kilmarnock Infirmary closed in 1982.

Kilmarnock railway viaduct, known locally as The Viaduct, is a railway viaduct crossing the town centre of Kilmarnock, and was constructed between 1843 and 1850. The bridge begins at Kilmarnock railway station and leads to destinations in England. It is a most distinctive feature of the town centre with 23 masonry arches and defines the northern boundary of the town centre. It was built in the 1840s to enable the Glasgow–Kilmarnock line to continue to Carlisle.The structure is a Category B listed building and is owned by Historic Environment Scotland.

Kirklandside was a community hospital in the village of Hurlford a few miles out of Kilmarnock, Scotland. It was managed by NHS Ayrshire and Arran.
