Waialua, Hawaii

Waialua High and Intermediate School is a public intermediate and high school for grades 7–12 in the Waialua CDP in City and County of Honolulu, Hawaii on the Island of Oahu. The campus boasts the painted plastic mural A Waialua Day by Balazs Szabo and the mixed media sculpture Waialua from Ken Shutt's Konohiki Series.

The Kaukonahua Stream or Kaukonahua River is a 9.9-mile-long (15.9 km) river on the island of Oʻahu which is one of the Hawaiian Islands. Including its longer South Fork, the stream's total length is 28.0 miles (45.1 km). It flows down in a generally northwest direction, from 21°30′7″N 157°54′13″W into the Pacific Ocean. The North and South forks meet at coordinates 21°29′44″N 158°5′50″W. It is the longest river of the whole island group. It empties into Kaiʻaka Bay near Waialua, Hawaii.

Haleʻiwa (Hawaiian pronunciation: [həleˈʔivə]) is a North Shore community and census-designated place (CDP) in the Waialua District of the island of Oʻahu, City and County of Honolulu. Haleʻiwa is located on Waialua Bay, the mouth of Anahulu Stream (also known as Anahulu River). A small boat harbor is located here, and the shore of the bay is surrounded by Haleʻiwa Beach Park (north side) and Haleʻiwa Aliʻi Beach Park (south side). Further west from the center of town is Kaiaka State Recreation Area on Kiaka Point beside Kaiaka Bay. As of the 2020 census, the CDP had a population of 4,941. The 2018 estimate was 4,040. It is the largest commercial center on the North Shore of the island. Its old plantation town character is preserved in many of the buildings, making this a popular destination for tourists and residents alike, visiting surfing paddle boarding and diving sites along the north shore. Mokulēʻia (Hawaiian pronunciation: [mokuleːˈʔijə]) is a North Shore community and census-designated place (CDP) in the Waialua District on the island of Oʻahu, City & County of Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, United States. Mokulēʻia means "isle [of] abundance" in Hawaiian. As of the 2020 census, the CDP had a population of 1,816. Features of interest here include Mokulēʻia Beach, Mokulēʻia Polo Field, and Dillingham Airfield, west of the town. At the western end of Farrington Highway, approximately 1-mile (1.6 km) beyond Dillingham Airfield entrance, begins the track (trail) to Kaʻena Point, the westernmost tip of Oʻahu. Liliʻuokalani Protestant Church is a historic United Church of Christ church in Haleiwa, Hawaii on the North Shore of Oahu. Its Hawaiian food is renowned including squid lūʻau. Live music and fellowship are also served. The church celebrated its 175th anniversary in 2007. Worship services are held on Sunday morning at 10 a.m.

The Anahulu River (also called Anahulu Stream) is a watercourse on the island of Oahu in the U.S. state of Hawaii. It is 7.1 miles (11.4 km) long. The Hawaiian meaning of the name is ten days.

On January 14, 2016, two Sikorsky CH-53E Super Stallion helicopters belonging to the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing of the United States Marine Corps collided over the Pacific Ocean off Oahu's North Shore in Hawaii. Each helicopter carried six U.S. Marines from Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 463. The search and rescue operation located the debris field from the two craft. On January 20, all twelve crew members were declared deceased.

Haleiwa Fighter Strip was a military airfield on Oahu, Hawaii. It was used as part of the island's defense in World War II.

Papailoa Beach, otherwise known as Police Beach, is located on the north shore of the island of Oahu in the Hawaiian Islands. It has gained notoriety as a prime filming location for the popular television show Lost. The production crew changed locations from the original beach (Mokuleia Beach) after the winter surf encroached upon the set constructed for the camp scenes.

The North Shore, in the context of geography of the Island of Oʻahu, refers to the north-facing coastal area of Oʻahu between Kaʻena Point and Kahuku. The largest settlement is Haleʻiwa. This area is best known for its massive waves, attracting surfers from all around the globe.
