Prince of Wales Halt railway station

The Roughs are an escarpment of the North Downs above Romney Marsh in Kent, on the south coast of England. The term is generally applied to the section between Hythe and West Hythe but the structure extends as far west as Bilsington, and the highest point is 106 m just west of Port Lympne Mansion A concrete sound disk (or Sound mirror) has been built in the hillside. This was used to listen out for approaching aircraft during World War II.

Palmarsh is a community (OS grid reference TR1333) in Folkestone and Hythe district, in the County of Kent, England. In origin it was a hamlet on the edge of the Romney Marsh, but modern development to the west of Hythe (mostly housing, together with some local shops) in a corridor along the A259 coastal road, has led to the joining together of the ancient town and cinque port of Hythe (to the east) and the rural hamlet of Palmarsh (to the west) in a single conurbation.

Hythe Town Football Club is a football club based in Hythe, Kent, England. They are currently members of the Isthmian League South East Division and play at the Reachfields Stadium.

Pedlinge is a hamlet on the edge of the village of Saltwood in Kent, England. It has its own church, though this is officially classified as a District Chapel-of-Ease since Pedlinge is part of the parish of Saltwood, and not a parish in its own right. The heart of the community is a collection of buildings comprising the church, a house, and two cottages. Nearby is the rear-entrance gatehouse to Sandling Park, though as of 2007, the gatehouse dwelling was derelict. The main house, Sandling Park, was also derelict for some time, but was rebuilt by the owner of the Sandling Estate, Alan Hardy. In 2007, the house was occupied by Carolyn Hardy. The community is dominated by Sandling Park, a large house and estate named after Saltwood's other hamlet, Sandling. The chapel at Pedlinge is traditionally the place of worship of the estate workers. It was commissioned by Laurence Hardy. The estate stretches from Sandling to Pedlinge.

Hythe station is the northern terminus of the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway. The station has curved platforms with an overall roof, loco release road, former engine shed (now an independent engineering works), signalbox with 16 lever frame, and a turntable. In terms of passenger bookings Hythe is the busiest station on the railway.Adjacent to the station the former station master's house is now a private residence. Situated between the station and the Royal Military Canal is The Light Railway Restaurant which was originally built by the railway company but sold before it was even completed. It was finally repurchased by the railway in February 2015.The station is situated to the south of the town on the A259 road to Folkestone, and follows the same alignment as the Royal Military Canal. The ancient Cinque Port offers shopping facilities with restaurants, cafes, pubs, banks, supermarkets, antique shops, general shops, swimming baths, gardens, parks and a seafront.

Brockhill Country Park is in Saltwood, near Hythe in Kent, England. The park was a former estate with landscaped gardens and has subsequently been sub-divided. The house now forms the main building for a performing arts college, whilst the gardens and lake now form part of the country park.

Brockhill Park Performing Arts College (BPPAC) is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Saltwood, Kent near the coastal town of Hythe. The school is located next to Brockhill Country Park and includes a farm. Brockhill is known not only for its farm, but its performing arts status and tough cross country running course as well as its neighbouring country park. It is a specialist Performing Arts College with a rural dimension.

Hythe Lifeboat Station was located at the eastern end of West Parade, in the market town of Hythe, which is situated 7 miles (11 km) west of Folkestone, on the Kent coast. A lifeboat station was first established here in 1893 by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), following the closure of the Hythe, Sandgate & Folkestone station at Seabrook. Hythe lifeboat station was closed in 1940, after the lifeboat was lost during the Dunkirk evacuation.

West Hythe is a hamlet and former civil parish, now in the parish of Hythe, in the Folkestone and Hythe district, in Kent, England, near Palmarsh and a few miles west of the cinque port town of Hythe. In 2020 it had an estimated population of 566.

Dymchurch Grand Redoubt is a fortification at Palmarsh on the coast of Kent in England, built during the Napoleonic War as part of a large defensive scheme to protect the country from an expected French invasion.

Lympne Escarpment is a 140.2-hectare (346-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest west of Hythe in Kent. Part of it is the remains of a Saxon Shore fort now called Stutfall Castle, which is a Scheduled Monument.This steeply sloping site has woodland and grassland on Kentish ragstone, with many springs and flushes at the base. It is close to the sea, and the resulting high humidity allows plants such as stinking iris, which are usually confined to woods, to grow in grassland.Public footpaths cross the site.

Botolphs Bridge Halt railway station was a little-used station on the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway in Kent, England. Botolphs Bridge or Botolph's Bridge is a hamlet on the Romney Marsh, consisting of a small group of family homes and a public house. Although the railway passes some distance from the settlement, the long road from the hamlet to the coast is called "Botolphs Bridge Road", and intersects the railway at a level crossing. Here a small halt was provided when the line opened in 1927, with a single wooden waiting shelter for the convenience of passengers. The halt was closed in 1939 due to very low traffic figures. The manner of its closure was somewhat spectacular, and well reported locally at the time. Captain Howey, the railway's founder and principal shareholder, declared the station closed, instructed train drivers not to stop there, and then set fire to the wooden shelter. With no public warning of the impending closure, the flames and smoke prompted an emergency call to the Fire Brigade, who turned out an appliance and crew. The firemen were very surprised to arrive on scene and discover the burning building's owner with a box of matches.
