The Académie de la Grande Chaumière is an art school in the Montparnasse district of Paris, France.

Librairie Orientaliste Paul Geuthner is a French bookstore and publishing house founded in Paris in 1901 by the eponymous publisher, Paul Geuthner, a Saxon from Leipzig, who was naturalized French in 1914 and died in 1949.Librairie Orientaliste Paul Geuthner specializes in oriental studies, it publishes mainly essays, texts, manuals of ancient languages and travel accounts on the Near, Middle and Far East.

Reid Hall is a complex of academic facilities owned and operated by Columbia University that is located in the Montparnasse quartier of Paris, France. It houses the Columbia University Institute for Scholars at Reid Hall in addition to various graduate and undergraduate divisions of over a dozen American colleges and universities. For over a century, Reid Hall has served as a link between the academic communities of the United States and France.

The American Girls' Club in Paris was a boarding house for young American women aged eighteen to forty located at 4 Rue de Chevreuse in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, France. The club was founded in September 1893 by the American Elizabeth Mills Reid (wife of Whitelaw Reid, the former United States Ambassador to France) and Mrs. William Newhall. It purpose was to provide "place for meeting and for sociablllty for those who by reason of their unfamiliarity with the language and the people of the country must otherwise be lonely and be handicapped, by their ignorance.".Young women paid $30 per month for room and board. The club served tea at 4pm and taught evening lessons in French for one franc per day. It included libraries and an independent studio, although did not include enough space for a full bath. Students often studied at the Académie Julian and Académie de la Grande Chaumière art schools. The club closed with the onset of World War I and was converted to an American Red Cross hospital. The building is now owned by Columbia University as Reid Hall.

The Café de la Rotonde (French pronunciation: ​[kafe də la ʁɔtɔ̃d]) is a famous café in the Montparnasse Quarter of Paris, France. In its official website, La Rotonde defines itself as a "brasserie" and a restaurant. Located on the Carrefour Vavin, at the corner of Boulevard du Montparnasse and Boulevard Raspail, it was founded by Victor Libion in 1911. Along with Le Dome and La Coupole it was renowned as an intellectual gathering place for notable artists and writers during the interwar period.

The Académie Moderne was a free art school in Paris. It was founded by Fernand Léger and Amédée Ozenfant in 1924. The school attracted students from Europe and America. Both Léger and Ozenfant taught there, along with Aleksandra Ekster and Marie Laurencin.

Le Dôme Café (French pronunciation: ​[lə dom]) or Café du Dôme is a restaurant in Montparnasse, Paris. From the beginning of the 1900s, it was renowned as an intellectual gathering place. It was widely known as "the Anglo-American café." Opening in 1898, it was the first such café in Montparnasse. It "created and disseminated gossip, and provided message exchanges and an 'over the table' market that dealt in artistic and literary futures." It was frequented by the famous (and soon to be famous) painters, sculptors, writers, poets, models, art connoisseurs and dealers. Le Dôme later became the gathering place of the American literary colony and became a focal point for artists residing in Paris's Left Bank. A poor artist used to be able to get a Saucisse de Toulouse and a plate of mashed potatoes for $1. Today, it is a top fish restaurant (the Michelin Guide once gave it one star), with a comfortably old-fashioned decor. The food writer Patricia Wells said, "I could dine at Le Dôme once a week, feasting on platters of briny oysters and their incomparable sole meunière."

Vavin (French pronunciation: ​[vavɛ̃]) is a station of the Paris Métro on line 4 on the border of the 6th arrondissement and 14th arrondissement.

From 1916 to 1920, the Salle Huyghens located at 6 rue Huyghens in the 14th arrondissement of Paris, was the name given to the studio of painter Émile Lejeune (1885–1964) (former stables), which the latter put at the disposal of musicians, poets and painters friends to use as a theater and exhibition hall.The venue was occupied by the members of Les Six: (Georges Auric, Louis Durey, Arthur Honegger, Darius Milhaud, Francis Poulenc and Germaine Tailleferre). It also gave young painters the opportunity to exhibit their first works: Georges Braque, Juan Gris, Amedeo Modigliani, and Pablo Picasso. Some evenings also included declamations by fashionable poets, such as Jean Cocteau or Blaise Cendrars. The performances, called "Lyre et palettes" after the name of a collective named "Société lyre et palettes" created in 1916, were financed by Pierre Bertin, Blaise Cendrars, and Félix Delgrange. They welcomed a diverse public, very chic and very bohemian, like the Montparnasse district at its peak. Delgrange had abandoned the cello to devote himself entirely to the cause of the nascent art. He also organized concerts in the Salle Huyghens. The benches without backs were uncomfortable, the atmosphere was unbreathable because of smoke from the stove, but any high society of Paris, both the artists and the new music lovers, played elbows to be there.

The Dingo American Bar and Restaurant at 10 rue Delambre in the Montparnasse Quarter of Paris, France opened its doors in 1923. Most commonly called the Dingo Bar, it was one of the few drinking establishments at the time that was open all night. It became the favorite haunt of the many English-speaking artists and writers who gathered in Paris during the 1920s and 1930s.As recorded by Ernest Hemingway in his book A Moveable Feast, he first met F. Scott Fitzgerald at the Dingo Bar in late April 1925, two weeks after the publication of Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby. Others who frequented the Dingo Bar included Pablo Picasso, Aleister Crowley, Nancy Cunard and Isadora Duncan would come over from her apartment across the street. James "Jimmie" Charters, a former English lightweight boxer from Liverpool was the highly popular barman at the Dingo and was responsible for much of its success. Charters' "This Must Be the Place; Memoirs of Montparnasse" was published in 1934, edited by Morrill Cody with an introduction by Ernest Hemingway, republished 1937, then 1989. The premises that was home to the Dingo Bar remains, but today is occupied by L'Auberge de Venise, an Italian restaurant.

The Musée Zadkine is a museum dedicated to the work of Russian sculptor Ossip Zadkine (1890–1967). It is located near the Jardin du Luxembourg in the 6th arrondissement at 100 bis, rue d'Assas, Paris, France, and open daily except Monday; an admission fee is only charged during exhibitions. The museum also contains a fine garden, with no charge for entry. The nearest métro and RER stations are Port-Royal and Vavin. The museum was established by Valentine Prax, Zadkine's wife, who willed their home and studio since 1928, as well as his personal collection, to the City of Paris. The museum was inaugurated in 1982 following her death, and has subsequently augmented its collection through purchases. It now contains about 300 sculptures, as well as drawings, photographs, and tapestries. Since 1995 the museum has also presented 3 to 4 exhibits of contemporary art each year. The Museum underwent renovations in 2012 to ensure its accessibility to all visitors. It re-opened its doors for its thirtieth anniversary on October 10, 2012. The new museography was designed to more closely reflect the spirit of the workshop. Zadkine Museum is one of the 14 City of Paris' Museums that have been incorporated since January 1, 2013 in the public institution Paris Musées.

La Coupole is a famous brasserie in Montparnasse in Paris. It was founded in 1927 during the Roaring Twenties when Montparnasse housed a large artistic and literary community – expatriates and members of the Lost Generation. They decorated the place in the contemporary art deco style and were regular patrons.
