The Ferdinand Magellan (also known as U.S. Car. No. 1) is a former Pullman Company private car that served as Presidential Rail Car, U.S. Number 1 from 1943 until 1958. It is named after the Portuguese explorer. The current owner, Gold Coast Railroad Museum in Miami-Dade County, Florida, acquired it in 1959. The Ferdinand Magellan was designated a National Historic Landmark by the United States Department of the Interior, National Park Service on February 4, 1985.

The Naval Lighter Than Air Station Richmond was a South Florida military installation about 18 miles (29 km) south of Miami and 3.5 miles (5.6 km) west of US 1. It was an active air base during World War II. Since 1948, the University of Miami has used it as a research facility and storage area.

The Center for Southeastern Tropical Advanced Remote Sensing (CSTARS) is a ground station owned by the University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science that receives imagery data from a variety of remote sensing satellites. CSTARS is located on the University of Miami's Richmond campus in Miami, Florida at 25.6137°N 80.384°W / 25.6137; -80.384.

Wings Over Miami is a flying aviation museum of historically significant aircraft, located at Miami Executive Airport in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States, 13 mi (21 km) southwest of the central business district of Miami.

Miami Executive Airport, formerly known until 2014 as Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport, (IATA: TMB, ICAO: KTMB, FAA LID: TMB) is a public airport in unincorporated Miami-Dade County, Florida, 13 miles (21 km) southwest of Downtown Miami. It is operated by the Miami-Dade Aviation Department. The airport opened on November 18, 1967, replacing Tamiami Airport, next to the Tamiami Trail. Growth of the surrounding area and the nearby flight path to Miami International Airport had forced the move to the southwest, near the community of Kendall. Florida International University is now on the site of the old Tamiami Airport. Kendall-Tamiami airport is owned and operated by the Miami-Dade Aviation Department. 450 aircraft are based there, mostly single-engine light aircraft. The airport is a port of entry with U.S. Customs personnel on hand, although it is not certified for airline use. In recent years it has become popular as a corporate aviation terminal.
