Charnwood Museum is a local history museum in Loughborough, Leicestershire, England.

The Sockman (commissioned as The Sock) is a bronze statue in Loughborough town centre. The sculpture depicts a man seated on a bollard, naked except for the eponymous sock on his left foot. The sock is symbolic of Loughborough's hosiery industry, and the plinth is engraved with images of the town's history. The piece has become iconic, and is used as a symbol for Loughborough.

Loughborough ( LUF-bə-rə) is a market town in the Charnwood Borough of Leicestershire, England, the seat of Charnwood Borough Council, and the location of Loughborough University. At the 2021 census the town's built-up area had a population of 64,884, the second largest in the county after Leicester. Loughborough is close to the Nottinghamshire border and short distances from Leicester, Nottingham, East Midlands Airport, and Derby. It has the world's largest bell foundry, John Taylor Bellfounders, which produced Great Paul at St Paul's Cathedral, as well as making bells for the Carillon War Memorial, a landmark in the Queens Park in the town, and for York Minster.

The Brush Ground was a cricket ground in Loughborough, Leicestershire. Owned by the Brush Electrical Machines Company and used by the company cricket team, it was used as an outground by Leicestershire. They first played there in a first-class match against Hampshire in the 1953 County Championship. Leicestershire played there at least once a year (with the exception of 1964) until 1965, playing sixteen first-class matches. The ground was later purchased by Leicestershire County Council in 2017, with the ground redeveloped for residential purposes. The sports club moved to new premises three–times the size Nanpantan Road in Loughborough.

The Loughborough Town Hall is a building fronting onto the Market Place in Loughborough, Leicestershire, England. Built as a corn exchange and ballroom in 1855, it later became a municipal building and subsequently a theatre. It is a Grade II listed building. The building is still used for full council meetings of Charnwood Borough Council.

Shelthorpe (Shelly) is a large council estate south of the town centre of Loughborough in Leicestershire. Split in half by Epinal Way, the majority of Shelthorpe estate lies along and off Shelthorpe Road, Park Road and Beaumont Road. The estate has its own chemist, doctors, post office, and a variety of other shops and businesses the estate also includes a 3 schools and over 5 nursery, pre-schools and daycare services. The estate is a few hundred yards south of the town centre, and can be reached along Park Road, Leicester Road or the footpath through Loughborough Grammar School. The area is served by three churches all located on Park Road - The Good Shepherd (Church of England), Beacon Christian Centre (Pentecostal) and Sacred Heart (Roman Catholic). Shelthorpe has its own community association, which along with the local authorities helps to improve and enhance the facilities and living standard of the residents of Shelthorpe.

St Mary's Church or St Mary of the Annunciation Church is a Roman Catholic parish church in Loughborough, Leicestershire, England. It was built in 1834 in the neoclassical style and has been served by the Rosminians since 1841, it was their first church in the UK, and outside of Italy. It is located opposite the junction of Ashby Road and Radmoor Road to the west of the town centre. It is a Grade II listed building.

Charnwood is a local government district with borough status in the north of Leicestershire, England. It is named after Charnwood Forest, much of which lies within the borough. The council is based in Loughborough, the area's largest town. The borough also contains the towns of Shepshed and Syston, along with numerous villages and surrounding rural areas. In the south of the borough it includes parts of the Leicester Urban Area, notably at Birstall and Thurmaston. The neighbouring districts are Melton, Harborough, Leicester, Blaby, Hinckley and Bosworth, North West Leicestershire and Rushcliffe.

Limehurst Academy (formerly Limehurst High School) is a mixed secondary school located in Loughborough in the English county of Leicestershire.It was previously a community middle school called Limehurst High School which was administered by Leicestershire County Council. The school converted to academy status in September 2011 and was renamed Limehurst Academy, however the school continues to coordinate with Leicestershire County Council for admissions. In September 2013 Limehurst Academy converted from being a middle school for pupils aged 11 to 14 to a secondary school for pupils up to the age of 16.Limehurst Academy offers GCSEs and BTECs as programmes of study for pupils, as well as some vocational courses offered in conjunction with Loughborough College. The school also has a specialism in sports and has links with local sports clubs and coaches to support the specialism.

Loughborough High School is a selective, independent school for girls in Loughborough, Leicestershire, England. It is one of four independent schools known collectively as the Loughborough Schools Foundation (LSF), Loughborough Grammar School for boys, Fairfield Preparatory School and Loughborough Amherst School. All four of the Schools are autonomous, and yet they share the same vision and educational ethos, supported by a united board of governors. Founded in 1850, it is believed to be one of the country's oldest grammar schools for girls.

Burleigh Fields in Loughborough, England was the home of the Johnson family from the 18th century until 1867. There are differing views as to exactly when the house was built, with some saying 1718 and others 1768.

The Loughborough Canal and Boat Festival was an annual event that was held in Loughborough, England, every year from 1997 to 2014, every year since except for 2001 due to that year's foot and mouth crisis. The Canal and Boat festival was started as part of a campaign by the Loughborough Echo in 1997 to draw attention to redevelopment plans which would have involved the infilling of part of the Canal System. The plans by Charnwood Borough Council were subsequently abandoned. The festival was centred on a location known as Chain Bridge in Loughborough. This point is the intersection of the Loughborough Navigation, the Leicester Navigation and Loughborough Wharf of the Grand Union Canal. The fair typically ran for the first weekend in May of each year and attracted boaters from around the country, many arriving a week earlier to secure moorings. During the weekend there were various stalls providing food, drink, music, entertainment and demonstrations. On the Saturday night the boats were illuminated. The festival was the largest to be held in the Midlands with approximately 10,000 people attending.
