Clinton is a village in Rock County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,221 in the 2020 census. The village is located within the town of Clinton. The Norwegian-American Jefferson Prairie Settlement was located near the village.

The Richardson-Brinkman Cobblestone House, located at 607 W. Milwaukee Rd. in Clinton, Wisconsin, United States, is a cobblestone house in Greek Revival style that was built in 1843. It has also been known as simply Cobblestone House. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. The listing included two contributing buildings.

The John Smith House is an Italianate-style house built in 1869 in Clinton, Wisconsin. In 1985 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places and in 1989 to the State Register of Historic Places.The state's survey form calls the Smith house "one of the best and earliest Italianate houses in Clinton." It stands two stories, with brick walls on a foundation of rough-cut limestone. The windows' hoodmoulds are rounded. At the top of the wall is a frieze with paired brackets supporting broad horizontal eaves, a hallmark of Italianate style.

The Samuel S. Jones Cobblestone House is a large Greek Revival-styled farmhouse built in Clinton, Wisconsin in the late 1840s. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 and on the State Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The town was named by William C. Chase, one of the original settlers, for his birthplace in Orange County, Vermont.

This site and the nearby Rock Prairie settlement outside Orfordville served as centers for both Norwegian immigration and developments within the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The unincorporated community of Bergen is in the vicinity of Jefferson Prairie Settlement.

Avalon is an unincorporated community located in the Town of Bradford, Rock County, Wisconsin, United States. It is located along Wisconsin Highway 140 north of Clinton and south of Emerald Grove. Avalon is served by the Wisconsin and Southern Railroad.

Tiffany is a town in Dunn County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 617 at the time of the 2020 census. The villages of Boyceville and Downing are adjacent to the town.

Shopiere Congregational Church is a historic Congregational church in Shopiere, Wisconsin, United States. It was built in 1853 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.The Shopiere congregation was established in 1844 by Reverend Stephen Peet, riding over from Beloit. The members initially met in a log schoolhouse, then in a small chapel which they built at the south end of the church before the church was built. In 1850 they began constructing the main block of the building pictured.That main block has walls of rough-cut locally quarried limestone laid in courses. Its style is simple Greek Revival, suggested by the pitch of the roof, the frieze board, and the entablature in the gable end. The main block was completed in 1853 at a cost of $2,000. The tower at the front was added in the following years, rectangular and wooden with two round-arched windows on the front and an entry door on each side. Resting on the tower is an octagonal belfry, and from that rises a graceful steeple topped with a cross. The style of the tower and belfry are rather unusual for Wisconsin, and may result from some early members' New England origins. In 1871 the tall Gothic-styled pointed-arch windows were added on the sides of the church, and the original chapel at the back was replaced with a new chapel.Louis P. Harvey, briefly governor of Wisconsin during the Civil War, is the most famous member of the Shopiere congregation. Today the church is probably the second oldest continuously used church in Rock County.

Shopiere is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in the Town of Turtle, in Rock County, Wisconsin, United States. It was first named a CDP at the 2020 census, which showed a population of 154.

The Erastus Dean Farmstead in Bradford, Wisconsin is probably the oldest complex of farm buildings in Rock County, with the house built in 1840 and the barn in 1844. The farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 and on the State Register of Historic Places in 1989.Erastus Dean came to Emerald Grove from Vermont in the winter of 1837-1838 after an early career which included mission work among the Cherokees in Tennessee. He was the first settler in Bradford township. About 1840 he began to build the house that still stands. He built a store in Emerald Grove and eventually bought 1,000 acres from the government at $1.25 per acre.Erastus built the first 24x24 foot section of the house from oak logs he cut nearby and squared to six by eight inch timbers, according to his grandson William Allen Dean. He clad the house in siding sawed in Milwaukee, which was the nearest sawmill at that time, and built the 14x24-foot limestone addition soon after. The resulting structure is 1.5 stories, with a saltbox profile, unadorned. Three families lived in the house the first winter, school was taught in one room, and the house hosted the first church services in the area. The grandson heard that an Indian trail ran through the yard and passing Indians sometimes slept on the floor in the house.About 1844 the main barn was added, 60x64 feet, framed with hand-squared timbers, with space for horses and cattle below and a hay mow above. East of the main barn is a tobacco barn, 63x42 feet, built in the 1800s. East of that is a horse or sheep barn and other structures.
