Plainville High School is a public high school in Plainville, Connecticut. It is the only high school in the town of Plainville, Connecticut.

It is owned by the town of Plainville and is located two nautical miles (4 km) north of its central business district. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021, in which it is categorized as a local reliever airport facility.It is primarily used for general aviation, charter flights, and flight training.

The Congregational Church of Plainville is a historic church building at 130 West Main Street in Plainville, Connecticut. Built in 1850, it is one Connecticut architect Henry Austin's significant church designs, exhibiting a mix of Carpenter Gothic and Romanesque features. It was built for a congregation formally organized in 1839 that is now affiliated with the United Church of Christ. The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

1010 Shuttle Meadow Road is a historic house at 1010 Shuttle Meadow Road in Southington, Connecticut. Built about 1772, it is one of the town's few surviving 18th-century houses. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Bradley Mountain, 700 feet (210 m), is a traprock mountain located 3 miles (5 km) west of New Britain, Connecticut, United States, in the towns of Southington and Plainville. It is part of the narrow, linear Metacomet Ridge that extends from Long Island Sound near New Haven, Connecticut, north through the Connecticut River Valley of Massachusetts to the Vermont border. Bradley Mountain, popular as an outdoor recreation destination in the metropolitan Hartford/ New Britain area, is known for its clifftop scenic vistas overlooking Plainville Reservoir, unique microclimate ecosystems, and rare plant communities. Bradley Mountain is traversed by the 62.7-mile (101 km) Metacomet Trail.

The CSB Media Arts Center was originally founded as Connecticut School of Broadcasting in 1964 by Dick Robinson as a small, private school in Connecticut. Known now as the CSB Media Arts Center, it is the largest group of Digital Media Arts Schools (Broadcast Media School, Code School, Social Media Marketing School, and Film Schools) that trains students for careers in emerging technologies. The Web Developer Program prepares students for entry-level work as a Jr. Web Developer. Learn to code. The full stack course is taught by industry professionals, and the curriculum was chosen specifically to suit the needs of the local job market. Students learn to understand coding logic using PHP and JavaScript, web design using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap ,and relational databases using SQL. The Social Media Marketing Specialist Program teaches students how to use social media as a tool to increase brand awareness, obtain leads, and increase sales. The Digital Filmmaking Program trains students how to write, shoot, direct, and edit their own short, character-driven comedy, drama, or horror short films. Students can also have the option of creating a television pilot. Students will shoot on HD cameras, learn industry standard lighting techniques, and edit on Adobe Premiere Pro. Students train in small group classes and are taught by industry professionals. The training program has four main components: screen-writing, pre-production, production, and post-production. The CSB Media Arts Center has five campuses in CT, NJ, NC, and FL of the United States. Not all campuses offer the same programs.

It is part of the narrow, linear Metacomet Ridge that extends from Long Island Sound near New Haven, Connecticut, north through the Connecticut River Valley of Massachusetts to the Vermont border. Pinnacle Rock, popular as an outdoor recreation destination in the metropolitan Hartford area, is known for its clifftop scenic vistas, unique microclimate ecosystems, rare plant communities, and as a seasonal raptor migration path. Pinnacle Rock is traversed by the 51-mile (82 km) Metacomet Trail. Pinnacle Rock should not be confused with The Pinnacle, a name used for two other peaks also on the Metacomet Ridge in Connecticut (on Talcott Mountain and Higby Mountain).

The Icabod Bradley House is a historic building at 537 Shuttle Meadow Road in Southington, Connecticut. Built in 1813, it is a good local example of transitional Colonial-Federal architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The Shade Swamp Shelter is a historic rustic shelter on the north side United States Route 6, just east of New Britain Avenue in Farmington, Connecticut. Built in 1934 by a crew of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), it is one of the state's finest examples of the CCC's Rustic architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The Charles H. Norton House, also known as Sharpenhoe, is a historic house at 132 Redstone Hill in Plainville, Connecticut. Built in 1922, this brick Georgian Revival house was the home of inventor and machinist Charles Hotchkiss Norton (1851–1942), a Plainville native, from 1922 until his death. The house was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1976 for its association with Norton, who designed heavy-duty precision grinding machines important for development of the automobile industry.

The New Haven District Campground, also known as the Plainville Campground, is a historic Methodist camp meeting site on Gladding Avenue in Plainville, Connecticut. Opened in 1865, the campground was used by Connecticut Methodists to partake in the 19th-century trend of religious and recreational camp meetings, and is now a secular community of summer homes. The campground was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 19, 1980.

Rattlesnake Mountain, a popular outdoor recreation resource of the metropolitan Hartford area, is known for its cliff-top scenic vistas, unique microclimate ecosystems, and rare plant communities. Will Warren's Den, a boulder cave located on the mountain, is a local historic site. Rattlesnake Mountain is traversed by the 51-mile (82 km) Metacomet Trail.
