The CSB Media Arts Center was originally founded as Connecticut School of Broadcasting in 1964 by Dick Robinson as a small, private school in Connecticut. Known now as the CSB Media Arts Center, it is the largest group of Digital Media Arts Schools (Broadcast Media School, Code School, Social Media Marketing School, and Film Schools) that trains students for careers in emerging technologies. The Web Developer Program prepares students for entry-level work as a Jr. Web Developer. Learn to code. The full stack course is taught by industry professionals, and the curriculum was chosen specifically to suit the needs of the local job market. Students learn to understand coding logic using PHP and JavaScript, web design using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap ,and relational databases using SQL. The Social Media Marketing Specialist Program teaches students how to use social media as a tool to increase brand awareness, obtain leads, and increase sales. The Digital Filmmaking Program trains students how to write, shoot, direct, and edit their own short, character-driven comedy, drama, or horror short films. Students can also have the option of creating a television pilot. Students will shoot on HD cameras, learn industry standard lighting techniques, and edit on Adobe Premiere Pro. Students train in small group classes and are taught by industry professionals. The training program has four main components: screen-writing, pre-production, production, and post-production. The CSB Media Arts Center has five campuses in CT, NJ, NC, and FL of the United States. Not all campuses offer the same programs.

Robertson Airport (FAA LID: 4B8), also known as Robertson Field, is a public use airport in Hartford County, Connecticut, United States. It is owned by the town of Plainville and is located two nautical miles (4 km) north of its central business district. The Pequabuck Bridge is a historic stone arch bridge, carrying a paved multiuse trail across the Pequabuck River in Farmington, Connecticut. Built in 1833, the bridge formerly carried the adjacent Meadow Road. It is one of the state's only surviving early 19th-century stone arch bridges and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The Pequabuck River is a river, approximately 19 miles (30.6 km) in length, which rises in Litchfield County, Connecticut, and courses through neighboring Hartford County before emptying into the Farmington River in Farmington. The river has played a crucial role in the development of Plainville, Connecticut, in particular. The river's lower drainage basin consists of industrial and urban areas, and effluents from these areas pollute the river's waters. The Pequabuck drove a water wheel that provided 8 horsepower to the Upper Lock Shop in Plymouth, Connecticut, a facility which would eventually become the Lewis Lock Company in 1851 and, finally, the once-renowned Eagle Lock Company.: 55  The river banks were historically the site of one of United States' first malleable iron-producing units, known as Malleable Iron Works (later Andrew Terry and Company).: 88 

The Lewis Walpole Library in Farmington, Connecticut, possesses important collections of 18th-century British literary remains, including an unrivalled quantity of Horace Walpole's papers and effects from his estate at Strawberry Hill.The collections include 18th-century British books, manuscripts, prints, drawings, and paintings, as well as important examples of the decorative arts. They were gathered by Wilmarth Sheldon Lewis (1895–1979, a graduate of Yale in 1918) and his wife Annie Burr Lewis (1902–1959) in a group of 18th-century buildings at Farmington. The Lewis Walpole Library was presented to Yale University, of whose Library it forms a department. Wilmarth Sheldon Lewis also left two volumes of memoirs, much of them relevant to the library: Collectors Progress (1946) and One Man's Education (1967).The Library offers residential fellowships and travel grants, along with exhibitions, lectures, seminars, and colloquia.

Rattlesnake Mountain is a traprock mountain, 750 feet (230 m) above sea level, located 9 miles (14 km) southwest of Hartford, Connecticut, in the town of Farmington. It is part of the narrow, linear Metacomet Ridge that extends from Long Island Sound near New Haven, Connecticut, north through the Connecticut River Valley of Massachusetts to the Vermont border. Rattlesnake Mountain, a popular outdoor recreation resource of the metropolitan Hartford area, is known for its cliff-top scenic vistas, unique microclimate ecosystems, and rare plant communities. Will Warren's Den, a boulder cave located on the mountain, is a local historic site. Rattlesnake Mountain is traversed by the 51-mile (82 km) Metacomet Trail.

The Gen. George Cowles House, also known as the Solomon Cowles House, is a historic house at 130 Main Street in Farmington, Connecticut. Built in 1803, it is a prominent local example of Federal style architecture in brick, built for a prominent local family. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 11, 1982.

WJMJ (88.9 MHz) is a non-profit, non-commercial, FM radio station licensed to Hartford, Connecticut. It is owned by St. Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield, Connecticut, which in turn is owned by the Archdiocese of Hartford. The transmitter tower is atop Johnnycake Mountain in Burlington, Connecticut. The station has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 2,300 watts. For its programming to be heard in other parts of Connecticut, WJMJ has FM translators on 107.1 in New Haven and on 93.1 in Hamden. It is also heard on a digital subchannel of 91.1 WSHU-FM-HD3 in Fairfield, Connecticut. In addition, WJMJ streams online. The JMJ in the call sign stands for Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. The daytime programming consists of "music you can't hear anywhere else," including soft adult contemporary and soft oldies, hosted by local disc jockeys. Nighttime and Sunday specialty programs feature classical music, adult standards and Roman Catholic talk and teaching shows. Hourly updates come from ABC News Radio. Periodic fundraisers are held on the air to support the station's finances. The station's slogan is “Catholic Radio – Where Faith Meets Life”.

WHCT-LD, virtual and UHF digital channel 35, is a low-powered MeTV owned-and-operated television station dually licensed to Hartford and New Haven, Connecticut, United States. The station is owned by Chicago-based Weigel Broadcasting. WHCT-LD's transmitter is located on Rattlesnake Mountain in Farmington.

WVIT (channel 30) is a television station licensed to New Britain, Connecticut, United States, serving as the NBC outlet for the Hartford–New Haven market. It is owned and operated by the network's NBC Owned Television Stations division alongside Class A Telemundo outlet WRDM-CD (channel 19). Both stations share studios on New Britain Avenue in West Hartford and transmitter facilities on Rattlesnake Mountain in Farmington, Connecticut.
