Summit County is a county located in the U.S. state of Colorado. As of the 2020 census, the population was 31,055. The county seat and largest town is Breckenridge.Summit County comprises the Breckenridge, CO Micropolitan Statistical Area.

The Silverthorne Micropolitan Statistical Area is a United States Census Bureau defined Micropolitan Statistical Area located in the Silverthorne area of the State of Colorado. The Silverthorne Micropolitan Statistical Area is defined as Summit County, Colorado. The Micropolitan Statistical Area had a population of 23,548 at the 2000 Census. A July 1, 2009 U.S. Census Bureau estimate placed the population at 27,239.The Silverthorne Micropolitan Statistical Area includes the Town of Silverthorne, the Town of Blue River, the Town of Breckenridge, the Town of Dillon, the Town of Frisco, the Town of Montezuma, and the unincorporated areas of Summit County.

Fort Mary B was the first permanent structure in the Breckenridge, Colorado area. It was a wooden stockade built by the first prospecting party in 1859 due to the presence of Ute people in the area. It was named Fort Mary B for Mary Bigelow, the only woman in the party. The stockade covered a couple of acres and had a log cabin at each corner. The first log cabin was built by Ruben Spalding. The town of Breckenridge was established one mile south of the site, which is near the Wells Fargo Bank.It was first called Fort Independent or Fort Independence. The fort is also said to have been called Fort Breckenridge and Fort Meribeh. The town charter only list two names for the former Breckenridge area: Fort Meribeh and Fort Mary B.

The Swan River is a short tributary of the Blue River, approximately 10 miles (16 km) long, located in the Rocky Mountains of central Colorado in the United States. The river drains a mountainous area in the upper basin of the Blue River in southern Summit County. It rises in three short forks along the continental divide in the Arapaho National Forest east of Breckenridge. It descends through a narrow valley to the west, joining the Blue from the east approximately 5 miles (8 km) north Breckenridge, along State Highway 9 between Breckenridge and Frisco. The valley of the river was historical site of mining camps during the late 19th century, with many remains of early camps and mine tailings remaining along the canyon walls.

Blue River is a Statutory Town located in Summit County, Colorado, United States. The town population was 877 at the 2020 United States Census. The town is located in the Blue River Valley.

Summit High School is a high school serving Summit County in the central Rocky Mountains of Colorado, United States. About 1,500 students attend the school from the surrounding mountain towns of Frisco, Dillon, Silverthorne, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Keystone and Summit Cove. Summit Middle School, located in Frisco, is the only feeder school for Summit High School. The high school is located 75 miles west of Denver, between Breckenridge and Frisco, near the Farmer's Korner housing subdivision. It sits at an elevation of 9,050' (2,758m). Timothy Ridder serves as the school's principal and Brittny Acres as the assistant principal. Summit High offers AP, IB, DP, and college-level courses through Colorado Mountain College. The high school has a variety of sports offered not limited to but including: rugby, lacrosse, football, basketball, swimming, wrestling and track and field.

Peak 10, elevation 13,640 ft (4,157 m), is a summit in the Tenmile Range of central Colorado. The peak is southwest of Breckenridge in the Arapaho National Forest. The lowest part of Peak 10 is serviced by Breckenridge Ski Resort's Falcon SuperChair.

Tiger is an extinct town in Summit County, in the U.S. state of Colorado. A post office called Tiger was established in 1919, and remained in operation until 1940. The community took its name from the Royal Tiger Mines Company. The town site was destroyed before 1995 by the Forest Service in order to be used as a snowmobile track.
