Hamngatan

PK-huset (formerly PK-bankens hus) is a combined office and department store building at Hamngatan and Norrlandsgatan at Norrmalm in Stockholm. Today the mainbuilding for Nordea.

Blanche Theatre or in Swedish Blancheteatern (before 1915 called Blanch's theater, and for a time the Vaudeville Theatre), was a private theater located in a building on West Tradgardsgatan next to Kungsträdgården in Stockholm, Sweden. The theater opened on March 31, 1879. It originally showed vaudeville but was changed to an arts venue around the mid-1880s. Under the leadership of Ernst Eklund 1917-1926 there was a successful blend of revues, classic dramas and debate. In its last years it was used as an alternative venue by the Swedish Royal Opera. The building was demolished in 1965 as part of a wholesale redevelopment of the Norrmalm district.

Nordiska Kompaniet (colloquially NK, and literally The Nordic Company) is the name of two department stores located in Stockholm and Gothenburg, in Sweden. The store in Stockholm receives some twelve million visitors annually, with the figure for the store in Gothenburg being about three million and the total number of staff around 1,200. The trademark and the real estate properties in Gothenburg and Stockholm are owned by Hufvudstaden AB, controlled by L E Lundbergföretagen publ (see Fredrik Lundberg). Nordiska Kompaniet was a founder and remained member of the International Association of department stores from 1928 to 1991.

Blanch's Café was a café in Stockholm, Sweden, located in a now demolished building on Hamngatan. The house that houses the establishment was built in 1866 according to plans of the architect Albert Törnqvist and was originally intended to house an exhibition and create studio space with large windows in the building's upper floors. The Art Society in Stockholm moved into the premises on 1868. However, Governor Theodore Blanch (1835-1911) opened Blanch's cafe on the ground floor in July 1868. The interior was elegant and airy, with crystal chandeliers, plush carpets and comfortable chairs. Live music was played every afternoon and foreign newspapers were laid out in the dining room. The building was replaced in the 1960s by Sverigehuset (Sweden House).

Norrlandsgatan is a street at Norrmalm, Stockholm. The street stretches from Birger Jarlsgatan to Hamngatan. The restaurant Fontainebleau was located at Norrlandsgatan until it was destroyed in a bombing on 31 December 1982.

The Matchstick Palace (Swedish: Tändstickspalatset) is an office building on Västra Trädgårdsgatan in Stockholm, Sweden.

Kungsträdgården (Swedish for "King's Garden") is a park in central Stockholm, Sweden. It is colloquially known as Kungsan. The park's central location and its outdoor cafés makes it one of the most popular hangouts and meeting places in Stockholm. It also hosts open-air concerts and events in summer, while offering an ice rink during winters. There is also a number of cafés, art galleries and restaurants; for example Galleri Doktor Glas, a name taken from the novel Doctor Glas by Hjalmar Söderberg published in 1905. The park is divided into four distinct spaces (south to north): (1) Square of Charles XII; (2) Molin's Fountain; (3); Square of Charles XIII and (4) "Fountain of Wolodarski" (which does not have an official name). The park is administered and events in it organized by the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.

Västra Trädgårdsgatan is a street at Norrmalm in Stockholm, Sweden. The street stretches from Kungsträdgården to Hamngatan and to Jakobsgatan. The Matchstick Palace is located on Västra Trädgårdsgatan.

Stockholms lyceum was a private secondary school (högre allmänt läroverk) in Stockholm, Sweden, functioning from 1839 until 1875. The Lyceum was opened in 1839 by Claes Olof Ramström. He transferred the school in 1851 to Dr Carl Johan Bohman and Dr Otto von Feilitzen, who ran the school until 1875, when it was merged with the Stockholms ateneum. During the period of joint rectorship of the latter two, the school had 1,426 pupils, of whom 265 continued to university and another 191 to the Karlberg War Academy. Alumni of the school include the writer August Strindberg (1849–1912), the poet Carl Snoilsky (1841–1903), the physician and writer Axel Munthe (1857–1949), the industrialist Oscar Lamm (1848–1930), and the palaeozoologist Gerhard Holm (1853–1926). In his autobiographical novel, The Son of a Servant (chapter 5), Strindberg contrasts the private Lyceum to the "terror regime" of the contemporary Swedish public schools. In the Lyceum corporal punishment was abolished and the pupils were treated as "thinking beings", were allowed to discuss issues with, and even contradict, the teachers. He notes that many of the boys came from the aristocracy (another occasion for the author to point out the perceived inferiority experienced by his alter ego Johan), but that the spirit of the school and the attitude of its principal was liberal and democratic.

Norrmalmstorg (pronounced [nɔrmalmsˈtɔrj]) is a town square in central Stockholm, Sweden. It connects shopping streets Hamngatan and Biblioteksgatan and is the starting point for tram travellers with the Djurgården line. Close to the southwest is the park Kungsträdgården. In the Swedish edition of Monopoly, Norrmalmstorg is the most expensive lot.The square is famous for the 1973 Norrmalmstorg robbery, in which events gave name to the Stockholm syndrome. The building in question is now occupied by the Nobis Hotel Stockholm.

Saint Eugenia's Church is a Roman Catholic church in the center of Stockholm (Sweden). It was built in 1982 on plans of the Danish architect Jørgen Kjaergaard and is situated next to the former Royal Gardens, Kungsträdgården in Norrmalm. The Church is consecrated to Saint Eugenia (Eugénie d’Alsace), an abbess (700-735) of the monastery Mont Sainte-Odile in Alsace (France). St. Eugenia's Parish was established in 1837 and is the oldest Catholic parish in Sweden since the reformation; as of 2010 it has approximately 9,000 members. Services are held in Swedish, English, Polish and Arabic. The operation of the church and pastoral care of the parish is overseen by Jesuits.

Hamburger Börs, or "Börsen", at Jakobsgatan in Stockholm is a stage for bar shows so called "krogshower" in Sweden. Many of Sweden's most famous singers have performed on the stage like Lill Lindfors, Monica Zetterlund, Povel Ramel, Lena Philipsson, Lill-Babs, Cornelis Vreeswijk, Björn Skifs and Jerry Williams. But also more world-famous singers like Sammy Davis Jr, Johnny Cash, Rod Stewart, Frank Sinatra and Liza Minnelli.Since the early 2000s, Hamburger Börs has been the stage for the satire show Roligt Elakt Aktuellt.
