Snelsmore Common is a 104-hectare (260-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north of Newbury in Berkshire. It is owned by West Berkshire Council and managed by the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust.This is a country park which has diverse habitats, including dry heath, wet heath, bog, birch woods and ancient semi-natural broadleaved woodland. The bog has a 5,000 year old layer of peat which has been studied stratigraphically to show changes in ancient land use and vegetation. An area of wet alder woodland has many lichens, including a rich community which grows on trees, such as Parmelia caperarta, Pertusaria pertusa and Lecanactis abietina.

Winterbourne Chalk Pit is a 0.05-hectare (0.12-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest west of Winterbourne in Berkshire. It is a Geological Conservation Review site. It is located within the North Wessex Downs.The chalk sediments date to the late Cretaceous period, about 80 million years ago. The pit is the only known area containing rocks of this age in the western part of the London Basin. It is rich in macrofossils, particularly belemnites. The site is private land with no public access.

Honey Bottom (also written as Honeybottom) is a hamlet in the civil parish of Shaw-cum-Donnington in the English county of Berkshire. The settlement lies approximately 2.5 miles (4.0 km) north-west of the town of Newbury, between the villages of Bagnor and Winterbourne. It covers the very north-eastern portion of the Donnington half of the parish of Shaw-cum-Donnington, on the southern edge of Snelsmore Common.

Mary Hare School is a residential co-educational Non-Maintained special school for deaf pupils in Newbury, Berkshire, England. It consists of around 230 pupils from Reception (age 4) to Year 13 (age 19).

Bussock Camp is the site of an Iron Age bivallate hillfort located in Berkshire, England. It has a double bank and ditch to the south and east, with only a single bank remaining the north and western sides. The entrance is to the north of the site and is believed to be original, and the site encloses approximately 11 acres.The site lies within a private estate on Phillip's Hill, and within Bussock Wood. There are various lanes and paths running through the wood, however none of them appear as public rights of way. There is a public bridle path that runs east to west, slightly to the south of the site. Apparently the site is accessible in May, when the woods are opened to the public to view the fine display of bluebells. It is thought that the site was occupied as early as the 6th century BC, and probably supported a fluctuating population of up to 300 ancient Britons over several hundred years. Bussock Hill and Bussock Hill House are sited close by on a slightly separate prominence to the south-east.

Snelsmore is a hamlet in Berkshire, England, and part of the civil parish of Chieveley. The settlement lies near to junction 13 of the M4 motorway, and is located approximately 3.5 miles (5.6 km) north of Newbury.

Bagnor is a village close to the town of Newbury in the English county of Berkshire and situated on the banks of the River Lambourn. At the 2011 census the population was included in the civil parish of Speen. It is best known as the home of the Watermill Theatre.

The Watermill Theatre is a repertory theatre in Bagnor, Berkshire. It opened in 1967 in Bagnor Mill, a converted watermill on the River Lambourn. As a producing house, the theatre has produced works that have subsequently moved on to the West End, including the 2004 revival of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

Rack Marsh is a 4-hectare (9.9-acre) nature reserve in Bagnor, on the north-western outskirts of Newbury in Berkshire. It is managed by the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust. It is part of Kennet and Lambourn Floodplain, which is a Biological Site of Special Scientific Interest, and a Nature Conservation Review site. It is also part of the Kennet and Lambourn Floodplain Special Area of Conservation.

Donnington Castle is a ruined medieval castle, situated in the small village of Donnington, just north of the town of Newbury in the English county of Berkshire. It was founded by Sir Richard Abberbury the Elder in 1386 and was bought by Thomas Chaucer before the castle was taken under royal control during the Tudor period. During the First English Civil War the castle was held by the royalist Sir John Boys and withstood an 18-month siege; after the garrison eventually surrendered, Parliament voted to demolish Donnington Castle in 1646. Only the gatehouse survives. The site is a scheduled monument under the care of English Heritage.

Donnington Grove is a Strawberry Hill Gothic mansion, now a hotel and country club, and associated Golf Course at Donnington in the civil parish of Shaw-cum-Donnington, near Newbury, in the English county of Berkshire. It is overlooked by Donnington Castle.

Woodspeen is a village in Berkshire, England, and part of the civil parish of Speen. The settlement lies near to the A34 road (Newbury Bypass), and is located approximately 2.5 miles (4.0 km) north-west of Newbury.
