Westbourne Green is an area of Westbourne, London, the centre of the former hamlet of Westbourne, at the north-western corner of the City of Westminster. It is named for its location west of a bourne (small stream).Traditionally a rural area, small-scale building had begun by the 17th century. In the early 19th century much more sustained development occurred as a result of the building of the Grand Union Canal and railways through the area.

Westbourne Studios is a Westbourne Park, West London office development of approximately 100 work spaces, aimed at young creative businesses in the Notting Hill area. Completed in January 2002, the studios were built on the site of the old Great Western Railway Broad Gauge sidings by Westbourne Park tube station. Dickon Robinson of the Peabody Trust described the studio's courtyard as "the most interesting internal space in London in the last decade". The building is a triangular, curvilinear structure in a deep shade of purple. In section, the profile is U-shaped with the Westway motorway crossing the building's centre, doubling as roof to the central social area. It was designed by Graham Clark architect for clients Nick and Simon Kirkham with John Tooke and Partners as structural engineers and Patrick Bellew of Atelier10 was the environmental engineer. Though the design was originally accredited to the Kirkhams in the press, retractions have been issued and Graham Clark has been acknowledged as the designer of the project.In addition to the office facilities, the building has a variety of communal spaces, a bar and café, an exhibition space and other amenities. It has hosted an opera, and is a venue for the Portobello Film Festival.

The Real World: London is the fourth season of MTV's reality television series The Real World, which focuses on a group of diverse strangers living together for several months in a different city each season, as cameras follow their lives and interpersonal relationships. It is the only season of The Real World to be filmed in the United Kingdom. The season featured seven people and is the first of four seasons of The Real World to be filmed entirely outside of the United States, being followed by The Real World: Paris in 2003, The Real World: Sydney in 2007, The Real World: Cancun in 2009. The cast moved into the Notting Hill Gate flat in January 1995, and lived there for five months, moving out in mid-June. The season premiered on June 28 of that year, and was viewed by 2.7 million people.Regarding following the emotional high points provided by the struggles of Pedro Zamora and David "Puck" Rainey the previous season, series co-creator Jon Murray stated, "In terms of big dramatic issues, there's no way we could match that. So this year plays on more of a Moonlighting, romantic-comedy kind of feel." The most notable event of the season occurs when cast member and singer Neil Forrester kisses a male heckler during a performance, who then bites the tip of Forrester's tongue off. This event earned Forrester a place among other reality television personalities who have been injured during filming on MTV's 2008 "E.R. All-Stars". The season also features a guest appearance by Blues Traveler, whose lead singer, John Popper, dedicates a song to cast member Jay Frank, an aspiring playwright and fan of the band.

The Windsor Castle is a former public house on Harrow Road, Maida Vale, London. It was a seminal rock venue throughout the 1960s and 1970s, with notable early performances from The Rolling Stones, The Who and U2. Despite now being derelict, the building is a designated heritage asset.

All Saints Road is a street in London's Notting Hill district, best known as being an important centre for the UK's Afro-Caribbean community. It runs north to south from Tavistock Crescent to Westbourne Park Road, and has junctions with Tavistock Road and Lancaster Road. It runs parallel to Portobello Road, but two streets to the east. In 1968, Trinidadian community activist and civil rights campaigner Frank Crichlow opened The Mangrove at No. 8, and by 1969 it was attracting serious police attention, leading to the arrest and trial of the Mangrove Nine in 1970–71.Dom Joly lived in a top-floor flat there from 1992 to 2004.The pop group All Saints were formed at a recording studio in the area. The British fashion retailer AllSaints, founded in 1994, takes its name from the street.

The Mangrove was a Caribbean restaurant in Notting Hill, London, England. It was founded in 1968 and run by civil rights activist Frank Crichlow, eventually closing in 1992. It is known for the trial of a group of British black activists dubbed "the Mangrove Nine", who were tried for inciting a riot at a 1970 protest against the police targeting the restaurant.

The Tabernacle is a Grade II-listed building in Powis Square, Notting Hill, west London, England, built in 1887 as a church. The building boasts a curved Romanesque façade of red brick and terracotta, and towers with broach spires on either side. Today the Tabernacle serves as a cultural arts and entertainment venue, including a theatre, meeting rooms, music studio, art gallery, bar and kitchen, conservatory and a garden courtyard.

The Ledbury is a restaurant located on Ledbury Road, Notting Hill, London, England. It held two Michelin stars from 2010 until 2020, when it lost them as they shut due to Covid-19 restrictions being impractical for the restaurant, making it ineligible for assessment by Michelin inspectors. It has also been featured in S.Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants. The head chef is Brett Graham, and he has been received favorably by critics. The restaurant reopened in February 2022, after being closed for almost 2 years.

Powis Square is a garden square and locality in Notting Hill, in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in London, England. The closest London Underground station to the square is Westbourne Park tube station. It was planned in the mid-19th century by noted local architect Thomas Allom. There is conflicting information as to whether the square was named, along with nearby Arundel Gardens and Talbot Road, after the Talbot family of the Earls of Shrewsbury, or after Powis Castle owing to the Welsh Marches origins of the land's leaseholder, W. K. Jenkins.Originally built as upper-middle class residences, the area experienced dramatic social decline in the 20th century and was described as being "largely a slum area" by the 1930s. The square and surrounding areas were later exploited by the notorious slum landlord Peter Rachman who, in the 1950s and 60s, had acquired many properties on the square and in the surrounding area.In 1968, the council bought the garden square after a series of 'break-ins' by activists campaigning for social change towards the end of slum-era Notting Hill. All Saints Notting Hill is a Church of England parish church in Talbot Road, Notting Hill, London. It is a Victorian Gothic Revival stone building with polychromatic decoration. The west tower has five stages with the stump of a spire, and the chancel has paintings by Henry Holiday.The church was badly damaged by enemy action during World War II but was fully restored by 1951. It is a Grade II* listed building.

Thameside Radio was an unlicensed radio station based in London. It launched in the winter of 1977, offering "very slick pop rock with competitions", according to Time Out. According to the Richmond and Twickenham Times, it broadcast from "a certain Notting Hill tower block" – a reference to Trellick Tower.The station received 30-40 letters each week and had an estimated listenership of around 20,000. It pioneered new music, and is noted by the New Musical Express for giving airplay to "Win a Night Out with a Well-Known Paranoiac" by Barry Andrews, which was subsequently picked up by BBC Radio 1.Increasing numbers of raids resulted in the station losing five transmitters in six months and the station ceased live transmission, instead taping its shows shortly before broadcast.Recordings of a number of Thameside Radio shows are held by the British Library.
