Hesperia, California

Hesperia High School is a public four-year high school within the Hesperia Unified School District located in Hesperia, San Bernardino County, California. It is one of seven comprehensive high schools in the district.The school currently is enrolled with less than 2,000 students in grades 9–12. Twice has the school's student body swelled to 4,000, forcing the HUSD to open Sultana High School, in 1995 and Oak Hills High School, in 2009. The school's official mascot is the scorpion and the colors are "Vegas gold" and black. Hesperia High School was the first high school to open in Hesperia, California in fall 1984, making it the oldest high school in the Hesperia Unified School District.The high school is currently making a transition to an academy-like structure. This academy will allow students to earn college credit; however, instead of going to a separate campus students will be able to attend during school hours. This provides the advantage for the students, because they will simultaneously earn college credit and their A through G requirements in order to graduate from high school. This is the first campus to offer this type of opportunity in the high desert.Hesperia High School was featured in a documentary called Shakespeare High about its drama department's success in the Shakespearean Festival in Southern California.

Desert Valley Hospital (DVH) is an 148-bed osteopathic acute care facility in the city of Victorville, San Bernardino County, California. It serves the Victor Valley region of the south−central Mojave Desert. DVH is currently owned and operated by Prime Healthcare Services, Inc. (PHS), a hospital management company located in Ontario, California. PHS was founded in 2001 by Prem Reddy, who is its present chairman of the board. The hospital is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association's Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program.

The Mall of Victor Valley is a shopping mall located in Victorville, California. It is owned and managed by Macerich. The mall is located near Interstate 15 and Bear Valley Road. The mall's anchor stores are JCPenney, Dick's Sporting Goods, Barnes & Noble, Macy's, and Cinemark Theatres. There is 1 vacant anchor store that was once Sears.

The Victor Valley College Solar Farm is a 1.26 MWp (1.02 MWAC) concentrator photovoltaics (CPV) power station in Victorville, California. Upon completion in May 2010 it was the largest CPV project installed in North America. It was built by Sachs Electric using 122 dual-axis SF-1100S systems, each of which contains 28 SF-1100 modules. Each module contains reflective optics to concentrate sunlight 650 times onto multi-junction solar cells, allowing a greater efficiency than other photovoltaic power plants. The farm was constructed under California Solar Initiative (CSI) incentives and the projected annual output of 2.3 GW·h partially satisfies electricity consumption at the college.

Summit Valley is a valley along SR 138 in the San Bernardino Mountains, east of Cajon Pass within San Bernardino County, California. Its mouth lies at an elevation of 3,048 feet (929 meters) west of the source of the Mojave River, at the confluence of the West Fork Mojave River and Deep Creek. The West Fork Mohave River descends from Silverwood Lake reservoir through the eastern part of Summit Valley to the confluence. The western half of Summit Valley narrows into what is called Horsethief Canyon, that reaches to the head of Summit Valley at 34°19′34″N 117°25′39″W, just east of the summit of Cajon Pass.

The Victor Valley is a valley in the Mojave Desert and subregion of the Inland Empire, in San Bernardino County in Southern California. It is located east of the Mojave's Antelope Valley, north of the Cajon Pass and the San Bernardino Valley, northeast of the San Gabriel Mountains, and northwest of the San Bernardino Mountains, and south of the Barstow area. The Mojave River flows northwards through the Victor Valley, primarily via underground aquifers.

KMPS (910 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Hesperia, California, and broadcasting to the Victor Valley area. It is owned by El Dorado Broadcasters and it simulcasts a Regional Mexican radio format with sister station KXVV 103.1 FM. KMPS's offices and studios are on Hesperia Road in Hesperia. KMPS is powered at 700 watts by day and 500 watts at night. It uses a directional antenna with a four-tower array. The transmitter is near Mesa Linda Street in Oak Hills.

Horsethief Canyon, is a canyon comprising the upper part of the Summit Valley in San Bernardino County, California. Its head lies at 34°19′33″N 117°25′38″W at an elevation of 3,800 feet just east of the summit of Cajon Pass, and its mouth at an elevation of 3,123 feet / 952 meters. California State Routes 138 and 173 pass through it. There is also a separate Horsethief Canyon in San Diego County, California, near Pine Valley, California and the Mexico–United States border. It is located in the Cleveland National Forest, in the Pine Creek Wilderness.
