Mt. Eden High School

Leadership Public Schools, Hayward (colloquially known as LPS, Hayward) is a charter high school in Hayward, California. Founded in 2005, it is one of four schools in the Leadership Public Schools charter network in the California Bay Area. In 2011, Intel named LPS, Hayward a finalist in mathematics for its Intel Schools of Distinction program.

St. Rose Hospital is an independent, non-profit hospital located in Hayward, California. It is a designated cardiac arrest receiving center in the Alameda County emergency medical services system, and provides basic emergency medical services.

Mt. Eden was an unincorporated agricultural district in Eden Township, Alameda County, California, United States. It was annexed by the City of Hayward. It lies at an elevation of 43 feet (13 m). Mt. Eden was founded in 1850 by a group of farmers from Mount Eden, Kentucky, drawn to California by the Gold Rush. The party disbanded upon reaching the San Francisco Bay, but a few settled at a road crossing where they nailed a sign "Mt. Eden" to two trees, and the name stuck. A post office opened in 1860 and was in continuous operation until 1953.

Schafer Park, California was an unincorporated suburban community absorbed into Hayward, California, at the same time as the acquisition of Mount Eden. It was named for A.W. Schafer, a German immigrant who purchased land in the area in the 1860s. The family sold its land to a real estate developer in the 1950s. Schafer Park was located between Hayward and Mount Eden.

KCRH (89.9 FM) is a radio station in Hayward, California, serving the Bay Area, primarily the East Bay. The station is owned by Chabot College and operated by students in its Mass Communications department.

Chabot College (Chabot or CC) is a public community college in Hayward, California. It is part of the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District.

Mt. Eden Cemetery is a cemetery in Hayward, California, in the area formerly called "Mt. Eden". The site was first established in 1860 as a pioneer cemetery. It is still in use. As of 2005, there were over 2,800 records (gravesites).

Southland Mall is a shopping mall in Hayward, California owned and managed by Brookfield Properties. The mall is anchored by JCPenney, and Macy's (formerly Liberty House). There is also a vacant anchors left by Sears and Dick's Sporting Goods, which prior to Dick's was Kohl's, and way before Mervyn's. The mall is primarily a single-level structure, with a small lower level beneath JCPenney, a movie theater, and free standing restaurants in the outlying parking areas. The center is located off Interstate 880 at Winton Avenue, at the western end of the city. On July 10, 2020, it was announced that Sears would be closing as part of a plan to close 28 stores nationwide.Most of Southland was developed in the early 1960s. The site incorporated a freestanding Sears location and a few other stores operating as the Palma Ceia Center (Palma Ceia being Portuguese for "Palm Supper", a reflection of the ethnic Portuguese heritage of Oakland and its newly developing suburbs) and a $20 million expansion program was announced in the fall of 1963, in which the facility would become an enclosed mall. The Taubman Company was the primary developer (the developer of Chicago's Evergreen Plaza was also a partner) and John Graham (architect of Seattle's Space Needle) the primary architect.

Alvarado (formerly, New Haven) is a former settlement in and former county seat of Alameda County, California, now part of Union City. It was located 5 miles (8 km) north-northwest of downtown Newark.In 1851, Henry C. Smith founded the town of New Haven, named after his father's home town of New Haven, Connecticut. In 1853, the town amalgamated with a nearby town called Alvarado, and became the county seat of the newly formed Alameda County. Alvarado was named for Juan Alvarado, Mexican Governor of California from 1836 to 1842. The first post office opened in 1853.On January 13, 1959, Alvarado and Decoto voted to incorporate as Union City, California.Though New Haven and Alvarado are both now part of Union City, the name of New Haven lives on in the New Haven Unified School District.

The California Beet Sugar Company (also known as the Standard Sugar Refining Company, Pacific Coast Sugar Company, Alameda Sugar Company, and the Holly Sugar Company) was the first successful sugar beet factory in the United States. It was located in Alvarado, which has been incorporated into the city of Union City and its site is on the California Historical Landmarks list.

The Hayward Hall of Justice is an Alameda County Superior Court building, located in Hayward, California. It is located in a complex of buildings which includes the Hayward Police Department, Hayward Unified School District offices, and the Hayward jail. Across Amador Street is a building which houses various social service offices, including the General Assistance office for Hayward. The courthouse is one of a number of locations for the Alameda County Superior Court system.It was built in 1975 to house offices for the Superior Court (prior to county court unification), and the former San Leandro/Hayward/Union City Municipal Court. It contains 20 court departments, the Alameda County sheriff and marshal's substation, and District Attorney offices. It is the largest full-service courthouse in Alameda County, hearing criminal, civil, juvenile, family law, and Proposition 36 drug court cases. Hayward traffic cases are now handled at the Fremont Hall of Justice in Fremont. One of the court's departments is located off site at John George Psychiatric Pavilion, for the adjudication of psychiatric holds on patients there.
