Asón-Agüera

Gibaja (pop. 385) is situated in the north of Spain, in the Autonomous Region of Cantabria. It belongs to the council of Ramales de la Victoria. Gibaja is formed by a series of neighborhoods, namely La Quintana, Pondra, Riancho, Bárcena and La Estación. Gibaja has its own train station on the railway line FEVE which connects Bilbao and Santander. Two rivers, the Asón and the Carranza, cross Gibaja. The first is one of the most important salmon rivers in Cantabria.

Cave del Valle (Spanish: Cueva del Valle, The Valley's Cave), locally also known as La Viejarrona (Old Girl), is located near El Cerro Village in the municipality of Rasines in Cantabria, northern Spain. The cave is the source of the Silencio River, a tributary of the Rio Ruahermosa, which in turn is a tributary of the Asón River. Notable for its prehistoric, but particularly for its speleologic significance as it is recognized as one of the longest cavities in the world. The site is very popular among cavers, who have explored a total of over 60 km (37.28 mi) so far.

Ramales de La Victoria is a municipality located in the autonomous community of Cantabria, Spain. The Battle of Ramales took place here in 1839 during the First Carlist War.

The Battle of Ramales, a battle of the First Carlist War, occurred at Ramales in Cantabria on May 12, 1839. The successful Liberals were commanded by Baldomero Espartero, the Carlists by Rafael Maroto.

The El Mirón Cave is a large cave in the upper Asón River valley towards the eastern end of Cantabria in northern Spain, near the border of the Basque country. It is an archeological site in Ramales de la Victoria. It is known for a skeleton belonging to a woman nicknamed The Red Lady of El Mirón. She is estimated to have died around 18,700 years ago, during the Upper Paleolithic (Magdalenian). The skeleton is estimated to be that of a woman between 35 and 40 years. Her bones were coated with ochre, a red iron-based pigment, hence, her name. The cave was discovered in 1903 by amateur archaeologists Hermilio Alcalde del Río and Lorenzo Sierra. It contains a rich collection of Upper Paleolithic art. Among the prominent art there are the engravings of a horse and possibly one of a bison. The first systematic excavation started only in 1996. The team of archaeologists, led by Lawrence Straus of the University of New Mexico and Manuel González Morales of the University of Cantabria, made a discovery of a number of prehistoric remains. The Red Lady was discovered in 2010. The cave contains a large limestone block towards the rear. A narrow space running through the block was the location of the skeleton.

Torca del Carlista (English: Carlista Cavern) is a large limestone cavern found in Cantabria, Spain, approximately 35 kilometres (22 mi) from the city of Bilbao. The entrance, up the slopes of the Cantabrian Mountains, is only a single metre (3 feet) wide. The entry passage descends some 45 metres (148 ft) vertically in a narrow chimney before opening up into the cavern's main gallery. Some 520 metres (1,710 ft) long and 245 metres (804 ft) wide, the total surface area of the cavern exceeds 20 acres, or 76,620 square metres (824,700 sq ft). The main chamber is the fifth-largest underground chamber in the world, with a ceiling that reaches 120 metres (390 ft) at its highest point.

Lanestosa is a town and municipality located in the province of Biscay, in the autonomous community of Basque Country, northern Spain. It is a little municipality in the very west of Basque Country.

Karrantza Harana/Valle de Carranza (in Basque Karrantza Harana, in Spanish Valle de Carranza), is a town and municipality located in the province of Biscay, in the Basque Country. It is located in the comarca of Enkarterri and it is the westernmost and largest (by area) municipality of the province. Film director Víctor Erice was born there.

El Puente is the capital of the municipality of Guriezo (Cantabria, Spain). In 2008 it had a population of 535 inhabitants (INE). The town is located 40 meters above sea level, and is 67.5 miles away from the Cantabrian capital Santander.

Los Machucos, o Colláu Espina, is a mountain pass in the easternmost sector of the Cantabrian Mountains, known as the Pas Mountains, in Cantabria, Spain. It is located at 921 metres (3,022 ft) above sea level and communicates the villages of Bustablado and San Roque de Riomiera. It is known for its slopes between 15 and 20%, reaching 28% at certain points. At the summit, there is a Monument to the Pasiega cattle. In cycling, it was climbed for the first time in the 2017 Vuelta a España, when it was used as the finish of stage 17. Los Machucos was also featured as a stage finish in the 2019 Vuelta a España.

The Punta de los Cuervos is a promontory of land with rocky base, located in Castro Urdiales (Spain). The start of the promontory is covered by the Playa de Ostende's artificial sand. It has access stairs and viewpoint. During the first half of the 20th century, members of the Estebanot Family (of Zamoran origin), among whom was an engineer and an employee of the court, had a house near the Punta de los Cuervos (but not on the Punta), in the area known as "Los Hierros". But some people started to call it "Punta Estebanot" referring to this place, instead of its original name. However, the name "Punta Estebanot" or "Punta de Estebanot" has never been declared official.
