Newark Days is an annual celebration that takes place in Newark, California every September to celebrate the incorporation of the city of Newark on September 22, 1955. In its current form it is a four-day event, Thursday through Sunday, in mid to late September. It is centered on Newark Community Park & Community Center as well as the adjacent MacGregor School Grounds. In addition to carnival rides, food and game booths, and stage shows, it includes a race and a parade along "the Newark Mile" (a stretch of Newark Blvd.) on the Saturday morning. Annual attendance for the celebration is more than 100,000.

Oakland Center is the 16th busiest ARTCC in the United States. Between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017, Oakland Center handled 1,752,411 aircraft. Domestically, Oakland Center KZOA covers approximately 140,000 square miles of the Western United States, including parts of California, and Nevada. Oakland Center KZAK also covers 18.7 million square miles of the Pacific Ocean, roughly 9.5% of the Earth's total surface area, making this the largest Area Control Center in the world by controlled surface area.Oakland Center lies adjacent to 21 different domestic air facilities, including Seattle Air Route Traffic Control Center, Los Angeles Air Route Traffic Control Center, and Salt Lake City Air Route Traffic Control Center. ZOA overlies or abuts several approach control facilities (including Northern California TRACON).

Ardenwood is a park and ride bus station in Fremont, California. It is located off California State Route 84, adjacent to the Ardenwood Historic Farm. It is served by AC Transit and Dumbarton Express transbay buses. An expanded lot and bus shelter opened in August 2009 at a cost of $8.3 million and was frequently filled within months of opening. A railway platform is planned to be constructed along the bordering Union Pacific Coast Line to serve the rerouted Capitol Corridor in 2026.

The Ardenwood Historic Farm consists of the Ardenwood Station, the former Ohlone village and burial site, a blacksmith shop, an area with farm animals, Patterson House, and a gazebo. The Ardenwood Farm today is a working farm, producing grain and vegetables.

Mowry Landing (formerly, Mawry Landing and Mowry's Landing) is a former settlement in Alameda County, California. It is located 2 miles (3.2 km) southeast of central Newark on the San Francisco Bay. It lies at an elevation of 10 feet (3 m). Mowry Landing is near the western ends of Stevenson Blvd and Mowry Ave, within the current borders of Newark. It was named after Origin Mowry, a Mormon settler who moved there in 1846. It became a shipping port for produce and grain in the mid 19th century.

NewPark Mall is a 1,161,681 square feet (107,923.7 m2) super-regional mall in Newark, California. Opened in August 1980, it currently houses 119 stores. It serves the Tri-City area (Fremont, Newark and Union City). The mall underwent extensive renovations that were completed in early 2017. Among the additions are a 12-screen AMC movie complex with an IMAX screen and an elaborate new glass-walled restaurant area with views through the entire property. The Marin Farmers Markets nonprofit organization operates a farmers market on the mall property on Sunday. The mall is adjacent to the Newark campus of Ohlone College and Newark Memorial High School.

American High School (AHS) is a public secondary school located in Fremont, California, United States. It is one of five public high schools within the Fremont Unified School District. The school receives its students through the American High School attendance area boundary set by the district. It was a California Distinguished School from 2005 to 2009 and a California Gold Ribbon School from 2017 to 2019. It was recognized as a California Distinguished School once again in 2019. Most of the school body is Asian, with a significant South and East Asian population.

The Centerville Pioneer Cemetery, also known as the Centerville Presbyterian Cemetery or Alameda Presbyterian Cemetery, is located at the corner of Post Street and Bonde Way in Fremont, California. It was officially designated as a state cemetery in 1858 or 1859, depending upon the source, and was listed in the California Register of Historic Resources in 1976.
