Safdarjung Airport (IATA: N/A, ICAO: VIDD) is an airport in New Delhi, India, in the neighbourhood of the same name. Established during the British Raj as Willingdon Airfield, it started operations as an aerodrome in 1929, when it was India's second airport after the Juhu Aerodrome in Mumbai. It was used extensively during the Second World War as it was part of the South Atlantic air ferry route, and later during Indo-Pakistani War of 1947. Once situated on the edge of Lutyens' Delhi, today, it has the entire city of New Delhi around it. It remained the city's main airport until 1962, when operations shifted to Palam Airport completely by the late 1960s, as it could not support the new bigger aircraft such as jet aircraft.The Delhi Flying Club was established here in 1928 with two de Havilland Moth aircraft named ‘Delhi’ and ‘Roshanara’. The airport functioned until 2001, however in January 2002, due to security considerations in the post 9/11 scenario, the government closed the airport for flying activities, the club only carries out aircraft maintenance courses today. Today it is mostly used for VVIP helicopter passenger flights to the Indira Gandhi International Airport including the President and the Prime Minister. The 190 acre airport complex, has Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan on its grounds, which houses the Ministry of Civil Aviation as well as the headquarters of the Airports Authority of India (AAI).

Safdarjung's Tomb is a sandstone and marble mausoleum in Delhi, India. It was built in 1754 in the late Mughal Empire style for Nawab Safdarjung. The monument has an ambience of spaciousness and an imposing presence with its domed and arched red brown and white coloured structures. Safdarjung, Nawab of Oudh, was made prime minister of the Mughal Empire (Wazir ul-Mamlak-i-Hindustan) when Ahmed Shah Bahadur ascended the throne in 1748.

Lok Kalyan Marg, formerly Race Course Road, is a road in New Delhi, India. It is located south of Central Delhi. The nearest Delhi Metro station is Lok Kalyan Marg station. This road houses both the Prime Minister of India's residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg and the Delhi Gymkhana, which can also be approached from Safdarjung Road. Lok Kalyan Marg is closed for public entry. On the north-west end, it stretches from a roundabout joining Rajaji Road, Teen Murti Road, Akbar Road and Safdarjung Road. On the south-west end, it stretches up to the Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Marg, at the entry of the racecourse.

Safdarjung Road (Hindi: सफ़दरजंग मार्ग) is a main road in New Delhi, India, named after the 18th century Tomb of Safdarjung near it. At the north end, the road stretches from the junction of the Teen Murti Marg, Akbar Road, Rajaji Marg and Lok Kalyan Marg very residence of current PM of India, which is a roundabout. At the south end it stretches up to the junction of Prithviraj Road, Tughlaq Road and Sri Aurobindo Marg. There is a single junction/crossing at the Kemal Atatürk Marg and Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Road section. Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh stayed at 19 Safdarjung Road until he became PM in May 2004.

The Lok Kalyan Marg Metro Station is located on the Yellow Line of the Delhi Metro.It serves the Lok Kalyan Marg area in Central Delhi, and the Prime Minister's official residence, 7, Lok Kalyan Marg is located nearby.

The Indira Gandhi Memorial is a museum established to commemorate India's first and the only female Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. It is housed in the building where Gandhi lived with her family during her premiership and where she was assassinated. The museum contains material remains of Gandhi and her son Rajiv Gandhi.

Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated at 9:30 a.m. on 31 October 1984 at her residence in Safdarjung Road, New Delhi. She was killed by her bodyguards Satwant Singh and Beant Singh in the aftermath of Operation Blue Star, an Indian military action carried out between 1 and 8 June 1984 ordered by Indira Gandhi to remove Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and his followers from the Golden Temple of Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar, Punjab. The collateral damage included the death of many pilgrims, as well as damage to the Akal Takht. The military action on the sacred temple was criticized both inside and outside India.

7, Lok Kalyan Marg, formerly 7, Race Course Road, is the official residence and principal workplace of the Prime Minister of India. Situated on Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi, the official name of the Prime Minister's residence complex is Panchavati. It is spread over 4.9 hectares (12 acres) of land, comprising five bungalows in Lutyens' Delhi, built in the 1980s, which are the Prime Minister's office, residency zone and security establishment, including one occupied by Special Protection Group (SPG) and another being a guest house. However, even though there are 5 bungalows, they are collectively called 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. It does not house the Prime Minister's Office but has a conference room for informal meetings.The entire Lok Kalyan Marg, which lies right across the road, is closed to the public. Rajiv Gandhi was the first Prime Minister to reside at the erstwhile 7 Race Course Road, in 1984. It does not house the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), which is located in the South Block of the Secretariat Building, on Raisina Hill nearby in New Delhi, where the Cabinet Secretariat functions. The nearest Delhi Metro station is Lok Kalyan Marg metro station. When a new Prime Minister is nominated his/her original house is for the time being given a security detail and the new office holder is then advised to move in the 7, LKM at the earliest possible date.The residence was earlier called 7, Race Course Road, which changed to 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, following the renaming of the road on which the house is situated, in September 2016.

12, Tughlaq Road (also known as 12, Tughlaq Lane) is a Type VII government bungalow on Tughlaq Road in Lutyens' Delhi, New Delhi, India. It forms part of the cluster of stately bungalows allotted by the Directorate of Estates to Members of Parliament and senior office-holders of the Union government. The bungalow was constructed in the 1920s as part of the British-era civic scheme designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and Sir Herbert Baker, featuring high ceilings, colonnaded verandahs and deep eaves, set within a landscaped compound of mature jamun and shamiana trees. In 1977, former Prime Minister Charan Singh was allotted the residence upon joining the Morarji Desai ministry. His son, RLD leader Ajit Singh, occupied it until 2014, when the Directorate served an eviction notice and later imposed a penalty of ₹ 5,77,500 for overstaying beyond his allotment. In 2004, then-Member of Parliament Rahul Gandhi was allotted 12, Tughlaq Road, and he remained in residence for nearly two decades. Following his disqualification as an MP in April 2023, Gandhi vacated the bungalow on 22 April 2023 and temporarily moved to his mother's official residence at 10, Janpath. Upon restoration of his Lok Sabha membership on 4 August 2023, he was re-allotted the same bungalow but chose not to return, later shifting instead to 5, Sunehri Bagh Road. The neighbouring Tughlaq Road police station holds its own place in modern Indian history, having registered FIRs in the aftermaths of the assassinations of Mahatma Gandhi in 1948 and Indira Gandhi in 1984.

The Jor Bagh Metro Station is located on the Yellow Line of the Delhi Metro.It is the northernmost station on Aurobindo Marg, and is located near the Lodhi Road crossing. A Mughal mausoleum, Safdarjung's Tomb, is located nearby. It is also close to Safdarjung Airport.
