KFMA (102.1 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station licensed to Oro Valley, Arizona, and broadcasting to the Tucson metropolitan area. KFMA airs an active rock format and is owned by Lotus Communications. The studios and offices on North Commerce Drive. KFMA has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 100,000 watts, the maximum for most FM stations. The transmitter is on West Zinnia Road in Tucson, near North Kalin Avenue.

Pantano High School is an alternative high school in the Vail Unified School District. It serves students who are four or more credits behind and are at risk of failing or dropping out. Pantano is located at 13010 S. Houghton Road in Tucson, Arizona

Vail is a census-designated place (CDP) in Pima County, Arizona, United States. It is 24 miles (39 km) southeast of Tucson. The population was 10,208 at the 2010 census, up from 2484 in the 2000 census. The area is known for the nearby Colossal Cave, a large cave system, and the Rincon Mountains District of Saguaro National Park, a top tourism spot within Arizona. Vail was originally a siding and water stop on the Southern Pacific Railroad. It was located on the last section of flat land before the train tracks followed the old wagon road into the Cienega Creek bed. Vail was named after pioneer ranchers Edward and Walter Vail, who established ranches in the area in the late 19th century. Vail deeded a right of way across his ranch to the railroad. Vail owned the Vail Ranch, his brother Walter Vail owned the nearby Empire Ranch, now part of the Las Cienegas National Conservation Area. Attempts to incorporate the town were defeated in 2013 and 2023.

Tucson Speedway is a 0.375 mi (604 m) paved oval racetrack located at the Pima County Fairgrounds, off Interstate 10 just south of Tucson, Arizona. It is one of only three paved ovals in the state of Arizona (the others are Phoenix Raceway and Havasu 95 Speedway).

Cienega High School (also known as CHS) is a public high school in Pima County, Arizona. It opened in the fall of 2001 with approximately 400 students (freshmen and sophomores). It is a member of the Arizona Interscholastic Association's 5A Conference.Cienega is currently the largest school in the Vail Unified School District in terms of student enrollment.

The Sahuarita Air Force Range, also known as the Sahuarita Bombing & Gunnery Range, was built just east of Sahuarita, Arizona, in 1942. It was used for the training of bombardiers, aerial gunners, anti-aircraft gunners, and others during World War II and the Korean War. The abandoned Sahuarita Flight Strip (31°57′50″N 110°55′29″W) is located in the southwestern corner of the range, and was used as an emergency flight strip until 1978. Before deactivation, the airspace over the range was protected by its own restricted area, R-310.

Huerfano Butte (English: "Orphan Butte") is a small rocky butte located on the western flank of the Santa Rita Mountains in southeastern Pima County, Arizona. With an elevation of 3,992 ft (1,217 m), Huerfano Butte is one of the dominant landmarks in the 52,000-acre (21,000 ha) Santa Rita Experimental Range, as well as an important prehistoric archaeological site.

Ciénega Creek (English: "Hundred Springs Creek" or "Marsh Creek") is an intermittent stream located in the Basin and Range region of southern Arizona, and is one of the most intact riparian corridors left in the state. It originates in the Canelo Hills and continues northwest about 50 miles (80 km) to an area just outside Tucson, where it becomes known as Pantano Wash. Pantano Wash continues through Tucson and eventually connects with the Rillito River.

Empire High School, also known as EHS, is a public high school in the Vail Unified School District in Tucson, Arizona. It is the first public high school in the United States to use all-wireless laptop technology and fully digital (no textbooks) curriculum resources.

Ciénega Bridge is an open-spandrel arch bridge which crosses Ciénega Creek and the Union Pacific Railroad near Vail, Arizona. Originally constructed in 1921, the bridge was part of U.S. Route 80, a major transcontinental highway, from 1926 to 1956. Being the oldest bridge of its kind in Arizona, the Ciénega Bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The bridge also holds the title of being the longest open-spandrel concrete arch bridge within the state. Currently, the bridge carries Marsh Station Road, which is part of Historic U.S. Route 80 as of 2018.

KRDX (103.7 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station, licensed to Corona de Tucson, Arizona, and serving the Tucson metropolitan area. It is owned by Ted Tucker, with the license held by Desert West Air Ranchers Corporation. The station airs an oldies radio format, known as "103.7 The Fox." KRDX has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 910 watts as a Class A FM station. The transmitter is southwest of Tucson, in the Santa Rita Foothills, near Vail. It also broadcasts on 250-watt FM translator K244EI at 96.7 MHz.

The Vail Academy and High School is a school located in the University of Arizona Science and Technology Park. It was founded in 1997 to accommodate the fast-growing community surrounding Vail. It previously served just high school students, but since then, it has become a K-12 school. The school mascot is the Boxer. Students must complete a senior exit project in order to graduate, as this is a requirement in the Vail Unified School District.
