Gatwick Airport Up sidings are located near London Gatwick Airport, Crawley, England, situated on the Brighton Main Line south of Gatwick Airport station. The sidings are accessed from the Up Platform Loop line.

Gatwick Racecourse was a racecourse in the county of Surrey, England near to Horley and Lowfield Heath. It was in use from 1891 to 1940 when it was closed at the start of the Second World War. The land is now part of London Gatwick Airport.

The complex includes four buildings: The Beehive, an approximately 20,000-square-foot (1,900 m2) former terminal building at Gatwick Airport located on a 2.0-acre (0.81 ha) site; 1 City Place a 131,500-square-foot (12,220 m2) facility on a 4.2-acre (1.7 ha) site, 2 City Place, a 85,000-square-foot (7,900 m2) building on a 1.9 acres (0.77 ha) plot, and 3 City Place, a 65,000-square-foot (6,000 m2) building on a 1.06-acre (0.43 ha) plot. Hamiltons Architects designed the "L" shaped 3 City Place.BT Wholesale formerly had an office at 1 City Place. BDO International has an office at 2 City Place. Beehive City Place previously housed the head offices of GB Airways, which had its head office in the Beehive, and CP Ships, which had its head office in 2 City Place.In 2012, Nestlé UK announced they would be moving their head office from St George's House Croydon to the former BT building at 1 City Place.

The Beehive is the original terminal building at Gatwick Airport, England. Opened in 1936, it became obsolete in the 1950s as the airport expanded. In 2008, it was converted into serviced offices, operated by Orega, having served as the headquarters of franchised airline GB Airways for some years before that. It was the world's first fully integrated airport building, and is considered a nationally and internationally important example of airport terminal design. The Beehive is a part of the City Place Gatwick office complex. The 20,000-square-foot (1,900 m2) former terminal building is on a 2-acre (0.81 ha) site.

The Archway Theatre is a unique amateur theatre based in Horley, Surrey, United Kingdom. It is operated by a membership organisation, the Archway Theatre Company. It consists of a 95 seat main auditorium and a 40 seat studio complex. The group performs 10 main productions each year of 10 performances each over a 2-week period. The choice of productions is wide and varied and in 2012 included works by William Shakespeare, Martin McDonagh, Alan Ayckbourn, Alan Bennett and Arthur Miller.

Tinsley Green is an area in the Borough of Crawley, one of seven local government districts in the English county of West Sussex. Originally a hamlet in the parish of Worth, it was absorbed by the New Town of Crawley in the 1940s and became part of the Pound Hill neighbourhood. As well as houses, farms and woodland, it became the site of the 1930s aerodrome at Gatwick—now London Gatwick Airport. The airport's first railway station was briefly known as Tinsley Green. The game of marbles has a strong local tradition, and Tinsley Green's pub hosts the British and World Marbles Championship each year.

The Gatwick Stream is a tributary of the River Mole in southern England. The Gatwick Stream rises in Worth Forest below Clays lake in West Sussex, flows northwards through Tilgate Forest, alongside Tilgate golf course, through Maidenbower, Three Bridges, and Tinsley Green to meet the River Mole on the border between West Sussex and Surrey.

Ariana Afghan Airlines Flight 701 was the flight involved in a fatal air accident on 5 January 1969, when a Boeing 727 with 62 people on board crashed into a house on its approach to London Gatwick Airport in heavy fog. Due to pilot error the flaps were not extended to maintain flight at final approach speed. At 0135 on a Sunday morning on which the Gatwick area was affected by patches of dense freezing fog, Boeing 727 registration number YA-FAR (the only such aircraft in the company's fleet) descended below its correct glide slope as it approached the airport from the east. As it passed over the hamlet of Fernhill on the Surrey/Sussex border, it hit trees and roofs, began to roll and crashed into a field south of Fernhill Lane, 1+1⁄2 miles (2.4 km) short of the runway. It collided with a large detached house, demolished it and caught fire.Forty-eight passengers and crew died, and two adult occupants of the house were killed when it was destroyed by the impact. A baby in the house survived with minor injuries. The captain, first officer, flight engineer and eleven passengers also survived.

Tinsley House is a United Kingdom Immigration Removal Centre (IRC), where individuals are held while awaiting decisions on their asylum claim or considered for deportation from the UK for various reasons. It is located on Perimeter Road South of Gatwick Airport in Gatwick, West Sussex, England. Tinsley House is managed by security firm Serco on behalf of Border Force. When Tinsley House was established in 1996, it was the UK's first purpose-built detention centre. Since then, the UK's detention estate has expanded substantially and there are now nine immigration removal centres. Some individuals are also detained in short-term holding facilities and prisons.Tinsley House is a modern, purpose-built centre. The centre is adjacent to Gatwick Airport and operates in accordance with Detention Centre Rules (2001). There are bed spaces for 119 males and eight units for families. The family wings have access to outdoor children's play area, small kitchenette and childcare. The centre has a well-stocked library, a computer room, English language and arts and crafts access, television rooms, chapel and prayer rooms. It includes a sports hall and field with equipment for detainees to play football and volleyball and also well-equipped gym. The visiting times are 14:00 to 21:00 every day.
