Chiddingstone

St. Mary the Virgin is a parish church in the united benefice of Chiddingstone, Penshurst, Chiddingstone Causeway and Fordcombe in the episcopal Diocese of Rochester. It is a Grade II* listed building with Historic England.

Chiddingstone Castle is situated in the village of Chiddingstone, near Edenbridge, Kent, England, 35 miles (56 kilometres) south-southeast of London and in the upper valley of the River Medway. The castle was built by the Streatfeild family and served as their seat from the early 16th century until the beginning of the 20th century when the family left the castle. The Streatfeilds sold the castle to Lord Astor in 1938. Since 1977, the castle and its 35 acres (14 hectares) of grounds have been held in trust for the nation by the Denys Eyre Bower Bequest, and both are open to the public. Much of the current structure dates from the early 19th century, but incorporates elements of the earlier buildings on the same site.

Polebrook Farm is a 13-hectare (32-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest south of Sevenoaks in Kent, England.The field layout of this farm is believed to have remained unchanged for over 700 years. The hedges and meadows have a rich variety of flora, with at least 19 species of grasses.A public footpath crosses the site.

Bough Beech is a hamlet in the county of Kent, England, and is south of the Bough Beech Reservoir. It is located approximately three miles east of Edenbridge (of which it is part) and five miles south west of Sevenoaks. It is in the civil parish of Chiddingstone. The reservoir is a nature reserve, in particular for bird watching; it is especially important for migrating osprey, though they are a rare sight now the reservoir is no longer stocked with trout. The reservoir is owned by the SES Water Company, who supply tap water to settlements west of the reservoir; including Gatwick Airport in West Sussex and Morden in south London. The hamlet of Bough Beech is close to the Redhill to Tonbridge Line and has a pub, 'The Wheatsheaf'.

Chiddingstone Hoath is a hamlet in the Sevenoaks District of Kent, England. Notable buildings include Hoath House, and Stonewall Park, for some time home of the Meade-Waldo family. It lies within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It was visited by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1910.

Chiddingstone Causeway is a village 4 miles (6 km) west of Tonbridge in Kent, England. It is within the Sevenoaks local government district. It is in the civil parish of Chiddingstone. The village is served by Penshurst Station on the Redhill to Tonbridge Line with trains running hourly between London Victoria and Tonbridge via East Croydon. Connections for Gatwick Airport can be made from this service by changing at Redhill. Penshurst Airfield, which was in operation from 1916 to 1936, and again from 1940 to 1946 as RAF Penshurst, was within ¼ mile (400 m) of the station. The village is also served by the 231 and 233 bus routes linking Lingfield, Edenbridge, and Tunbridge Wells via Bidborough The current service contract is run by Metrobus and there is no Sunday or Bank Holiday service.In the centre of the village is 'The Little Brown Jug' public house. St. Luke's church is a Church of England church on the Tonbridge Road, just over a hundred metres east of the pub. There is a war memorial outside St. Luke's church.

St Luke's is a Grade II* listed Church of England church in Chiddingstone Causeway, Kent. It was built in 1897–1898 to a design by John Francis Bentley in a loosely Decorated Gothic Revival style, replacing a tin tabernacle (erected circa 1873).According to Pevsner the church was financed by the Hill family and John Singer Sargent recommended Bentley to him. It was the only Protestant church designed by Bentley.Since 2019 the church is part of the High Weald Churches benefice of Penshurst, Chiddingstone, Fordcombe and Chiddingstone Causeway. The altar window is the work of Wilfrid de Glehn.

Hever Castle ( HEE-vər) is located in the village of Hever, Kent, near Edenbridge, 30 miles (48 km) south-east of London, England. It began as a country house, built in the 13th century. From 1462 to 1539, it was the seat of the Boleyn (originally 'Bullen') family.Anne Boleyn, the second queen consort of King Henry VIII of England, spent her early youth there after her father, Thomas Boleyn, inherited it in 1505. The castle passed to him upon the death of his father, Sir William Boleyn. It later came into the possession of King Henry VIII's fourth wife, Anne of Cleves. The Grade I listed castle is now owned by the Guthrie family's Broadland Properties.

Bore Place (also Boar Place) was the country seat of the manor of Milbroke in Kent. The manor house was constructed in around 1745. It was originally named after the Bore family who owned the estate in the reign of Henry III. It subsequently passed through the Alphew, Read, Willoughby, Hyde and Streatfield families. It is now owned by the Commonwork Trust – a charity which runs the estate as a dairy farm, market garden, conference centre and education facility.

Penshurst is a historic village and civil parish located in a valley upon the northern slopes of the Kentish Weald, at the confluence of the River Medway and the River Eden, within the Sevenoaks district of Kent, England. The village is situated between the market town of Tonbridge and the spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells, some 6 miles (9.7 km) south of Sevenoaks. Penshurst and its neighbouring village, Fordcombe, recorded a combined population of some 1,628 at the 2011 Census.The majority of the parish falls within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the village is itself a conservation zone, with controls on the landscape ensuring the protection of its woodland and fields. There are several listed buildings in the village. The village is the home of two historic estates. Penshurst Place, formerly owned by King Henry VIII, sits at the centre of the village in the valley, while Swaylands is situated at the top of Rogues Hill on the outskirts of the village.

Penshurst Park Cricket Ground, also known as the Earl of Leicester's Park, is a cricket ground at Penshurst in Kent. It is one of the oldest cricket venues in England. Part of the Penshurst Place estate, it hosted its first recorded match in 1724.
