Pemigewasset Lake

The New Hampton Town House (also known as New Hampton Meeting House; Center Meeting House) is a historic meeting house at the junction of Town House Road and Dana Hill Road in New Hampton, New Hampshire. Since 1799, it has served as the community's town hall, and is one of three surviving 18th-century town halls in Belknap County still used for that purpose. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

Lake Wicwas, also known as Wickwas Lake, is a 350-acre (1.4 km2) water body in the Lakes Region of central New Hampshire, United States, in the town of Meredith. Water from Lake Wicwas flows south to Lake Winnisquam, then to the Winnipesaukee River, and ultimately to the Merrimack River. The lake is classified as a warm-water fishery, with observed species including smallmouth and largemouth bass, chain pickerel, horned pout, and black crappie.Longstanding disagreement about how to spell the name of the lake led locals in 2019 to request that the state officially designate it as "Wicwas" without a K. The requested spelling was adopted by the U.S. Board on Geographic Names in November 2019.

The First Free Will Baptist Church in Meredith is a historic church building at 61 Winona Road in Meredith, New Hampshire, United States. Built about 1802 and remodeled in 1848, it is a good example of a mid-19th century vernacular Greek Revival rural church. It is now a museum called the Pottle Meeting House, managed by the local historical society. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Surrounding towns that attend NRHS are Alexandria, Bridgewater, Bristol, Danbury, Groton, Hebron, Hill, and New Hampton. The school is part of the Newfound Area School District (NASD) and was originally named Newfound Memorial High School. It was originally located where Newfound Memorial Middle School currently stands until the present high school building was constructed in 1989. Newfound Regional High School was awarded "NH Excellence in Education" in 2010. Newfound Regional High School's motto is "Choose your path to success...make a commitment."

Lake Waukewan is a 928-acre (3.76 km2) water body located in Belknap County in the Lakes Region of central New Hampshire, United States, in the towns of Meredith and New Hampton. The town of Center Harbor occupies part of the lake's northern shoreline. The lake is classified as a cold- and warmwater fishery, with observed species including rainbow trout, smallmouth bass, chain pickerel, horned pout, and white perch. It supplies drinking water for the town of Meredith from an inlet near the south end of the lake.The water level is controlled by the Dam Bureau of the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services. As of 2013, it is maintained at 540.0 feet (164.6 m) above sea level in the summer, and 538.5 feet (164.1 m) the rest of the year.Water from Lake Waukewan flows into Lake Winnipesaukee, with a 40-foot (12 m) drop in elevation. The water rights to the natural Measly Pond Brook (a.k.a. Corliss Brook) was purchased by John Jenness in 1795, and used to power a gristmill and sawmill in Meredith Village, though it was not the best local waterpower source. John Bond Swasey redirected the flow into a 600-foot canal and consolidated waterfall (construction 1816-1818) which greatly improved the amount of waterpower available, allowing further industrialization of the village. The Ashland Railroad Station is a historic train station at 39 Depot Street in Ashland, New Hampshire. Built in 1869 and remodeled in 1891, it is a well-preserved example of a rural 19th-century railroad station. It is now a museum operated by the Ashland Historical Society. The station was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Squam River is a 3.6-mile-long (5.8 km) river located in central New Hampshire in the United States. The river is the outlet of Squam Lake, the second-largest lake in New Hampshire, and it is a tributary of the Pemigewasset River, which itself is a tributary of the Merrimack River. The Squam River first appears as a narrow channel in Holderness, New Hampshire, between Squam Lake and Little Squam Lake downstream. The two lakes have the same elevation, due to a dam below the outlet to Little Squam, so the river in Holderness village is not free-flowing. Below Little Squam Lake the river proceeds south for over a mile before reaching the dam which controls the two lakes' water level. Below this point, the river quickly reaches the backwater from a mill dam in the town of Ashland. In Ashland, the river drops 50 feet (15 m) in 0.2 miles (0.3 km), sufficient to provide hydropower for numerous industries when the town originally grew in the 19th century. Below the center of town, the river wanders southeast under railroad tracks and Interstate 93 and past the Ashland sewage treatment plant before entering the Pemigewasset River in the northwest corner of the town of New Hampton.

The Whipple House is a historic house museum at 4 Pleasant Street in Ashland, New Hampshire. Built about 1837, it is a well-preserved example of a mid-19th century Cape-style house, that is relatively architecturally undistinguished. It is significant for its association with George Hoyt Whipple (1878–1976), a Nobel Prize-winning doctor and pathologist who was born here. Whipple gave the house to the town in 1970, and it is now operated by the Ashland Historical Society as a museum, open during the warmer months. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
