Bommer Canyon is an open space preserve in southern Irvine, California featuring hiking and biking trails as well as private event areas. The canyon is part of the Irvine Ranch, which itself is a National Natural Landmark, the first California Natural Landmark, and part of the City of Irvine Open Space Preserve. The preserve is adjacent to the affluent Irvine villages of Shady Canyon and Turtle Ridge and features roughly 16,000 acres of preserved open space. Approximately 15 of these acres are preserved as a "Cattle Camp" named for the area's previous cattle operations and are now rented for private events such as campouts, company picnics, and family reunions. The trails in Bommer Canyon feature groves of oak and sycamore trees as well as rough rock outcrops and are popular with area residents who use them for nature walks, hiking and mountain biking.

Concordia University Irvine is a private Lutheran university in Irvine, California, United States. It was established in 1976 to provide a Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod college to serve the Pacific Southwest and provide training for pastors, religious education teachers, and Christian school administrators. Concordia University Irvine has a total undergraduate enrollment of 1,592 and its campus size is 70 acres (28 ha). It is one of nine colleges and universities in the Concordia University System.

University High School (also known as UHS or "Uni") is one of six public high schools serving grades 9-12 in the city of Irvine, California, United States. It was established in 1970 and is situated on 55 acres (22 ha) of land in the southwestern portion of the city, adjacent to the University of California, Irvine (UCI). The school comprises six main academic buildings, a performing arts theater, a band room for instrumental music, a swimming pool, eight tennis courts, an indoor gymnasium supplemented with other indoor athletic facilities, a stadium, and several practice fields. Housed within the facilities are the departments of English, world languages, math, science, social science, instrumental music, art, industrial technology, athletics, physical education, English proficiency programs, special education, and the Orange County Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program. The school colors are navy blue, Columbia blue, and white. The school mascot is the Trojan. University High School was named the best public high school in California and 8th best public high school in America in 2011 by Newsweek. University was also the highest ranked institution on the list that was not a charter or magnet school.

The Anteater Recreation Center (ARC) is an 89,000-square-foot (8,300 m2) indoor gym facility that is part of campus recreation at the University of California, Irvine (UCI); the anteater is the mascot of the UC Irvine athletics team (see University of California, Irvine#Athletics for the mascot's origin and history). It is open to all UCI students, faculty and staff members, alumni, and other university affiliates, including spouses.The facility was designed by Langdon Wilson Architecture. It opened in January 2000, replacing older, cramped recreational facilities at the school's older gym, Crawford Hall. Built at a cost of $26 million, it was funded by a student referendum approved in May 1996, when UCI students voted to pay an additional $88 per quarter to fund the center and other athletic and recreational facilities. The positive reception for the new center led students at other University of California campuses (such as UCLA) to push for similar improvements in their recreational facilities.The facility has been the setting for several Guinness world record events, including a 4,448-participant dodgeball game in 2011 and a 3,875-combatant water pistol fight in 2013.

Vista Verde School is a year-round, K-8 school located in the Turtle Ridge neighborhood of Irvine, California, United States. Vista Verde belongs to the Irvine Unified School District but is not a neighborhood school; rather, it is open to all Irvine residents with a preference for Turtle Ridge residents, and is one of four year-round schools in the Irvine district.

Tanaka Farms is a family-owned and operated farm and produce market in Irvine, California. Its focus is not wholesale goods production but agritourism, mainly focused towards school-age children on field trips. It grows over sixty varieties of fruits and vegetables and does not use GMO seeds or unapproved pesticides. The organization also operates a sunflower field in Costa Mesa. Agritourism makes up about a third of the farm's income, with their produce stand and CSA program making up the rest.

Tarbut V'Torah Community Day School (TVT) is a private Jewish non-denominational Community Day School located in southern Irvine, California, in northern Orange County. The school is divided into separate sections: the Lower School serves grades TK-5, and the Upper School serves grades 6-12. The schools are located on its 21.5-acre (87,000 m2) campus that was donated by the Samueli family and other donors. The school has been recognized as a Blue Ribbon School.

University Park is a master-planned neighborhood in Irvine, California. It is bounded by University Drive to the south, Culver Drive to the west, and the San Diego (I-405) Freeway to the north. Commercially advertised as Irvine's first "village", the neighborhood was named University Park due to its proximity to the University of California, Irvine. University Park celebrated its 50th anniversary in July 2016.

Mariners Church is a non-denominational, Christian megachurch located in Irvine, California, situated in central Orange County. It is the 2nd largest church building in California, and as of 2016 was the 17th largest church in the United States by number of attendees. Through its period of rapid growth, the main personality behind the church was Kenton Bashore. The son of a pastor in La Cañada Flintridge, California, Bashore received his undergraduate and graduate educations at Biola University. He came to Mariners as a college pastor in 1978. Eric Geiger has been senior pastor since 2018.

William R. Mason Regional Park, or as it is more commonly referred to, Mason Park, is a park in southern Irvine, California. It is one of the largest parks in Irvine and is traversed by trails.
