St. Thomas University (STU) is a private Catholic university in Miami Gardens, Florida. The university offers 61 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, and post-graduate certificate programs on-campus and online. As of 2021, the university enrolled 5,921 students, which included 1,797 undergraduate students, 1,498 graduate students, 780 law students, 62 non-degree students, and 1,784 dual enrollment (high school) students. Over the years, the university's students have represented 45 states across the nation, and more than 70 countries.The university is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

The St. Thomas Bobcats are the athletic teams that represent St. Thomas University, located in Miami Gardens, Florida, in intercollegiate sports as a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), primarily competing in the Sun Conference (formerly known as the Florida Sun Conference (FSC) until after the 2007–08 school year) since the 1990–91 academic year. According to its 2022 ABA-required disclosures, 68.2% of the Class of 2022 obtained full-time, bar-passage-required employment after graduation. The college was renamed after civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump in 2023. The law school includes the Benjamin L. Crump Center for Social Justice, which focuses on implicit bias training and offers scholarships to students.

The Crouse House, in Opa-Locka, Florida, was designed by architect Bernhardt E. Muller for owners J. W. and Jennie Crouse. The house includes Moorish Revival elements, and it was constructed in 1926 at the corner of Peri and Ahmed Streets in Opa-locka. Original features of the house included a bell tower at the Peri St. entrance and a dome above the garage entrance on Ahmad St., but neither feature survived numerous alterations.Aviation pioneer Glenn Curtiss founded Opa-locka in 1925, and he hired architect Bernhardt Muller to design the community with a Moorish Revival motif inspired by stories from One Thousand and One Nights. Curtiss was not able to achieve Muller's vision for the community, although several sites were constructed.
