Picassent (Valencian pronunciation: [pikaˈsent]) is a municipality in the comarca of Horta Sud in the Valencian Community, Spain. Picassent is a town of close to twenty thousand people. Originally the town's main economic activity was agriculture, however during the last twenty years Picassent developed two industrial areas adjacent to the city centre. The excellent communications and its distance to the main City of Valencia have converted Picassent in an ideal and cheaper location for the city workers that commute every day. In the surrounding countryside, one of the largest of the county (comarca), the locals grow orange trees. The municipality is composed by several neighbourhoods, some more formal than others. Traditionally these neighbourhoods were attached to the three Churches sited next to three main town squares: "San Cristobal" next to the townhall square, "Milagrosa" next to the Market square and "l´hermita de la Vallivana" next to "l'hermita" square. The town celebrates two main festivals a year, one on 10 July in honour of "San Cristobal" and another on 8 September in honour to "Virgen de la Vallivana". During the July festival there is a week of "bous al carrer", a version of the well known "San Fermin" in Pamplona. Also in September the main day (the 8th) is surrounded by a week of multiple activities: from religious processions to classic and rock music concerts and fireworks. Picassent has an Underground station (Line 1) whose name is "Picassent". This connects the city centre of the municipality with the capital València. It takes half an hour more or less going from Picassent to Valencia city centre. It hosts the two main prisons of Valencia.

The town has six casales falleros, for the different Fallas. Silla has different cultural associations. Because of the great immigration of Andalusian people in the 1960s, Silla has got a Casa de Andalucia. In Silla there is a very important local theater school. Founded in 1985, it is one of the first drama schools in the area.

The municipality limits with Catarroja, Beniparrell, Silla, Valencia and Alcacer. The climate is mediterranean, so winters are mild and summers are pretty warm. The origin of Albal is at the time the Muslims governed this part of Spain. Its name comes from 'Dry land' in Arab language. Population (2016): 16136. Economy: Industries of plastics, furniture, agriculture and construction of buildings. There are also a lot of good restaurants where you can taste the typical valencian food. Famous buildings: Arab tower (rectangular tower of the former system of defense, around XIII century), Ermita de Santa Ana (small church with the image of Saint Ann, the grandmother of Virgin Mary, built in XIV century), Iglesia Nuestra señora de los Ángeles (main church of the town, built in 1697) Important persons: Padre Carlos Ferris (jesuit priest founder of the leprosery at Fontilles), Salva Ruiz (footballer)

It is 13 km (8 miles) long and runs from the junction of the Autopista AP-7 and the Autovía A-7 near the small town of Silla to the Autovía V-30 on the southern outskirts of the city centre. Built as an upgrade of the N-332 road, which used to run through small towns in the Southern metropolitan area, it is frequently used by commuters and drivers travelling between Valencia and Alicante or Albacete.

Torrent (Spanish: Torrente) is a city located within the metropolitan area of the city of Valencia, Spain. It is the largest municipality of the Horta Oest comarca, with 83,962 inhabitants (2020). It is situated some 7 km from Valencia city proper, to which it is connected via the metro. The two metro stations in Torrent are called Torrent and Torrent Avinguda on lines 1, 2 and 7. It is bordered by Aldaia, Alaquàs and Xirivella in the north, Picanya and Catarroja in the east, Alcàsser and Picassent in the south and Montserrat, Godelleta, Turís and Xiva in the West. All of the cities are part of the province of Valencia.
