St Matthias' Church, Stoke Newington

The Army and Navy is a Grade II listed public house at 1–3 Matthias Road, Stoke Newington, Hackney, London N16 8NT. It was built in 1936 and was Grade II listed in 2015 by Historic England.

EartH (Evolutionary Arts Hackney) is an independent arts centre in Dalston, London which opened in 2018 in a former cinema.

The Alexandra Theatre was a theatre located in the Stoke Newington district of London. Built in 1897, it was located at 65 and 67 Stoke Newington Road where the present-day Alexandra Court now stands. The theatre was demolished in the 1960s.

Stoke Newington was an ancient parish in the county of Middlesex. It was both a civil parish, used for administrative purposes, and an ecclesiastical parish of the Church of England.

On 14 November 1992, 3.2 tonnes of explosives was discovered during a routine check on a lorry travelling on Stoke Newington Road, part of the A10, one of the main routes between London and the north. The Volvo lorry was stopped by police around 1 am; the occupants fled. Constable Raymond Hall - a former Royal Engineer soldier and Falklands War veteran - chased the suspects to a residential street, Belgrade Road no.7 where he was shot twice by one of them. Shortly afterwards police arrested one man, Irish lorry driver Patrick Kelly, a member of the Provisional IRA, who was alleged to have been driving the lorry.The large amount of explosives, which was bigger than that used in the Baltic Exchange bombing earlier that year, could have caused "massive destruction". Investigations found detonation material inside the lorry as well. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Anti-Terrorist Branch were unable to determine the intended target, although it occurred on the day of the Lord Mayor's Show.

The Rio Cinema is a Grade II listed independent Art Deco cinema in east London. It is a popular independent cinema located on Kingsland High Street in Dalston, with a history stretching back over 100 years. The Rio added a second screen in the unused basement space in December 2017.The Rio was named one of London's best cinemas by the Daily Telegraph and best cinema bars by the Evening Standard.

Balls Pond Road Cemetery, also known as Jewish (West London Reform) Cemetery, Kingsbury Road Cemetery, Balls Pond Burial Ground and The Jewish Burial Ground, is a Jewish cemetery on Kingsbury Road, Dalston, London N1. It was founded in 1843 and is owned by West London Synagogue. Prominent early members of that place of worship, such as the de Stern, Goldsmid and Mocatta families, are buried in this cemetery. Other notable burials include the ashes of Amy Levy, the first Jewish woman at Cambridge University and the first Jewish woman to be cremated in England. The last burial at the cemetery was in 1951. The cemetery has been Grade II listed since 2020.

The Aziziye Mosque (Turkish: Aziziye Camii) is a mosque in Stoke Newington, London. The mosque was funded by the UK Turkish Islamic Association and the conversion began in 1983. Turks who had once felt reluctant to attend a ‘non-Turkish’ mosque welcomed the congregation as services were provided in the Turkish language rather than in English or Arabic. The total capacity of its Ottoman style mosque is 2,000 people. The institution includes a Halal butcher, a weekend school (Aziziye Education Centre), a wedding hall and a restaurant.Originally built as a cinema, it first opened in 1913 as the Apollo Picture House, was reopened in 1933 as the Ambassador Cinema and from 1974 played martial arts films and softcore sex films as the Astra Cinema, before closing in 1983. It is among Hackney Council's "Locally Listed Buildings."

Mildmay Park railway station is a former railway station on the North London Line, located between Canonbury and Dalston Kingsland stations. The station was located on Mildmay Park between Newington Green and Balls Pond Road.

Dalston Kingsland railway station is a railway station on the North London Line in London, England. It is in the Dalston area of the London Borough of Hackney, on the western side of Kingsland High Street and opposite Ridley Road Market. The station and all trains serving it are operated by London Overground. It is in Travelcard Zone 2. Kingsland railway station was first opened on the site in 1850, but was replaced by Dalston Junction in 1865. The current station was opened by British Rail in 1983. Ticket barriers are in operation. The station straddles the boundary with the London Borough of Islington, with part of the platforms falling within Islington.

Shacklewell Lane Mosque (Turkish: Shacklewell Camii) is a Turkish mosque located in Shacklewell, London. Established by Ramadan Güney, his wife Suheyla Güney and other Trustees Turkish Cypriot in 1977, it is the first ever Turkish mosque in the United Kingdom. The mosque is an Andalusian-style building and was previously a synagogue, known as the New Dalston Synagogue.
