Pine River (Rhode Island)

The Davisville Naval Construction Battalion Center was a United States Navy Seabee base located in Davisville, Rhode Island. It operated from 1942 until 1994, when after it was recommended for closure during the 1991 Base Realignment and Closure Commission. It was made up of Camp Thomas, Camp Endicott, the Advanced Base Depot, and the Advanced Base Proving Ground, and was located next to Naval Air Station Quonset Point for most of its existence.

Seabee Museum and Memorial Park is a non-profit military history museum in Davisville, Rhode Island, devoted to the Seabees of the U.S. Navy. Quonset Point, where the Seabee Museum is located was a major United States Navy base during World War II, home to the Naval Air Station Quonset Point and the birthplace of the iconic Quonset Hut. In the 1990s a group of former Seabees and Seabee friends decided to found and construct the museum themselves. The museum is a non-profit museum developed on 6.5 acres (26,000 m2) by former U.S. Navy Seabees. The museum includes the former Navy concrete chapel, seven vintage Quonset huts (saved from the demolition of nearby Camp Endicott), and the original Gate Seabee statue, and the non-profit Quonset Air Museum located in buildings that were originally built for the Naval Air Station Quonset Point (NASQP).

Camp Endicott was a United States Navy Seabee facility, part of Davisville Naval Construction Battalion Center at Quonset Point in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. A surviving portion of the camp, now mostly demolished, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The Allen–Madison House (designated Quarters A (Building D-272) by the United States Navy) is a historic house on Marine Road in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. It is located on the grounds of the former Davisville Naval Construction Battalion Center, set on an isolated plot apart from the main portion of the base.

Smith's Castle, built in 1678, is a house museum at 55 Richard Smith Drive, near Wickford, a village in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Smith's Castle is one of the oldest houses in the state. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1993 as Cocumscussoc Archeological Site due to the artifacts and information that digs have yielded in the area. It is located just off U.S. Route 1 in Rhode Island.

Cornelius Island is a small uninhabited island in Wickford Harbor, Narragansett Bay, Wickford, Rhode Island.

The Apponaug Historic District is a 2-acre (0.81 ha) residential historic district in the central village of Warwick, Rhode Island, which is also known as Apponaug. It consists of five properties (numbered 3376, 3384, 3387, 3391, 3397–3399, and 3404 Post Rd.) dating to no later than the early 19th century. These houses are a remnant of what was once a much larger collection of period houses in Apponaug, many of which have succumbed to modern 20th-century development of the area.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. Since the listing, the odd-numbered houses have all been demolished.

The Forge Road Historic District is a historic district on Forge Road from Ives Road to the Potowomut River in Warwick, Rhode Island. Most of the district's nearly 200 acres (81 ha) are taken up by the Forge Farm, which lies south of Forge Road, is one of the oldest farms in Rhode Island (dating to the mid-17th century), and was the birthplace of American Revolutionary War general Nathanael Greene. A memorial to Greene stands near the bridge crossing the Potowomut River. Opposite the farm on Forge Road stand four houses, all of which date to the late 18th to mid-19th century.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Forge Farm is an historic farm in Warwick, Rhode Island. Established in the mid-17th century by the Greene family, it is one of the oldest farms in Rhode Island. It was the birthplace of General Nathanael Greene, a prominent American general in the American Revolutionary War. The core of the main house was built in 1684 by James Greene, son of John Greene, who purchased the land from local Native Americans. It has been extended and altered numerous times in the 18th and 19th centuries. Nathanael Greene was born in this house in 1742, and the farm was owned for many years by Nathanael's brother Christopher, and wife, Deborah (Ward) Greene, daughter of Continental Congress member Samuel Ward.The farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

Rabbitt Island is a small island in Wickford Harbor, Narragansett Bay, Wickford, Rhode Island. Roger Williams received the island from Chief Canonicus' wife as a gift for a place to raise his goats. Richard Smith, who built Smith's Castle, later owned the island.

North Kingstown is a town in Washington County, Rhode Island, United States, and is part of the Providence metropolitan area. The population was 27,732 in the 2020 census. North Kingstown is home to the birthplace of American portraitist Gilbert Stuart, who was born in the village of Saunderstown. Within the town is Quonset Point, location of the former Naval Air Station Quonset Point, known for the invention of the Quonset hut, as well as the historic village of Wickford.

Davisville is a village in the town of North Kingstown in the U.S. state of Rhode Island that was formerly the home of the Davisville Naval Construction Battalion Center, which housed the United States Navy's SeaBees.
