Waverton is a suburb on the lower North Shore of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Waverton is 4 kilometres north of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of North Sydney Council.

HMAS Waterhen is a Royal Australian Navy (RAN) base located in Waverton on Sydney's lower north shore, within Sydney Harbour, in New South Wales, Australia. Constructed on the site of a quarry used to expand Garden Island in the 1930s, the location was used during World War II as a boom net maintenance and storage area. In 1962, the area was commissioned as a base of the RAN, and became home to the RAN's mine warfare forces. Waterhen was the first small-ship base established by the RAN, and from 1969 to 1979 was also responsible for the RAN's patrol boat forces.

The Cammeraygal, variously spelled as Cam-mer-ray-gal, Gamaraigal, Kameraigal, Cameragal and several other variations, are one clan of the 29 Darug tribes who are united by a common language, strong ties of kinship and survived as skilled hunter–fisher–gatherers in family groups or clans that inhabited the Lower North Shore of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

North Sydney Council is a local government area on the Lower North Shore of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, established on 29 July 1890 through the amalgamation of three boroughs. The area is bounded by Willoughby to the north and north-west, Northern Beaches to the north-east, Mosman to the east, Lane Cove to the west and Sydney Harbour to the south. Graythwaite is a heritage-listed former private home and former hospital and now school administration building located at 20 Edward Street, North Sydney, North Sydney Council, New South Wales, Australia. It was designed by Goold and Hilling and Edmund Blacket and built from 1858 to 1885 by Aaron Loveridge. It is also known as Graythwaite Nursing Home and Shore School. The property is owned by the Sydney Church of England Grammar School. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 1 November 2002.

Kailoa is a heritage-listed house at 44 Union Street, North Sydney, North Sydney Council, New South Wales, Australia. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

North Sydney Demonstration School (NSDS) is a primary school located in Waverton, New South Wales, Australia. It is one of only three demonstration schools in New South Wales.

The Mary Mackillop Memorial Chapel was built in 1913 in honor of Australia’s first saint – Mary Mackillop [1]. The chapel is located in Mount Street in North Sydney, considered a place for spiritual retreat in the middle of the North Sydney business district. The chapel was previously used exclusively by the Sisters of St. Joseph. However, when Mary Mackillop’s remains were moved to the chapel in 1994, where the vestry was originally located. Since then, the chapel has become a place of pilgrimage [2] for thousands of people coming to pray and reflect at her tomb. The Chapel is an imposing building. The facade is set by stone traceried windows [3]. Above of which, are tall commanding spires of carved stone. The Chapel’s altar, lectern and chair are all made from white marble. Images of saints displayed in stained glass and statues adorn the Chapel. Apart from the Chapel, a museum has also been incorporated in the compound. This facility attracts busses of crowds and or tourists, both local and foreign, wanting to know more about the life of Australia’s first saint. The museum is equipped with state of the art technological gadgets & facilities to help provide visitors with a truly transcendental experience to relive Mary Mackillops days. Her life story is weaved by the different sections of the museum. It is also divided in several buildings, each depicting a phase of Mary’s life. Regardless of religious persuasion, it is a pleasant and interesting setting to spend some time for reflection and tranquility, purely from a historical point of view. Despite the abundance of activities other than spiritual retreat, Mary Mackillop Place is in fact a soothing resort which refreshes anyone with its divine calmness.

MV Cape Don is a museum and training ship and former research vessel and lighthouse tender in Waverton, New South Wales, Australia. She is the only remaining Australian lighthouse supply ship and is listed on the Australian Register of Historic Vessels. Built and launched by the State Dockyard at Newcastle, New South Wales in 1962 for the Commonwealth Lighthouse Service, she serviced the lighthouses, lightships and buoys of the Australian coast from 1963 to 1990. She was also used as a research vessel, and was involved in numerous high-profile scientific expeditions including the salvage of two of HMS Investigator's anchors. Cape Don is being restored by the MV Cape Don Society, which is overseen by the Sea Heritage Foundation. She is berthed at the former coal loading wharf in Balls Head Bay, Waverton, New South Wales.

Don Bank (also known as the Don Bank Museum) is a heritage-listed former residence and now house museum at 6 Napier Street, North Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It was built from 1853 to 1858 for Edward Wollstonecraft. It is also known as St. Leonard's Cottage. The property is owned by North Sydney Council. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

The Sydney Church of England Grammar School (commonly known as Shore or Shore School) is a dual-campus independent Anglican single-sex and co-educational early learning, primary and secondary day and boarding school for boys, located on the Lower North Shore of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1889 by the Church of England, Shore has a non-selective enrolment policy and currently caters for approximately 1,600 students from Year K to Year 12, including 200 boarders from Year 6 to Year 12.
