The Sackwald is a ridge, up to 374 m above sea level (NN) high, in the Lower Saxon Hills in the district of Hildesheim in the North German state of Lower Saxony. It is named after the village of Sack in the borough of Alfeld, the name meaning "Sack Forest". The Sackwald is part of the geological structure of the Sack Basin or Sackmulde along with the Sieben Berge and the Vorberge.

Almstedt is a village and a former municipality in the district of Hildesheim in Lower Saxony, Germany. Since 1 November 2016, it is part of the municipality Sibbesse. Almstedt consists of the village of Almstedt and the smaller village of Segeste. Each of the villages has a sightworthy old church and well-preserved half-timbered houses. The church in Segeste was built in 1770.

Winzenburg is a village and a former municipality in the district of Hildesheim in Lower Saxony, Germany. Since 1 November 2016, it is part of the municipality Freden. It comprises four smaller communities, including the village of Winzenburg, which dates from the Middle Ages. Winzenburg is located in the Leinebergland to the north of Bad Gandersheim, between the national parks of the Harz and the Weserbergland, in Lower Saxony, Germany. The municipality (German: Gemeinde) was formed on March 1, 1974 from the four previously independent communities of Winzenburg, Schildhorst, Westerberg and Klump. It is near the small town of Freden.

Everode is a village and a former municipality in the district of Hildesheim in Lower Saxony, Germany. Since 1 November 2016, it is part of the municipality Freden. The town was first mentioned in the ownership deed of Bishop Bernward of Avenigeroth in the year 996. In July 1965, the town voluntarily joined a joint community (Leine) alongside Freden, Winzenburg, Eyershausen, Ohlenrode and Wetteborn. On the 1st of March 1974, Meimerhausen was also added. On the 1st of November 2016, this joint community was dissolved and Everode became a part of the Freden (Leine) municipality. The village hosts a yearly tomato festival. Festivities include tomato flavoured ice-cream and a fresh tomato market.

Lamspringe Abbey (Stift Lamspringe, later Kloster Lamspringe) is a former religious house of the English Benedictines in exile, at Lamspringe near Hildesheim in Germany.

Lamspringe is a village and a municipality in the district of Hildesheim, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated approximately 20 km south of Hildesheim. Since 1 November 2016, the former municipalities Harbarnsen, Neuhof, Sehlem and Woltershausen are part of the municipality Lamspringe. Glashütte is a district of the Lamspringe community and located around 4 km east of Lamspringe on the L 466 state road to Rhüden in the Schlörbach valley. In the 18th century, the Lamspringe monastery founded a forest glassworks . It was located in the extensive wooded area of ​​the Westerhof monastery forest, which borders the Heber ridge. In 1792 Johann Friedrich Stender from Ziegenhagen resumed glass production in the monastery forest and founded a glassworks with the Stender glass factory. The Glashütte settlement, for which the company was named, emerged from it. It was known historically as the seat of the former Lamspringe Abbey, of which the church and other buildings remain. Lamspringe was the seat of the former Samtgemeinde ("collective municipality") Lamspringe.

Freden is a village and a municipality in the district of Hildesheim, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated on the river Leine, approx. 25 km south of Hildesheim. Since 1 November 2016, the former municipalities Everode, Landwehr and Winzenburg are part of the municipality Freden. Freden was the seat of the former Samtgemeinde ("collective municipality") Freden.
