Nicoll Scrub National Park

Currumbin Valley Reserve is a 4 ha nature reserve in the Gold Coast hinterland of south-east Queensland, Australia, west of Coolangatta, 105 kilometres (65 mi) south of Brisbane. It is owned and managed by Bush Heritage Australia (BHA), to which it was donated in 1999 by the Wildlife Preservation Society of Queensland according to the wishes of the previous owner, Dr Alex Griffiths, founder of the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. With the adjacent Nicoll Scrub National Park it forms the only large area of rainforest remaining in the lower Currumbin Valley. Is a tiny patch of regenerating rainforest protected from the nearby frenzy of development. Altitude Currumbin Valley Reserve varies from 20 to 620 meters at the highest points.

The Ecovillage at Currumbin is an innovative residential community at 639 Currumbin Creek Road, Currumbin Valley, Queensland, Australia. It showcases best practices in residential ecologically sustainable development. The ecovillage project has been developed on degraded farmland on the exurban fringe of City of Gold Coast, a major resort city on Queensland’s South East Queensland coast. The developer, Land Matters Currumbin Valley, has rehabilitated the site and is protecting its environmental integrity and biodiversity by preserving 50 percent of the site as an environmental reserve. It is on a 300-acre (1.2 km2) site comprising 80% bushland, plus open spaces and 141 home sites. The ecovillage is master planned with many homes architecturally designed. It was established by Chris Walton and his wife Kerry Shepherd. Currumbin Ecovillage lacks adequate public transport. Residents are car-reliant.

Currumbin is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Queensland.The district lies in the south-east corner of the state, along the New South Wales border. The district takes in southern parts of the Gold Coast and much of its hinterland. It includes the suburbs of Currumbin, Coolangatta, Elanora and Tugun as well as the rural Currumbin Valley and Tallebudgera Valley. The electorate was first contested in 1986.

Campbell Hill (formerly Mount Campbell) is a mountain located in Piggabeen, New South Wales (NSW), Australia. It is located in the region of the Tweed Shire in the state of New South Wales, in the eastern part of the country, 900 kilometres (560 mi) north of the capital, Canberra, approximately 107 kilometres (66 mi) from Brisbane and 24 kilometres (15 mi) from Surfers Paradise. Campbell Hill is approximately 123 metres (404 ft) above sea level. Piggabeen is situated in the hinterland approximately 5 km behind the Gold Coast Highway and the Gold Coast International and Domestic Airport. Piggabeen and its valley adjoins Currumbin Valley in Queensland. The terrain around Campbell Hill is flat to hilly and the mount faces to the northeast. From the top of Campbell Hill you can capture views of the Pacific Ocean, Surfers Paradise, the Gold Coast Airport, the township of Coolangatta that are all within Queensland and also Fingal Head in New South Wales. Campbell Hill is situated approximately 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) directly inland from Bilinga Beach on the Gold Coast. The nearest society, Tweed Heads, is 7.4 km east of Campbell Hill. Campbell Hill is approximately 10 minutes drive from Coolangatta and Tweed Heads. Gold Coast swimming and surfing beaches such as Kirra, Greenmount, and Rainbow Bay are also close by. The area around Campbell Hill consists mainly large acreage homesites. Campbell Hill is located approximately 1.2 km from the southern entrance of the recently approved (May 2011) Cobaki Lakes development. This is a large scale residential development that will eventually hold up 5,500 dwellings, and up to 12,000 people.

Piggabeen is a town located in north-eastern New South Wales, Australia, in the Tweed Shire. Piggabeen adjoins Cobaki Lakes that is situated 1.2 kilometres (0.75 mi) to the northeast, Cobaki to the South East and Currumbin Valley that is situated approximately 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) to the northwest and across the state border of Queensland. Once predominantly a dairy farming town Piggabeen now mainly consists of acreage homesites and small hobby farms. Piggabeen has a valley that leads northwest towards the Queensland border. Piggabeen and its valley are part of the Tweed Shield Volcano and Caldera that is the largest erosion caldera in the southern hemisphere, with Mount Warning being the extinct volcano. Landmarks located in Piggabeen include the Old Piggabeen Hall and School that were both established in 1919, Piggabeen Creek, as well as Campbell Hill, (formerly Mount Campbell). The Aboriginal meaning for Piggabeen (Valley of the Palms) is Bundjulung Piccabeen or bigibin for the Bangalow palms.
