Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education (LNCPE) is part of the academic wing of the Sports Authority of India, and is situated at Kariavattom, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. It was founded on 17 August 1985 under the auspices of the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.The college provide facilities for the promotion of physical education, sports and teacher training by offering undergraduate and post-graduate research courses. LNCPE has served as training camps for Indian athletes competing in various international competitions including the recently concluded 2022 Asian Games.

University College of Engineering (UCEK), Kariavattom, Thiruvananthapuram is a premier engineering college run by the management of University of Kerala. The institute was established in the year 2000. The college functions in the Golden Jubilee Complex of the Karyavattom campus, University of Kerala, India. After the establishment of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (formerly, Kerala Technological University) in 2014, UCEK is the only engineering college affiliated with the University of Kerala.

Greenfield International Stadium, also known as The Sports Hub, and previously as Trivandrum International Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in Kerala, India, used mainly for cricket and football. The stadium is located at Kariavattom in Thiruvananthapuram city. It was built on 36 acres of land leased by the Kerala University for ₹94 lakh (US$146,527.23) per year for a period of 15 years. The first international football tournament hosted by the stadium was the 2015 SAFF championship. India were crowned the champions, beating Afghanistan 2–1 in the final. On 1 November 2018, the venue hosted its first cricket ODI.

Established on 28 July 1990 by the Government of Kerala, under chief minister E K Nayanar, it is one the largest information technology (IT) park in India in terms of developed area..Technopark is the first IT Park of India Technopark has 10.6 million sq ft (980 thousand m2) of built-up area, and is home to over 480 companies, employing more than 70,500 professionals, and it is still expanding, adding another 37 hectares (91 acres) as part of Phase III expansion, and 423 acres (171 ha) as Technocity—an integrated IT township near Pallippuram. The policy of economic liberalisation initiated by the government of India in 1991, and the rapid growth of the global software industry during the 1990s, substantially contributed to this growth. During the global financial crisis of 2007–2010, the park saw a period of reduced growth in 2009–10, when exports were only 2.8% more than the previous year. During the 2016-17 financial year, the park recorded IT exports of Rs. 5,000 crores.Technopark is owned and administered by the Government of Kerala and is headed by a chief executive officer. In addition to this, it has a governing council and a Project Implementation Board, both of which include top officials of the government. Administrative offices, including that of the CEO, are housed in the Park Centre building. Technopark also hosts a Technology Business Incubation Cell under Kerala Startup Mission. Technopark houses domestic firms, joint ventures, and subsidiaries of foreign companies engaged in a wide variety of activities, which include embedded software development, smart card technology, enterprise resource planning (ERP), process control software design, engineering and computer-aided design software development, IT Enabled Services (ITES), process re-engineering, animation, and e-business.

The College of Engineering, Trivandrum, commonly shortened to CET, is an engineering college in the Indian state of Kerala, situated in Thiruvananthapuram. Founded in 1939 by the Travancore monarch Chithira Thirunal, it is the state's oldest technical institution. It currently offers undergraduate, graduate and research programs in eight branches of engineering and has been affiliated to the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University since 2015, prior to which it was part of the University of Kerala.

APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) is a state public technological university headquartered at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. KTU offers professional degrees in engineering, technology, and management-related streams and has advanced courses and syllabi compared to its predecessor universities in the state. Named after the Indian aerospace scientist and statesman A. P. J. Abdul Kalam in 2015, it is both a teaching and an affiliation university, with more than 170 affiliated colleges and over 160,000 students enrolled, having jurisdiction over the 14 districts of Kerala. Loyola College of Social Sciences is a government aided Catholic higher education institution run by the Kerala Province of the Society of Jesus in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. It was founded by the Jesuits in 1963. It is affiliated with the University of Kerala and prepares students for a PhD in sociology, social work, and management studies.The college celebrated its golden jubilee in 2012 with the President of India Pranab Mukherjee as guest of honor.
