Straubing-Bogen is a Landkreis (district) in the eastern part of Bavaria, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from the north clockwise) Cham, Regen, Deggendorf, Dingolfing-Landau, Landshut and Regensburg. The independent town of Straubing is surrounded by the district. The seat of the government of the district (Landratsamt) is located in Straubing. The only towns within the district itself are Bogen and Geiselhöring.

Große Laber (also: Große Laaber) is a river in Bavaria, Germany, a right tributary of the Danube. Its source is near Volkenschwand. It is 87 km (54 mi) long. It flows northeast through the small towns Rottenburg an der Laaber, Schierling and Rain. It flows into the Danube near Straubing.

The Gäubodenvolksfest in Straubing is one of the largest Volksfests (beer festival and travelling funfair) in the German state of Bavaria. It is an annual event, spanning eleven days mid-August.

Eisstadion am Pulverturm is an arena in Straubing, Germany. It is primarily used for ice hockey and is the home arena of Straubing Tigers. It opened in 1967 and holds 5,730 people. It is one of the smallest arenas in the DEL. Eisstadion am Pulverturm is on Kinseherberg 23 in the city center.

The Kobelberg is a forested mountain ridge running from north to south within the municipality of Wiesenfelden in the Bavarian Forest in southern Germany. It lies south of the village of Schiederhof between the source regions of the Großer Leitenbach to the east and the Breimbach to the west. Its three summits have heights of 692 m, 698.3 m und 703 m.According to a 2014 survey, the Kobelberg is one of 17 possible top sites for a pumped storage hydroelectric station in Bavaria. In the county of Straubing-Bogen the mountains of Pfarrerberg and Hadriwa are also in the frame.

St. Peter's Church, Straubing, is a Romanesque basilica in Straubing, Germany. It was built in the second half of the 12th century, and is distinguished by its two sculpted portals. The surrounding graveyard contains a number of funeral chapels, most notably the Totenkapelle, which is decorated with a cycle of paintings depicting the Totentanz (Dance of the Dead) by the Rococo artist Felix Hözl.

Anton-Bruckner-Gymasium Straubing is the largest of four gymnasiums of Straubing in Bavaria by the number of students, the others being Johannes-Turmair-Gymnasium, Ludwigsgymnasium and Gymnasium der Ursulinen-Schulstiftung. It consists of a music and an economics branch.
