Pielenhofen

Pielenhofen Abbey (German: Kloster Pielenhofen) is a former Cistercian nunnery (founded in 1240), in Pielenhofen in the valley of the Naab, Bavaria, Germany. It was occupied until 2010 by the Visitandines, also known as the Salesian Sisters. The Diocese of Regensburg maintains a school here.

Loch is a rare example of a cave castle in Bavaria; only in Stein an der Traun in Upper Bavaria is there another surviving example of this type of fortification.

The Vils is a river in Bavaria, Germany. Its source is near Freihung. The 87 km (54 mi)-long Vils flows generally south through the towns of Vilseck, Amberg and Schmidmühlen. It is a right tributary of the Naab in Kallmünz.

Kallmünz is a municipality in the district of Regensburg in Bavaria, Germany. Located on Naab River about 25 km north of Regensburg, Kallmünz has preserved a beautiful medieval center. The main attractions are the ruins of the Kallmünz Castle above the town on a cliff and the old stone bridge over the Naab River. The Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky and the German expressionist painter Gabriele Münter met in Kallmünz during the summer of 1903. Since then, Kallmünz has been the constant home of a small art colony. Kallmünz Castle, the seat of the former Counts of Kallmünz, has been fortified since the Bronze Age. Kallmünz also has a medieval bridge bearing masons' marks over the Naab River.

The Naab (Czech: Nába) is a river in Bavaria, Germany. This 97.5 kilometer long river is a left tributary of the Danube. Its average discharge at the mouth is 49 m3/s (1,700 cu ft/s).The Naab is formed by the confluence of the Waldnaab and the Haidenaab in Luhe-Wildenau, south of Weiden in der Oberpfalz. It flows generally south, through the towns Nabburg, Schwandorf and Burglengenfeld. It flows into the Danube near Regensburg.

Prüfening Abbey (German: Kloster Prüfening) was a Benedictine monastery on the outskirts of Regensburg in Bavaria, Germany. Since the beginning of the 19th century it has also been known as Prüfening Castle (Schloss Prüfening). Notably, its extant dedicatory inscription, commemorating the founding of the abbey in 1119, was created by printing and is a unique document of medieval typography.

Regensburg-Prüfening station is one of the three railway stations in the German city of Regensburg used for passenger services; the others being Regensburg Hauptbahnhof and Regensburg-Burgweinting. It is located in the west of the city on Prüfeninger Schloßssstraße. In front of the station the track divides into the line to Nuremberg and the Regensburg–Ingolstadt railway to Ingolstadt Hauptbahnhof and Ulm. This crosses the line to Nuremberg shortly after Prüfening station. Regensburg-Prüfening has three platforms. To the south, are platforms 1 and 2 to Nuremberg, and about 100 m north is platform 3 to Ingolstadt. Only Regionalbahn trains stop at the station, which is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 5 station. It has connections to Regensburg's city bus services which stop at the Rennplatz bus stop north of the station.
