The Barthelmarkt is an annual Volksfest (beer festival and travelling funfair) in Manching, near Ingolstadt, Germany. It is held on the last weekend of August and lasts four days. Every year, about 250,000 people visit it.Though first mentioned in 1354, its roots can be traced back as early as to the 1st century BC, when the Romans established a cattle market in the area. The name "Barthelmarkt" stems from St. Bartholomew, the patron saint of the local church.

Tuja-Stadion (formally known as ESV-Stadion) is an 11,418 capacity stadium in Ingolstadt, Germany. It is primarily used for football and was the home of ESV Ingolstadt until they merged with MTV Ingolstadt to become FC Ingolstadt 04. It also hosted four football matches during the 1972 Summer Olympics. The stadium was modified in 2008 to suit 2nd division criteria. A new stadium was built and completed before the 2010/11 season.

The Apian-Gymnasium Ingolstadt is a Gymnasium (high school or grammar school) in Ingolstadt, Bavaria established in 1971. It was named after Peter Apian (1495–1552) and his son Philipp Apian. Peter Apian was a mathematician at the University of Ingolstadt, Bavaria's oldest university (which was later moved to Munich). His son Philipp (1531–1589) was his successor as the professor of mathematics at Ingolstadt University and the first cartographer to produce a complete map of Bavaria. The Apian-Gymnasium is one of Bavaria's centres of excellence. It offers a wide variety of subjects, an inventors' club, a number of exchange programs with France, Scotland and the US, but also playful facilities like a terrarium with snakes and spiders and a large toy train room with to-scale electric toy trains and stations.

Manching is a municipality in the district of Pfaffenhofen, in Bavaria, Germany. It is situated on the river Paar, 7 km southeast of Ingolstadt. In the late Iron Age, there was a Celtic settlement, the Oppidum of Manching, on the location of present-day Manching. Airbus Defence and Space (former Military Air Systems business unit of EADS) has its flight test center here at Manching Airport. The Barthelmarkt, a well-known beer festival in the area, takes place in the district of Oberstimm on the last weekend of August every year.

Hohenwart Abbey (German: Kloster Hohenwart) was a Benedictine nunnery located at Hohenwart in Bavaria, Germany. The nunnery was founded in 1074, presumably from the monastery at Andechs, by Count Ortolf and his sister Wiltrudis, last of the noble family of the Rapotonen. In the 12th century the recluse Richildis lived here, later pronounced Blessed. In 1215 a chapel was built in her honour where she was buried, to which from the 15th century onwards pilgrimages took place. It was dissolved in 1803 during the secularisation of Bavaria. However, the nunnery buildings found no buyers, and so the existing nuns were allowed to stay there until the end of their lives.In 1878 the empty buildings were bought by Dr Johann Evangelist Wagner, governor of the priests' seminary at Dillingen for use as a home for the deaf, dumb and blind, with the help of the Franciscan Sisters of Dillingen. In 1895 the buildings, including the church, burnt down and the entire facility was rebuilt. It continues to operate with the Franciscan Sisters as part of the charitable Regens-Wagner-Stiftung for the disabled. Of the nunnery, although the principal buildings are destroyed, there remain the Romanesque St. Peter's Chapel, the Romanesque–Gothic cloister, the late-Gothic Bl. Richildis Chapel and the abbey pharmacy with the probably unique Rococo representation of "Christ the Apothecary" in stucco from 1739.
