Noorbeek

Terhorst (in Limburgs dialect: Terhoorsj) is a little hamlet of 33 houses and part of the village of Banholt (in Limburgs dialect: Tebannet), which is in the municipality of Eijsden-Margraten in the province of Limburg, Netherlands. In the middle of the village, Terhorst has its own little chapel built in 1949 and every year in August there is the traditional annual Chapel party (kapelfeest). Terhorst is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Banholt. It was first mentioned between 1803 and 1820 as Terhorst, and means "height with growth".

The Noor or Langwater (Limburgish: Laankwater) is a river in the Netherlands and Belgium. The Noor is a right-bank tributary to the river Voer, which later joins the Meuse. Rising in Eijsden-Margraten, in the Dutch province of Limburg, the Noor eventually drains in the river Voer in Voeren, in the Belgian province of Limburg. A source of the Noor can be found at the Brigida spring (Dutch: Sint Brigidabron) in the hamlet of Wesch, north of the village of Noorbeek, in the municipality of Eijsden-Margraten, where water wells up from the chalk underground. The spring and the adjacent 18th century lavoir, named after Brigid of Kildare, patron saint of the village of Noorbeek, form a Dutch national heritage site. From Wesch the river flows south, passing west of the village of Noorbeek (Dutch: Noor river), which was named after the river. Passing Noorbeek the Noor continues southward through the Noor valley, south of the plateau of Margraten, and is one of only few Dutch rivers to flow southward into Belgium. The Dutch part of the Noor valley (Dutch: Noordal) contains a nature reserve, with the same name, managed by the Dutch Society for preservation of Nature Monuments.After crossing the border into Belgium the Noor flows past Castle Altenbroek and the Watermill at Altenbroek in Voeren. This 18th century castle is a Flemish heritage site. The Belgian part of the Noor valley is a Flemish protected landscape as part of the larger Voer valley protected landscape. The Noor eventually drains in the river Voer near the village of 's-Gravenvoeren in the municipality of Voeren.

Banholt (Limburgish: Tebannet) is a village in the Dutch province of Limburg. It is part of the municipality of Eijsden-Margraten and lies about 10 km southeast of Maastricht. The village was first mentioned in 1294 or 1295 as Bannoyt. Banholt which developed in the Middle Ages on the plateau of Margraten. In the 18th century, it became a road village.The Catholic St Gerlachus Church is a three aisled church with wide church which was constructed between 1874 and 1876. Banholt was home to 471 people in 1840.

Mheer (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈmeːr]; Limburgish: Maer) is a village in the Dutch province of Limburg. It is located in the municipality of Eijsden-Margraten and about 12 km southeast of Maastricht.

Voeren (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈvuːrə(n)] ; French: Fourons [fuʁɔ̃]) is a Flemish Dutch-speaking municipality with facilities for the French-speaking minority, located in the Belgian province of Limburg. Bordering the Netherlands to the north and the Wallonia region's Liège Province (Dutch: Luik) to the south, it is geographically detached from the rest of Flanders, making Voeren an exclave of Flanders. Voeren's name is derived from that of a small right-bank tributary of the Meuse, the Voer, which flows through the municipality. The current municipality of Voeren was established by the municipal reform of 1977. On 1 January 2008, Voeren had a total population of 4,207. Its total area is 50.63 km2 (19.55 sq mi), giving a population density of 83 inhabitants per square kilometre (210/sq mi). About 25% of the population is made up of foreign nationals, most of whom have Dutch nationality.

Reijmerstok (Limburgish: Rimmesjtók) is a village in the municipality Gulpen-Wittem in the Dutch province of Limburg. It lies southwest of Gulpen and counts about 600 inhabitants. In the village several half timbered houses can be found. There also is a viaduct, which was part of the tramline between the Dutch city of Maastricht and the German city of Aachen that was in use from 1925 until 1938. Near Reijmerstok hops are grown for the Gulpener Brewery.

Beutenaken (Limburgish: Böätenake) is a hamlet in the southeastern Netherlands. It is part of the village of Slenaken in the municipality of Gulpen-Wittem, Limburg, about 20 km east of Maastricht. Older names for the village are Bottinachs, Butenacho and Butenachen. The village is built as a linear settlement in the valley of the Gulp river, on a road connecting Waterop with Slenaken. The village has a chapel dedicated to Maria dating from 1880 and a chapel dedicated to the Sacred heart dating from 1929. Also it has several timber framing buildings, including a farm located at Beutenaken 38, which dates from the 18th century and has been designated a national monument.

Honthem is a hamlet in the Limburg province of the Netherlands, about 7 km from Maastricht. It was first mentioned in 1375 as Huynthem, and means "settlement of Hundo (person)".Honthem has place name signs. It was home to 127 people in 1840.

Margraten (Dutch: [mɑrˈɣraːtə(n)] (listen); Limburgish: Mergraote) is a village and a former municipality in the southeastern part of the Netherlands. On 1 January 2011 this former municipality merged with a neighbouring one, which resulted in the new Eijsden-Margraten municipality.

Slenaken (Limburgish: Sjlennich) is a village in the Dutch province of Limburg. Slenaken was a separate municipality until 1982, when it was merged with Wittem.

Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial (Dutch: Amerikaanse Begraafplaats Margraten) is a Second World War military war grave cemetery, located in the village of Margraten, 10 km (6.2 mi) east of Maastricht, in the most southern part of the Netherlands. The cemetery, the only American one in the Netherlands and dedicated in 1960, contains a constantly varying number above 8,000 American war dead and covers 65.5 acres (26.5 ha). It is administered by the American Battle Monuments Commission.

Neufchâteau (Walloon: Noû Tchestê) is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Dalhem, located in the province of Liège, Belgium. Prior to 1977 Neufchâteau was a municipality of its own. As of 2005, it has 854 inhabitants.
