For other roads with the same name see List of A21 roads. The A21 is a trunk road in Southern England, one of several which connect London and various commuter towns to the south coast. It provides a link to Hastings, East Sussex and parts of Kent. Half of the distance covered is over gently undulating terrain, with some hills and bends. Often traffic is slow-moving, particularly on weekdays on the short single carriageway stretches; and in summer with holiday traffic. Because of this, people have described the A21 as "a joke" and businesspeople have been reported to "hate coming down the A21". There have been many proposals to upgrade parts of the A21 in response to this. Parts of the A21 follow the historic turnpike roads: for example the section from Sevenoaks to Tunbridge Wells, opened in 1710; other sections of the road were similarly dealt with later in the century. It is also the location of the first wildlife overbridge in the United Kingdom, near Lamberhurst. The road between the M25 and Hastings is designated a trunk road, and is maintained and managed by Highways England (formerly known as the Highways Agency). The A21 is used for the 55 miles (89 km) Maydayrun to Hastings in which motorcyclists ride from South London to the Hastings seafront. It claims to be the largest non-organised event in the UK, attracting over 20,000 bikers.

Lewisham Central is an electoral ward in the London Borough of Lewisham. The ward was created for the 2002 election. Lewisham Central ward covers Lewisham town centre including the station, as well as Hither Green (west of the railway line) and part of Ladywell and St John's. The ward is mostly in the SE13 postcode district, with a small section in the SE8 district around Armoury Road. As of the May 2022 election the ward was reduced in geographic size, reflecting population growth around Loampit Vale and the station. There is now a separate ward for Hither Green.

Ladywell Fields, originally Ladywell Recreation Ground is a public park in the London Borough of Lewisham created from three historic fields. It is located near Ladywell railway station at the northern end of the park, and Catford Bridge at the southern end.

University Hospital Lewisham (formerly known as Lewisham Hospital) is an acute district general hospital run by Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust and serving the London Borough of Lewisham. It is now affiliated with King's College London and forms part of the King's Health Partners academic health science centre. It is situated on Lewisham High Street between Lewisham and Catford.

Ladywell is a locale in Lewisham in South East London, England, and a ward in the London Borough of Lewisham between Brockley, Crofton Park and Lewisham proper. It has ample green space including Ladywell Fields and Hilly Fields which borders Brockley. Ladywell Village, the main shopping area along Ladywell Road, was given a face lift in 2013 with £800,000 of Transport for London funding. The pavements were widened, short stay bays created to help local businesses and shoppers, and trees were added. Ladywell Village has a range of retail outlets including a number of cafes, a patisserie and a delicatessen.

The Migration Museum is a museum in London, England, devoted to the movement of people to and from the United Kingdom. The Migration Museum Project was founded in 2011 by Barbara Roche, a former Minister of State for Immigration. From 2013 it held a series of popup exhibitions and other activities. The museum opened in its first temporary base at the headquarters of the London Fire Brigade in Lewisham in 2017. Since 2020 it has been based in Lewisham Shopping Centre in south-east London, but in February 2023 it obtained planning permission for a permanent base in the City of London. In 2023 and 2024 the museum staged a touring exhibition on "Migration and the Making of the NHS", in Leicester from July to October 2023, in the Trinity Leeds shopping centre in Leeds, West Yorkshire from November 2023 to February 2024, and then in London.Outside the museum's entrance stands a sculpture named Wall, consisting of two panels from the former Berlin Wall, painted by artists Stik and Thierry Noir.The chair of the museum's trustees is Charles Gurassa.The Migration Museum is mentioned on the website of the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience, but as of November 2023 does not appear in the list of members on that site. It has been given "Museum of Sanctuary" status by the charity City of Sanctuary.

Lewisham Shopping Centre, formerly Riverdale Centre, is a shopping mall located in Lewisham, London, England. The centre is the major shopping centre in the London Borough of Lewisham. Also part of the complex is the Lewisham House office tower, formerly occupied by Citibank. There are proposals to convert this building to flats.The centre is located in Lewisham town centre and was built over the former streets Rhyme Road and Romer Avenue. The official address is on Molesworth Street (a dual carriageway section of the A21). The car park is located on the upper levels. Facilities at the centre include public toilets with baby changing, photobooths and ATMs. Since the Docklands Light Railway extension from Island Gardens reached Lewisham the centre experienced an increase in customers.

Ladywell railway station is in Ladywell, in the London Borough of Lewisham in south east London, in Travelcard Zone 3. It is 6 miles 62 chains (10.9 km) measured from London Charing Cross. The station and all trains serving it are operated by Southeastern. The Grade II station opened in 1857 and is in Ladywell Fields, adjacent to University Hospital, Lewisham.

Lewisham Priory was a medieval monastic house in London, England. The history of the manor of Lewisham dates back to the middle of the 10th century, when it was granted to St Peter's Abbey in Ghent. The location of the medieval Lewisham Priory is unknown but has variously been suggested to be either next to St Mary's church, at Priory Farm (around the Catford section of the South Circular), or on the High Street where the 17th century mansion of the same name would be built (now Albacore Crescent south of the hospital).

The Lewisham Odeon was a cinema located in Lewisham, London, England. It opened in 1932 as the Gaumont Palace with the films Westward Passage and The Midshipmaid. With 3,050 seats it was among the UK's largest cinemas. The building reopened in 1962 as the Lewisham Odeon after being closed for several months due to a fire. Concerts were also staged at the cinema by artists such as David Bowie, Status Quo, Nat King Cole, Johnny Cash, The Beatles, Ray Charles, The Rolling Stones, The Supremes, Rod Stewart, The Clash, The Specials, Adam and The Ants and The Who. After closure, the entire building was demolished in 1991 for a road widening scheme.

Prendergast Vale School is a mixed all-through school located in the Lewisham area of the London Borough of Lewisham, England.The school was first established as Lewisham Bridge Primary School. The school was renamed Prendergast Vale School in September 2011 as par when it began to accept secondary school age pupils. The former primary school has been refurbished and developed to accommodate a full all-through school.Prendergast Vale School is a foundation school and is part of the Worshipful Company of Leathersellers federation of schools, which also includes Prendergast School and Prendergast Ladywell School.

Lewisham Police Station is a police station in Lewisham High Street in the London Borough of Lewisham.
