Meadowview station

In the late evening of March 18, 2018, Stephon Clark, a 22-year-old African-American man, was shot and killed in Meadowview, Sacramento, California by Terrence Mercadal and Jared Robinet, two officers of the Sacramento Police Department in the backyard of his grandmother's house while he had a phone in his hand. The encounter was filmed by police video cameras and by a Sacramento County Sheriff's Department helicopter which was involved in observing Clark on the ground and in directing ground officers to the point at which the shooting took place. The officers stated that they shot Clark, firing 20 rounds, believing that he had pointed a gun at them. Police found only a cell phone on him. While the Sacramento County Coroner's autopsy report concluded that Clark was shot seven times, including three shots to the right side of the back, the pathologist hired by the Clark family stated that Clark was shot eight times, including six times in the back. The shooting caused large protests in Sacramento, and Clark's family members have rejected the initial police description of the events leading to Clark's death. The Sacramento Police Department placed the officers on paid administrative leave and opened a use of force investigation. Police have stated they are confident that Clark was the suspect responsible for breaking windows in the area prior to the encounter. On March 2, 2019, the Sacramento County district attorney announced that the Sacramento police officers who killed Clark would not be charged and that they had probable cause to stop Clark and were legally justified in the use of deadly force.

The station was opened on September 26, 2003, and is operated by the Sacramento Regional Transit District. It served by the Blue Line. The station is located north of Florin Road at Indian Lane, and serves the surrounding residential and commercial areas along Florin Road, the Department of Human Assistance, and Luther Burbank High School.

Morrison Creek station is a Sacramento RT light rail in Sacramento, California. The station platform was built as part of extension of the Blue Line to Cosumnes River College that opened in August 2015, but Morrison Creek station did not open at that time. The station was planned in anticipation of the construction of transit-oriented development next to the site, and includes a 75-space park and ride lot and a bus transfer area, but currently the area is undeveloped and the station site is not connected to any nearby roads. The station remained untouched until 2021, when SacRT was faced a deadline to use federal funding allocated to the project. The agency added missing amenities to the station including shelters and benches, and made it into a "walk-on" station, meaning it is only accessible by bicycle and pedestrian paths.Because of expected low patronage, the station is a "request stop" with riders needing to press a button on the platform to signal trains to stop.

Parkway is a neighborhood in Sacramento, California. Parkway sits at an elevation of 20 feet (6.1 m). The 2010 United States census reported Parkway's population was 14,670. Prior to the 2010 United States census, Parkway was grouped with Fruitridge Pocket and Lemon Hill in the Parkway-South Sacramento, California CDP.

Franklin station is a side platformed Sacramento RT light rail station in Sacramento, California, United States. The station was opened on August 24, 2015, and is operated by the Sacramento Regional Transit District. It is served by the Blue Line. The station is located on the north side of Cosumnes River Boulevard west of Franklin Boulevard in the South Sacramento neighborhood of Valley Hi. There is a 668-stall park and ride with a daily fee located at the station.

47th Avenue station is an at-grade light rail station on the Blue Line of the Sacramento RT Light Rail system operated by the Sacramento Regional Transit District. The station is located in an exclusive right-of-way alongside the Union Pacific Railroad's Sacramento Subdivision at its intersection with 47th Avenue, after which the station is named, in the city of Sacramento, California. The station is located on the northwest side of 47th Avenue, and serves the Campbell Soup Company manufacturing facility, surrounding industrial areas, and the 47th Avenue, Hogan, and 24th Street neighborhoods.

Masjid Annur Islam Center in Sacramento, California is the largest mosque in the greater Sacramento area of Northern California.The Masjid Annur Islam Center offers classes on the Arabic language, the Qur'an, Tajweed and holds events regularly throughout the year. Parkway–South Sacramento is a former census-designated place (CDP) in Sacramento County, California, United States. It is part of the Sacramento–Arden-Arcade–Roseville Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area shares three boundaries with the City of Sacramento. The population was 36,468 at the 2000 census. The CDP was abolished before the 2010 census. For that census, the area was divided into the CDPs of Fruitridge Pocket, Lemon Hill and Parkway.

The Sacramento Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant (SRWTP) in Elk Grove, California, United States was built along the Interstate 5 during the 1970s and became fully operational in 1982. The plant was built to centralize wastewater treatment, instead of sending it to the 22 treatment plants that used to exist in the Sacramento Area. The SRWTP employs approximately 350 people, treats approximately 127 million gallons of effluent daily for over 1.4 million people in Elk Grove, Sacramento, Citrus Heights, Folsom, and Rancho Cordova. It was later renamed Regional Sanitation as it continues upgrades to meet new state standards.

Lemon Hill is a census-designated place in an unincorporated area of Sacramento County, California, south of the city of Sacramento. Lemon Hill sits at an elevation of 30 feet (9.1 m). The 2010 United States census reported Lemon Hill's population was 13,729. Prior to the 2010 United States census, Lemon Hill was grouped with Parkway and Fruitridge Pocket in the Parkway-South Sacramento, California CDP.

On April 4, 1991, 41 employees and customers were taken hostage and held at a Good Guys! electronics store at the corner of 65th Street and Stockton Boulevard in Sacramento, California, near the Florin Mall (now Florin Towne Centre) for approximately eight hours by four gunmen. Near the end of the hostage crisis, six were killed: three hostages and three of the four hostage-takers. The fourth hostage-taker was captured by authorities, and an additional 14 hostages were injured during the crisis. To this day, the hostage crisis remains the largest hostage rescue operation in US history, with over 40 hostages having been held at gunpoint.
