Langworthy tram stop

Seedley railway station is a disused station located in the Seedley area of Salford, on the former Liverpool and Manchester Railway. The station was opened by the London and North Western Railway on 1 May 1882. It was located where Langworthy Road crossed the railway on an overbridge. The station building was at road level with a footbridge running parallel to the road and three sets of stairs going down to the three platforms. The platforms were all to the west of the road, there was a central platform with running lines on both sides and outer platforms with one face to the railway. The northernmost platform had a signal box located half way along it.The station had no goods facilities, only handling passengers and parcels, it closed on 2 January 1956.The line is still open. Parts of the station wall can still be seen but part of the trackbed has been covered over following the construction of the M602 motorway.

Salford ( SOL-fərd) is a city in Greater Manchester, England. The city is situated in a meander on the western bank of the River Irwell which forms its boundary with Manchester and its city centre. Landmarks in the city include the 100 Greengate skyscraper, the old town hall, cathedral and St Philips Church. It is the main settlement of the wider City of Salford metropolitan borough. Nearby towns in the built-up area include Stretford, Bolton, Sale and Bury with additional towns nearby being Prestwich, Radcliffe and Urmston. The wider metropolitan borough includes the towns of Eccles, Pendlebury, Swinton, Walkden and other surrounding villages and suburbs. It was the former Salfordshire's judicial seat in historic county of Lancashire. It was granted a market charter in about 1230 by Ranulf de Blondeville, 6th Earl of Chester. These two initially made it of greater cultural and commercial importance than neighbouring Manchester: the Industrial Revolution of the late 18th and early 19th centuries reversed that relationship. The former County Borough of Salford was granted city status in 1926: the current wider borough was established in 1974.The economy of the city was focused on a major cotton and silk spinning and weaving factory district in the 18th and 19th centuries and important inland port on the Manchester Ship Canal from 1894. Industrial decline in the 20th century lead to the city having run-down and antisocial areas. Multiple media sector headquarters relocated to the Salford Quays development called MediaCityUK to replace the loss of heavy industrial. Notable establishments and companies in the city include the University of Salford, Salford City Football Club, Salford Red Devils, Salford Lads' Club, BBC North and ITV Granada.

Weaste () is an inner-city suburb of Salford, Greater Manchester, England. In 2014, Weaste and Seedley ward had a population of 12,616.

Langworthy is an area of Salford, Greater Manchester. Weaste lies to the west of Langworthy and Pendleton to the east. In 2001 the population of Langworthy was 7,104, increasing to 12,935 at the 2011 Census. It was named after Edward Ryley Langworthy, a former mayor of Salford.

AldridgeUTC@MediaCityUK is a University Technical College for students aged 14–18 (Key Stage 4 and 5) at MediaCityUK Salford Quays, England. The college specialise in creative and digital courses. The UTC opened in September 2015 by BBC Director-General Tony Hall and BBC Presenter Chelsee Jade Healey and Lisa Riley and Founding Principal Ms Anne Casey. The UTC joined the Aldridge Foundation Multi Academy Trust in September 2018.

Broadway is a tram stop on the Eccles Line of Greater Manchester's light rail Metrolink system. It opened to passengers on 12 June 1999 as part of Phase 2 of the network's expansion, and is located in the Salford Quays area of the City of Salford, in North West England.

The Actors' Lab is an independent drama school with studios at MediaCityUK, Salford, Greater Manchester, founded in 2011 by husband and wife actors Sue Jenkins, David Fleeshman and daughter Emily Fleeshman.Classes and workshops provide services for aspiring and professional actors offering training, support and selective representation. In 2016 the Acting in London blog listed it among the top 10 best acting schools for children in the United Kingdom.In 2016, company director Emily Fleeshman was nominated for the E3 North West business young entrepreneur of the year award.

St Luke's Church is an Anglican church that stands on raised ground in Liverpool Street, Pendleton, Salford. The church, in the parish of Weaste, Seedley and Langworthy, is part of the Salford All Saints Team Ministry in the Salford deanery and the Manchester diocese. It was designated as a Grade II* listed building in 1980.

Weaste Cemetery is a public cemetery in Weaste, Salford, Greater Manchester, in England. Opened in 1857, it is the oldest of Salford's four cemeteries, covering 39 acres and containing over 332,000 graves.

BBC Radio Manchester is the BBC's local radio station serving Greater Manchester. It broadcasts on FM, DAB, digital TV and via BBC Sounds from studios at MediaCityUK in Salford Quays. According to RAJAR, the station has a weekly audience of 194,000 listeners and a 3.3% share as of December 2022.

MediaCityUK is a 200-acre (81 ha) mixed-use property development on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal in Salford, Greater Manchester, England. The project was developed by Peel Media; its principal tenants are media organisations and the Quayside MediaCityUK shopping centre. The land occupied by the development was part of the Port of Manchester and Manchester Docks. The BBC signalled its intention to move jobs to Manchester in 2004, and the Salford Quays site was chosen in 2006. The Peel Group was granted planning permission to develop the site in 2007, and construction of the development, with its own energy generation plant and communications network, began the same year. Based in Quay House, the principal tenant is the BBC, whose move marks a large-scale decentralisation from London. ITV Granada completed the first phase of its move to MediaCityUK on 25 March 2013, followed in two stages by the northern arm of ITV Studios: the second stage involved Coronation Street being moved to a new production facility on Trafford Wharf next to the Imperial War Museum North at the end of 2013. The Studios on Broadway houses seven high-definition studios, claimed to be the largest such facility in Europe. MediaCityUK was developed in two phases; the 36-acre (15 ha) first phase was completed in 2011, and the second is dependent on its success. The site became Europe's first WiredScore Certified Neighbourhood in 2020, with all commercial buildings achieving either a WiredScore Platinum or Silver rating. Metrolink, Greater Manchester's light-rail system, was extended to MediaCityUK with the opening of the MediaCityUK tram stop on 20 September 2010 and further extensions are planned. Road access was improved by the construction of the Broadway Link Road.

BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra (formerly BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra) is a national digital radio station in the United Kingdom, operated by the BBC, and specialising in extended live sports coverage. It is a sister station to BBC Radio 5 Live and shares facilities, presenters and management, and is a department of the BBC North Group division. If a major news story breaks during the live sport broadcasts on 5 Live, the sports coverage may sometimes be redirected and continued on 5 Sports Extra, while 5 Live switches to live news. The station is only available on digital radio, television platforms and BBC Sounds. Due to licensing reasons, international streaming of the station has not been available since 25 July 2016. According to RAJAR, the station broadcasts to a weekly audience of 1.6 million with a listening share of 0.5% as of December 2022.
