Barnett Hospital and Nursing School is a historic hospital and school building located at Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia. It is a three-story, rectangular building measuring 29 feet wide and 100 feet deep. It features a low-pitched, Mediterranean-style, hipped roof with clay Spanish tile. The original building was built as a frame dwelling, with subsequent additions in 1912, 1918, and 1925. The hospital was opened in 1912 by Dr. Clinton Constantine “C.C.” Barnett and served the African American population of Huntington. The Barnett Nursing School opened in 1918. The hospital closed in 1939. The Trustees of International Hod Carriers’, Building and Common Laborers’ Union owned the building from 1947 until 2007.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

Ohev Sholom Temple, now known as B'Nai Sholom Congregation, is a historic synagogue located at 949 10th Avenue, in Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia, in the United States. Designed by the Charleston architectural firm of Meanor and Handloser, it was built in 1925 for Congregation Ohev Shalom, which had been formed in 1887. In 1978 B'Nai Sholom Congregation was formed by the merger of Ohev Shalom and B’nai Israel, an Orthodox synagogue which had been formed in 1910. On March 17, 1994, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places. B'Nai Sholom continues today as an active congregation affiliated with both the Reform and Conservative streams of Judaism.

Campbell–Hicks House is a historic home located at Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia. It was built in 1896, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, masonry dwelling in the Queen Anne style. It features a slender, two story cantilevered rounded tower. It also has a full front porch with a roof upheld by five sets of paired fluted columns with Ionic order capitals.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Huntington Prep or Huntington Expression Prep is a basketball-focused college preparatory school located in Huntington, West Virginia. Huntington Prep was originally unrelated to the public Huntington High School located in the same city, though now Huntington Prep players go to school at Huntington High after Huntington Prep's host relationship with St. Joseph Central Catholic High School ended in 2020.

St. Joseph Central Catholic High School is a private Catholic high school in Huntington, West Virginia. It is part of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston.

The United States Post Office and Court House in Huntington, West Virginia is a federal building housing the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. It was built in 1907 and expanded in 1907, and again in 1937. The original construction was the result of the Tarsney Act of 1893. The federal courthouse is part of a group of significant civic structures in the center of Huntington that includes the Cabell County Courthouse, the Huntington City Hall and the Carnegie Public Library. The original design was by Parker and Thomas of Boston and Baltimore. The post office has since been moved to another location. In 1980, the United States Congress passed legislation renaming the building the Sidney L. Christie Federal Building, in honor of District Court judge Sidney Lee Christie.

Huntington Junior College (HJC) is a private for-profit junior college in Huntington, West Virginia. It was founded in 1936 and its campus is currently located in the former Cabell County Public Library building. The college offers six associate degree programs as well as stackable certificates and micro-credentials. It is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.

The Carnegie Public Library at Huntington, West Virginia, formerly also known as the Cabell County Public Library, is a historic library building located on the northeast corner of Fifth Avenue and Ninth Street. It was the first public library in the county. It served the community as a library until 1980, when a new library opened across the street. The building currently houses the Huntington Junior College.

Keith-Albee Theatre is a performing arts center located along Fourth Avenue in downtown Huntington, West Virginia, United States. The Keith-Albee was named after the Keith-Albee-Orpheum Corporation, one of the leading vaudeville performance chains at that time, to convince the directors of Keith-Albee-Orpheum to make the Keith-Albee a regular stop. At the time of its construction, The Keith Albee was the second largest theater in the U.S. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Downtown Huntington Historic District, and is currently being restored as a performing arts center.

The Tri-State Transit Authority (TTA) is the city bus system in Huntington, West Virginia, and Ironton, Ohio, as well as its suburbs. Its buses range, on the West Virginia side from 21st Street in Kenova, WV to Milton, West Virginia, about 20 miles to the east. On the Ohio side the buses range from downtown Ironton to the Huntington suburb of Proctorville, Ohio, which is also a range of about 20 miles. Interchange buses provide links between Huntington and Chesapeake, Ohio, and between Ironton and Ashland, Kentucky, where transfers are available to the Ashland Bus System (ABS). However the system does not interchange between the TTA and ABS in Ceredo, West Virginia, even though the buses pass within a few blocks of one another. The TTA was involved in a joint venture with the Charleston, West Virginia-based Kanawha Valley Regional Transportation Authority bus system called Intelligent Transit which linked downtown Huntington to Charleston via bus. The service ceased August 28, 2015 due to low ridership and lower gas prices compared to 2012.All buses begin and end at the old Greyhound Bus Depot in downtown Huntington, which is now known as the TTA Center. Mortimer Place Historic District is a national historic district located at Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia. The district encompasses 21 contributing buildings and 1 contributing structure. The district is composed entirely of early 20th century residences, the majority of which are Colonial Revival and Tudor Revivalstyle. They were built between about 1915 and 1930, and feature sloping roofs, parapet walls, and wooden brackets and moldings. The residential development was designed and built by architect Richard Mortimer Bates, Jr. The Mortimer Place Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.
